After being sick for 8 days and taking numerous OTC medications, my husband and I made an appointment to be seen at MD NOW on 5/5/25. The scheduling process was easy and the receptionist seemed kind upon our arrival. We waited for about an hour before I was called in. The technician taking the information was pleasant and asked numerous questions about my concerns & symptoms while documenting them in the computer. The wait for the doctor was another 10 minutes and upon arrival, he had me repeat everything I already supplied (so I did). Complaints were excessive cough, sweats, chills, fatigue, sore throat, runny nose, stabbing pain behind left shoulder blade and most concerning and new symptom now, a crackling noise along with a wheeze I can clearly hear. The repeated question from Dr. Walter Kaniefski was "how many times do you feel the pain"? I looked at him oddly as the question seemed odd. I said it only started last night along with the wheeze. Again he asked stating, "how many times? a dozen, 2 dozen, 50"? I responded with maybe a dozen.....????? He had the nurse perform a COVID and FLU test. Both negative. He asked me to jump up on the table and proceeded to listen to my lungs. Saying, "lungs are all clear". I asked what is the noise I'm hearing then? I can't even recall his response as it was so vague. He asked if I'm taking anything for cough. I responded that I have tried numerous OTC cough remedies and nothing works (Delsym, Robitussin, etc). I mentioned that my primary in the past has always order a prescription cough medication for me. He advised he will send a prescription to my pharmacy to help with the cough. I was given discharge papers showing he ordered the meds and I was released. I waited a few hours to hear from my pharmacy, and after calling them, I was told, "YOUR DOCTOR ORDER DIMETAPP, THAT'S AN OTC MEDICATION. NO PRESCRIPTION NECESSARY". I told them no, he said he was sending a stronger prescribed cough syrup. They repeated the order saying that is not what was sent in. I called MD NOW and explained this scenario to the person at the desk. They notified the doctor and I was told he would call me back. He never did call and the person that did called asked if I wanted him to send something else over. I explained I do not just want more OTC medication...nothing is helping me. They asked again, should he send something over? I told them yes, I can't keep coughing like this, I'm sleep deprived and my body is killing me from the straining. The next day I called the pharmacy and they said there is no RX there for me from MD NOW. I called MD NOW again asking where is the medication and I advised them to please tell the doctor that now my husband and I are coughing up yellow and/or green mucous. I was told that the RX would be sent again my another doctor as Dr. Kaniefski is not on call. Additionally, a note will be sent to Dr. Kaniefski about the mucous in case additional meds are required.Again, they said he will call you tomorrow when he is back in the office. It is now 4 days later and no meds have been called in and no call back from Dr. Kaniefski... This is DISGRACEFUL AND MORE THAN UNPROFESSIONAL! To add to the issue, on 5/7, I woke up from a deep sleep unable to catch a breathe. It was the most frightening thing I ever witnessed. I was panicking. I reached for my Asthma Inhaler but didn't even have enough breath to take in a puff. After about 2 minutes of choking, I finally was able to squeeze in 2 puffs. At that point, I was off to the ER. The doctor there listened to my lungs stating, "Boy, you're airways are really singing a tune". Funny that she heard what I'm hearing yet Dr. Kaniefski heard nothing??? No x-rays were taken at MD NOW and the ER order one ASAP to rule out Pneumonia. Being a senior and having had pneumonia twice before, I was overly concerned with that. Dr. Kaniefski didn't offer much in the line of medications. The ER immediately put me on prednisone and administered an Albuterol nebulizer treatment. Both doctors DX is Upper Respiratory Infection, yet only one seemed to care enough to order definitive tests and actually provide medication to help with my breathing. Five (5) prescriptions were submitted by the ER to aid in helping me breathe and clear my lungs and bronchia. Now, onto my husbands visit. Same symptoms for same duration (he is 81) No COVID OR FLU testing. No xrays. Asked what he's taking and when Dr. K. was told OTC medications along with Vitamin C, Zinc and Elderberry, Dr. K's response was "you know there's no proof that any of that will help with what you're dealing with". OK, then what did you prescribe my husband that will help him? NOTHING!!! Again, no ears, nose or throat checked. Merely listened to his lungs and released with no medications. Combined cost for this total lack of professionalism, $100. Someone in authority needs to look into this facility & doctor read more

The doctor reads the instructions for the physical that i provided from the employer and says he doesn't have a letter head and can't include the statement my physical is requesting be Included in the completed physical notes section. My husband and I brought our sick kids in on a weekend. When the lady opened the door to call us in to the examination room, she informed us that we would need to separated due to their covid-19 policy (only one parent per exam room). What the hell??? AND kids needed to be MASKED UP. I asked nicely to please allow us in the same room because both children are having the same symptoms, so what difference would it make separating us? We live in the same house...it made no sense. She said no. I said, we don't feel comfortable with your ridiculous policy of separating family members so we'll be visiting a different medical office that doesn't force parents to be separated from their children if they have more than one child. A few months later, guess what? I receive two bills in the mail lol So if you're like me and think these covid-19 "health and safety" policies are total BS, don't bring your children to this office. read more

