Shannon at Cargo Creative came as a recommendation from my wedding venue, and after my experience I am thinking that maybe she was put on the preferred vendor list awhile ago and isn't nearly as amazing as she must have been before. I think that's why most of the reviews are 6-7 years old. My experience with Shannon started by her scheduling a call with me and then not calling or answering, it took forever to finally get on the phone with her. I thought this was a bad sign, but eventually we did talk on the phone and she asked great questions and it seemed like it could be a great fit. We received a quote (which took awhile too), signed the agreement and thought everything would be great on the wedding day. First of all, she was not able to come to my venue on my wedding day (but I was charged for travel for two people) and I was never told that she was not there. Her assistant was rude, barely there, and unreachable throughout the day. I didn't even meet her assistant until she was leaving and she was super rude to my brother and some of my wedding guests. The arch at my wedding was nothing like the picture Shannon and I had discussed, my bouquet was much smaller than we discussed, she forgot all of the corsages for our mothers and grandmothers, the boutonnieres were nothing special, there were no flowers on my cake (as we discussed). We were supposed to repurpose my arch into a circle for my sweetheart table and the assistant apparently had to leave and wasn't able to do that. So, there were no flowers on my sweetheart table (like discussed) and the circle was not behind the table. It was a complete disappointment and definitely not worth the $6,000 we spent on flowers. I actually had some of my guests saying how "sad and naked" my cake looked and how "undecorated" my sweetheart table was. It was embarrassing. The wedding florals were a disappointment, but I think the worst part is the way Shannon handled my mom reaching out about being disappointed. My mom contacted Shannon after my wedding to express her disappointment and Shannon came back and pretty much blamed everything on us and apologized for nothing. She offered to give us about $300 back. It was not about the money. It was about the lack of communication, our wedding flowers not being what we agreed on and paid for, not even telling us she wasn't going to be on site, and then the complete lack of apology or compassion. Then after a couple of emails back and forth, my mom said she didn't need the money back and Shannon came back and continued to rant about how this was our fault, so rude and completely unprofessional. In fact, Shannon was unprofessional from the start and the flowers at my wedding were not worth what we paid. She was not even at the venue and didn't even tell us she wasn't going to be there until after we complained (the Monday after the wedding). I think maybe Shannon used to be a fantastic florist (6-7 years ago), but after my experience and especially how she handled our communication post-wedding, I would not recommend her services to anyone. This was a disappointment and then she was so rude after, which is what lead me to leave this review. read more
