This location is has the most unprofessional staff of any Urgent Care I've been to. I left at 2:30pm on 2/11/2026. The reception lady and NP Rhonda Lee were talking about the reason for my visit, and their disapproval of it out loud. There was another patient present as well hearing this. I sitting in the back and could still hear. This violates HIPAA law and is atrocious professional conduct. I was told that my visit would cost me $180, plus, "whatever the doctor does back there." after asked how I was going to pay. Later the receptionist asked why I couldn't be seen yesterday asking, "There wasn't anyone that could see you yesterday?" Upon leaving, the entire staff was in a group chatting and the reception didn't even know where I could find my report. I will be notifying the appropriate outlets. Horrible experience! The NP wouldn't let me talk or actually look at my symptoms. I have sores throughout my mouth and throat and before glancing at said it was viral. She treated me like I was just trying to get some antibiotics. she kept interrupting me to tell me that she needs to explain why I can't have medication, but I never asked for any, and I didn't want any! I just told her at the beginning if she were to prescribe it, I'd need amoxicillin. I told her I had shingles a few months ago on my face so I was nervous about seeing new blisters only on that side and that I had to visit the er twice because it was so bad and she asked me if I was sure if it was shingles and told me that shingles doesn't happen in your mouth. Mine did, and my face and eye and nostril. There's also specifically a type of shingles just in your mouth, so that wasn't true. So after being gaslit, interrupted and talked down to, I left more abruptly than I ever have at a doctor office. So beware, they think people are just coming in to get a prescription, they don't look at your symptoms unless you ask them to, and they don't know what they're talking about when they're interrupting you with their hand up. read more

Good for a simple Covid or flu test but that's about it. Anything that requires more is a waste of time going here. Everyone tells you different answers and the nurses just watch YouTube on their iPads in the hallway all day. read more

Not a great office. Staff is very rude. More importantly it took 3 days to get a prescription filled because the doctor kept filling out the information incorrectly. There are better options in the area, this one isn't worth your time or money. read more

Covid testing review: Good experience.I really liked my doctor who did the test, its a very unpleasant test but she made it as nice as it could be. She was really nice and answered all my questions and was very informative. Making the appt was very easy. You check in online and they call you with openings. I was able to go in at 7:45 pm, which was convenient for me. Results for antibody testing took 6 days, covid took 9. I was symptomless and had been exposed to a positive person so I just self isolated during those days, so the results do take a while but that is expected in the current climate. The doctor personally calls you with your results but you can get them faster on quest/labcorp. read more

This is a review for CareNow Urgent Care in the Lakewood area, Dallas. The nurse who attended me was very nice; unfortunately, I do not recommend this location. My husband and I went in for a PCR test needed to travel overseas. I chose that location because American Airlines recommended it on its website. The PCR test we needed had to be done 72 hrs before our flight. I checked in on their website, which advertises that they provide results in 2-3 days. I made appointment for both of us. The personnel over there reminded us that it would take 2-3 business days. I said, OK. Day of the flight arrives, and we haven't received the results yet. I had to look for another company in the Dallas area to get a rapid PCR test 4 hrs before our plane was leaving. This new place saved our trip! (a Carrollton lab). They delivered the results in less than 1 hour and we were able to arrive at the airport in time to take our flight. Today, 7 days after we went in for our PCR test, we called CareNow to ask for our money back. It has been 7 days since we took the test, and no results yet. The lady who answered the phone told us that they don't give money back, and also told us that those tests take up to 5 days (!!). We'll call on Monday to talk to the manager. If you are traveling and need a PCR test, I recommend you find another company. I don't know if all the locations are the sane, but just in case... I don't want other people to go through the stress we went through. Not worth it. read more