Horrible! Went there for a UTI. I was told it was a 2hr wait and recommended we go home and schedule an appointment on line. We went home and attempted to schedule an appointment but it wouldn't accept our info. We went back and heard another patient with the same complaint. I finally saw a physician and told him I just wanted an antibiotic for the UTI until I could see my primary the next day. I explained that I've experienced UTI'S in the past. After testing my urine he refused any medication and told me I had to go to the ER. The physician at the ER couldn't believe he didn't give me an RX. Four hrs in the ER! What a waste of time. This location has horrible customer service. I went feeling sick and they turned me away. They made book an appt online the next day. I was charged before being seen which I had never experienced before.Was seen by Trina Ortiz-González after waiting an eternity. After my visit I began to experience other symptoms including pain. Following the discharge orders I called the number they give you. Needless to say I was placed on hold. Transferred and hung up on several times. Finally I was able to get through I offered to go back to seen by the nurse once again but they wouldn't allow it. I then called back an hour before closing time once again waiting to speak to the nurse whom I was seen by. The only one there at the location. I was placed on hold and hung up on at closing time 7:59. When I called back I got the please call back at normal business hours message. I went back since I live close and took pictures of the their clock by 8:03pm everyone was gone lights out. Mind you they close at 8:00pm If you truly need medical attention please do your self a favor and do not go there!!!! This branch really needs to be evaluated. THIS PLACE SUCKS!!!!! read more

Starting to think there is a reason urgent cares get a bad wrap..they don't actually LISTEN to their patients..after being told to come in (after web checkin), I'm brought back pretty quickly- talked to the sweet nurse lady, explained that I got a ton of water in my ears and have ear pain, congestion..no need for Covid tests, which she notes...after waiting 45 mins, the doctor (Aleithe Alvarez) finally comes in, I begin to tell her I got water in my ears on a cruise ship and she basically cuts me off once she hears 'cruise ship' and INSISTS of me taking a Covid test (even though I had no Covid symptoms), not really taking no for an answer so I said fine..take the test..wait another 20 mins for her to come in and say "you don't have Covid" and what do you know- she sees water in my ears...finally, 2 hrs later, I get to leave with a simple prescription...try listening to your patients- don't just assume everything is related to Covid...it's sad how just 1 person can ruin something and give it a bad name..the sweet nurse lady was great! read more

The doctor was very nice, but mostly was just asking what I wanted without giving suggestions. The nurse and front desk staff are incredibly rude. There are new workers every time I go in there, so they're turn-over is crazy which results in few competent workers. I've been there 3 times in the past 2 months, and they were billing me incorrectly the whole time and now I owe them a bunch of money for a mistake on their end. And for some reason, the lady explaining this to me needed to shout loud enough for the whole city to hear. read more

I cannot stress enough how much I hate this doctor office. I absolutely do no trust their judgment. After an awful experience in 2014, I vowed never to return. Then I got sick this week and after 4 days out of work decided I needed to see a doctor. I was especially worried about pneumonia, my boss having had it less than two weeks before: 10:34am- arrive at office 10:50am- called in to exam room by nurse. He swabbed my nostrils and told me he wanted to rule out flu 11:42am- "Dr." enters exam room and apologizes for long wait. She then tells me I probably have a cold because my fever is now quite the 101.5 she is accustomed to seeing in flu patients. I say: "well what about the flu test?" She replied: "we can run a flu test but I really don't..." I interject: "the nurse swabbed my nostrils and said it was a flu test!" She then tells me that he nurse didn't indicate on the chart that he'd run a flu test so she didn't know about it and would go find the results. (Remember I'm on day 4 out of work with the flu! I'm very sick and have zero energy, so I let the fact the I waited nearly an hour in an exam room for no reason) I can hear dr. and nurse talking in next room. There seems to be confusion about whether test was positive for "both A and B?" Needless to say I have the flu! Sure glad I paid a co-pay to find that out. All I really wanted to know is if I had pneumonia and I'm not even confident that I don't. I was told to come back in 10 days if cough persists. The 2014 story is even more aggravating. I was glad to find out the "Dr." I saw back then is no longer in the office's employ, as I told the receptionist I would refuse to be seen by him again. I've been here twice and have been very satisfied with the experience both times. They are clean, comfortable, friendly and fast. Both times that I've gone, I've been able to get in and see the doctor in under 20 minutes. They don't accept my insurance, and uninsured, an office visit costs around $100, which I think is very reasonable given that you'll see someone right away. (Of course it's much less expensive to go to someone in my network, but my regular doctor usually can't see me within a month of calling to schedule an appointment.) I'd recommend writing down anything that you want to ask the doctor before you go in because the visits are very quick and you're likely to forget something. However, if you just need to get in to see a doc or get a prescription, it's a safe bet that you will find this office pleasant and accommodating. read more