The FIRST time ever hearing about an outstanding bill, is a phone call from a DEBT COLLECTOR. Absolutely ridiculous!!! They said they sent a statement in the mail, but they had the wrong address. Again, their fault, we filled out the right address sitting in the office. We also provided them with both phone numbers and email addresses. NOT once can they call or send an email telling us about an outstanding bill. Why do we have to provide all that information if they can not even call or try and reach us to discuss the matter. This is sickening to me to think they get the money from Debt Collectors and still made $320 dollars for the 5 min they saw us. I hope they lose a lot more from people reading this and deciding to go elsewhere. read more

It's been four hours snd I still have not been seen, Lady should have told me the truth that it would be a long wait time. Today is Sunday, June 26, 2022. I've had a sore throat for a week and a half however I tested negative for Covid. I decided to go to the Care Now urgent care clinic which was on Lyndon B Johnson Expressway. I am from another state and not familiar with this area however when you go online to Care Now urgent care, it says that they are open so I registered online to get the first available appointment today. I drove all the way to this urgent care center only to find that it's temporarily closed for construction which means they knew about this when you go to their website to register however there is no mention that this site is temporarily closed. One hour wasted. I then decided maybe I should go to the ER and as I was driving, I get a call from Ashley from the Care Now center in Southlake which was another 20 minutes from where I was. She was very nice and said come on in and I will get you in. When I got there, it took about 20 minutes just to get to her to acknowledge and help me. Keep in mind that I had already filled out every single form online including pictures of my medicare insurance card as well as my Supplemental G insurance from United healthcare. Ashley finally started to help me but again asked for my insurance cards which I don't understand as they were all uploaded on the Care Now website which I verified. She held my insurance cards and then told me to take a seat. I sat there for another 15 minutes and finally I went up to her to ask if I may I have my cards back? Only then did Ashley proceed to tell me that she had to call her supervisor because this particular Location does not take Medicare as of last Friday (2 days ago). I was a little bewildered but she did say 2 other Care Now clinics still take it if I want to drive there. Are you kidding? Keep in mind that this is supposed to be a urgent care walk-in. So just to recap, I drive to one location that's supposed to be open and it's closed. I'm then called by one of their staff who said come to the Southlake location and we will take you in. There was no question or mentioned of insurance because keep in mind that I already uploaded everything including the front and back of all the insurance card information and my passport. This is absolutely the worst run medical care center that I have ever dealt with. To waste my time by driving to one location only to find out it's closed then get a call from one of their staff telling me that it's closed and to come to her and then only to find out they will not take Medicare. How disgusting! I strongly urge others who would like to get some healthcare to not bother with Care Now urgent care centers because you will be extremely disappointed. read more

I do not understand the bad reviews. This was AMAZING. I apparently have pneumonia. I was given all the right meds and given the best care by not only the PA, but staff. They genuinely care and listen. I grew up in hospitals and doctors offices. My mom worked in a hospital for 20 years. My dad, grandpa, and uncle were all super high ranking officers. My brother is a paramedic/ chief fire fighter. My maternal grandparents were rns and medics during the Korean War. I know enough to be dangerous and have dealt with a LOT of idiot doctors. This wonderful PA was brilliant. She listened to my needs, understood my allergies to meds and what works and what doesn't. I almost passed out and she took me to a bed right by her office to make sure to keep an eye on me and check my vitals. She said I could stay as long as I need. Not the most welcoming at the front. The nurse that took me back was not nice what so ever. I tried to make small talk and she would hardly speak to me. After being charged $190, I simply wanted a pcr test since I had been exposed. Yes she chose to give me a rapid test and hardly put the swab inside my nose. Let me start by saying, the receptionists are fine by me, even the nurse lady that I encountered yesterday. I don't know their names but thank you. However, the doctor working there must be new, because she clearly doesn't know much about our rights and her job. Her voice was sweet but she lacks the ability to listen to her patients. CareNow. More like: Does Not Care. At All. The front desk clerk could literally not care any less. I came here with my son as a last case scenario - but moving forward I would rather pay an arm and a leg to go out of network than to ever come back to this place. The doctor who saw us was emotionless and cold. Just an overall terrible experience that could have gone so much better for myself and my sick son had the personnel been at all friendly or caring. Let me start off by saying I went to the carenow lakewood on a weekend for personal issues as I am asked for a urine sample I see a man hanging around the nurse station making it very uncomfortable for me as a patient the nurse didn't seem to mind if I'm Not mistaken it was her friend as she is rooming me she has minimal interaction with me as she seemed off im not sure how the clinic runs but I found it to be extremely unprofessional to have your spouse at work the front desk and provider provided good service's as of the nurse the clinic needs a replacement. read more

During the rise of the Delta Varriant, ALL healthcare facilities are slammed and this come from personal experience. The least I expected from CareNow was was professional and efficient, not engaging. Think "just the fact ma'am". The front desk person looked like she was doing the jobs of three people and yet she was exceptionally courteous and genuinely seemed to care that I felt like crap. The PA was the same. I highly recommend them and Will go back in a heart beat if needed. read more

I called to inquire they said come in after that we still waited to over an hour in waiting room. They are so slow and inefficient.Instead of Care Now should be called Care later!! read more

Staff is incompetent and does not have any empathy about the patients. My daughter had a car accident and hit her head. She has been under my insurance for over 10 years, our copay is $15 for urgent care. She walked into this location looking for care and an employee called Frenchie stated that she would only be seen if she would pay upfront $205. She said that was a recent change made on March 1st. I tried to talk to her and explain that there was a mistake, and she felt offended and said that there was no way that the copay was $15, and that I could call corporate. We called another care now close by that knew what they were doing, we went there instead and they charged us the correct amount of $15. Unprofessional and unprepared personnel like Frenchie shouldn't be in the health care businesses. She was sarcastic wishing my daughter a "nice day" when she left. I'm still waiting for corporate to contact me back. Please be more careful on your hiring process. read more

Walked in tonight 10/8 and didn't realize there are two Care Nows on Abrams road. I went to the wrong one. However, I had all of my registration done electronically. She told me I was out of luck and that they had seen all the patients they would see for the day. This is 30 minutes before they closed and absolutely no one waiting to be seen. Lazy and rude. I even called another Care Now who said what happened was completely inappropriate per their policy. read more

Had the worst experience ever at the CareNow in Dallas Lakewood. The female doctor was very unprofessional. Spoke very condescending to me like I was ignorant of my son's eye issue. Made us feel like we were idiots for thinking their was a problem even though I told her this has been going on for a couple of weeks. She dismissed me and spoke to me as if I was ignorant and had no idea what I was talking about. I think I know my son and see the swelling and redness. And guess what doctor, the next day his eye was swollen again, red and nearly shut. You need better bedside manners or go to an area of town that you want to work in because clearly you are not happy at this Carenow. I esp like the fact that we saw you at 2pm, but to be even more disrespectful, you chose to have the prescription ready for the next day. Just absolutely rude! The first day I signed up to be it in line to have a Covid-19 test, and to get have a doctor look at my lung. I was short of breath and in allot of pain. (Due to what I know now... pneumonia) After 4 hours of waiting around, I had come in to try and reschedule my appointment in person because I had to work (from home). I was lectured on how I couldn't do that and how EVERYONE was waiting 4hrs. Finally I came back the next morning in a worse condition the pneumonia was putting me in a ton of pain. I was tested for COVID-19 no hurry even though I was exhibiting sever symptoms. The doctor was nice although I was miss diagnosed for my pain and eventually I just had to go to the ER to find out what was going on. When I mentioned I was paying out of pocket their whole demeanor changed and even two weeks later I still haven't received my Covid test results. The front doesn't respond to my inquiries about it and try and pawn lack of results on the lab, and no one ever checked up on my progress even though I had to take some follow up test. So lesson is, if you have health insurance and you're healthy otherwise go here. If you have a real health problem or want to get test results back for Covid-19 please find another place to get treated. read more