I know this sounds harsh, but I have to tell the truth about this place as a warning to others who might get scammed by them. They are doing a bait and switch on billing. I was there recently and paid in full for the very minimal services rendered. I had an ear infection exacerbated by TMJ. They refused to give me a prescription for muscle relaxers and I never saw a doctor, just a nurse. I paid the charge and left and then two weeks later I got a bill for another $47. Now I specifically asked them at the time I was "treated" about the charges and was told that I had paid in full. These people care about money-- that's the "care" part. What is strange about this is that I have noticed a trend in medical billing in the last 2-3 years. About 6 or 7 times when visiting doctors or urgent care clinics I am charged on site and then receive additional bills later. Sometimes I continue to receive bills and threats 4 or 5 more times even after I have paid the additional charges and called the place to confirm, etc. I believe they intentionally double and triple bill knowing that some people will just pay without complaint. Has happened too many times in two states now to be an accident. I really wish I had just gone to a doctor. Just avoid Carenow. You will not get the medicine you need. You will be overcharged. You will not be able to see a doctor. What is the point? read more

I have been to this location and others and I always have a great experience. Dr. McGinn has great bedside manners and is extremely sufficient. When I brought my 5 year old son for a visit Dr. McGinn really took her time to make him comfortable with her before examining him. She played games with her flash light and even did a check up on his bear. He really liked her and he was well treated and on his way to feeling better. If I could leave 0 stars I would. My family and I have come here before many times, but never again. On 08/24/20 I took my son in because he had warts on the bottom of his foot. I specifically wrote this on the intake sheet. The nurse practitioner walked in and said that yes those are warts, there is nothing we can do, we can't prescribe anything to him or refer him to anyone, it will go away on its own eventually. She was in the room less then a minute. We are then charged $140.00 for this,really. When I ask for a breakdown of why I am being charged this amount they say that it was put in wrong and they will void this and charge me $95.00 the minimum office visit. I understand that this is something that they don't treat but when I specifically wrote this on the intake sheet they could have let me know before seeing him and charging me for nothing. I then today receive a bill for an extra $45.00. When I go in and ask again for a breakdown of why, the front desk receptionist was very rude and literally told me the bill is just a paper. I called the billing department and they were helpful and noted that it was coded wrong and hopefully will be resolved in 30 days. I don't need a canned response from the owner or manager, just make sure you train your employees better as to not lose long time customers. I went in for the most basic visit and they billed me way more than I think is fair. This company took over the previous providers location. It was way more expensive than what I was expecting and used to. They give you a range of what it would cost. I was told it varies based on procedures and tests. But even though I got no procedures or tests they still invoice close to the max amount. BEWARE!!! I have asked multiple times for a description of the different billing codes for the basic visit and what I was billed and they have not given me that info. I think the range they give is deceptive since, in my case I feel, I was invoiced high in the range no matter how basic the visit was. It wasn't like that with the precious management. Dr was fine during visit but took a culture for my throat didn't get a call back had to call them to back to find out it was negative. Once it came back negative I asked if the dr had any other steps because current medicine did nothing. Person on the phone said she didn't know. I couldn't speak to anyone with any medical experience just the receptionist. Only way I was told to speak to her was to come back in and pay again. I was diagnosed with a double ear infection and was prescribed 10 days of antibiotics. After 7 days and worsening symptoms, I was able to schedule with my ENT. Turns out there was no sign of any infection, and a completely different diagnosis was made. What a waste of 7 days! Aside from that, the visit to PIC lasted almost 4 hours! THROAT/EAR INFECTION: Like most, I was apprehensive to visit this style of urgent care clinic because they are generally notorious for long wait times and halfhearted care. But NOT this place! The lobby was immaculate and comfortable, the receptionist patiently helped me gather my insurance information, I waited only 20 minutes before led into a room, then 10 in the room for a nurse, then 5 in the room for the NP. All in all, quicker than a visit to my GP! The nurse and NP were both direct, thorough and quick, which I appreciate. The NP was very, very nice....she listened intently and patiently to my ailment, asked good questions and had me on my protocol within 10 minutes. A few minutes later, my prescription was called in, my receipts and instructions were printed and I was on my way. I will be replacing my GP (whom I adore) with this clinic because they're quicker, closer, no more costly and equally proficient. Time (especially), cost and care quality are my main concerns and they hit the mark on all. read more