I had to go here for a drug test for a new job. I had specific paperwork, containing the address of the location, the dates that I had to go, which were between two days, and a barcode that had to be scanned for the specific location. I called 30 minutes before I went there to make sure that there was a provider or person there to do my drug test as it was due that day, they said yes, there was, and I took an Uber there ready to go. When I got there, the worker, Cindy, told me that there was no provider to do my test and that she knew that it didn't matter where I go because she had done this for years. She was so rude, I explain to her that I had to go to The specific location that I had specific instructions to this location. She told me that I should've had several days, I said it didn't matter. I had two days and I'm coming today. Yesterday I had a seizure, I have epilepsy. She told me it did not matter and I needed to go to a different location. I asked her to write that down on paper that she was sending me to another location and she said she would not because I might not go to that location. I told her that I needed this in writing as I knew that I cannot just go to any location, she refused. I even told her that she could write that she told me to go to the other location, and that I was going to that other location and I told her that I was going. She again refused, and it was a hard time to even get her name. I called another Uber and left. I had to call the company that's doing my background check and yes, I did need new paperwork to go to the other location just like I told her, she was completely wrong absolutely rude, and I would never go there even if my children were dying. I went to the other location and they were very nice, completely understood that I need a specific paperwork as they had done this a lot just like the other woman said who was completely wrong about everything. Had I listen to her and not called my company, who was closing in 20 minutes, I would not have been able to even get this job. Do not go here. She was absolutely rude to me, and my daughter, discarded us and would not even give me the correct information. I'm about 20 years older than her so the life that I've lived. I kind of know how these things go. I don't care what field she's on she was absolutely wrong. I am really glad that I used my brain and not hers because hers was working on half a brain cell. read more

Went there four times for a series of injections. I don't have insurance, meaning that I'm required to pay the full amount before I leave the clinic, which is fine and what I did. However, twice I was mailed bills for remaining amounts. I called the billing office after the first one and they said it had been a mistake and took care of it. After the second time, I called again and this time they said it showed I only paid a portion of the amount due. How? If I don't have insurance I have to pay the full amount. They didn't have any explanation, just that I needed to pay it. I went to Care Now at Abrams to get a copy of my receipt and all they gave me was practically the same file saying that only a portion was paid. Again, no explanation about how that could have happened and that I just need to pay. So, what I've learned is that it doesn't matter if you pay the full amount they tell you at the time, they can just send you a bill for another random amount and no one has to have any responsibility about explaining why. How about, after this happened twice, someone at billing COMMUNICATES with the clinic to find out where a mistake was made instead of making the patient call and run around trying to find out why I'm getting charged more after paying what they were told was the total amount. I went to Care Now because they were convenient and had (I thought) better prices. Now I know it's more worth it to pay a little more and go to the CVS Minute Clinic who actually knows what they're doing. read more

The doctor was amazing but I don't understand why a licensed doctor can't give results over the phone. I understand a nurse not being able to but for someone who can't get back into the location to see if I have something their more off to let someone walk around and not know results. This is an extremely huge inconvenience. So now instead of getting proper care or a prescription to fix an issue if there is one I have to wait until I'm able to make it back over to the location. How is this caring for people. This is insane!! read more

BE WARNED! Do not use Care Now for Covid testing for travel. They said they could get my results back before travel and we still don't have results and leave for Bahamas tomorrow. American has "partnered" with Care Now for this testing and recommended we go there. Do not know what this means if they cannot turn results around in 4 days? They should NOT be taking peoples money for this. I called 3 other clinic today that can do same day turnaround. Dr. Owen Ulmer was very attentive and personable. The wait was longer than anticipated but was appreciative that Dr. Ulmer acknowledged it and apologized for it. The rest of the staff were courteous and professional. The facility was clean and tidy. TVs available in rooms for entertainment while waiting. Would return to this urgent care center. read more
