TL;DR if you want a beautiful, fresh, unique, and elegant arrangement, and don't want to spend hundreds on something that looks like it came from Vons, COME TO FRENCH BUCKETS! French Buckets will be my go-to florist in the OC area from now on. I'll start off by saying I have REALLY high expectations for ordering flowers. I dabble in floral arrangements myself and I know good flowers. I can't stand ordering from a florist and getting a standard bouquet with red/pink roses you could buy at any supermarket. In addition, a good friend of mine is a florist in the LA area and she was always my go-to because her arrangements were gorgeous, distinctive, and looked like a work of art. I never thought I would find a comparable (dare I say, better?) florist in OC, until I ordered from French Buckets. I purchased a STUNNING arrangement for my mom's birthday from French Buckets a few days after Christmas (photos below). I could not have been happier with it. 3 days later and the arrangement still incredibly fresh, even the hydrangeas, which are known to wilt quickly. Thank you French Buckets! People contemplating ordering flowers in the OC area...don't hesitate to order from French Buckets! It's a little pricey but compared to other florists in the area where you get a standard bouquet for close to the same price, this place is above and beyond standard. My mom's birthday is just a few days after Christmas so I called a few places in the area to make sure I wasn't going to get Christmas leftover flowers. Specifically, I was looking for garden roses and a one-of-a-kind arrangement. The few places I called before trying French Buckets told me they didn't have garden roses due to it being right after a major holiday and their decision to not stock as many flowers in their shop. This obviously made me nervous because I felt I was going to get old, leftover Christmas flowers for upwards of $150. Then I called French Buckets and to my surprise the woman I spoke to (I believe she's the owner) didn't seem to be the least bit phased by my requests for garden roses and a unique, full, arrangement. She was also willing to spend time on the phone with me to describe the flowers she had in stock and make sure I would be happy with the arrangement. This is the kind of service I expect when you are spending $200 on an arrangement. French Buckets met and exceeded my expectations. French Buckets came through with some of the most unique rose colors I've seen (along with every other varietal in the arrangement). Every stem in this arrangement was special, fresh, and timeless. The arrangement is classic, elegant and the flower placement was on point - I was in awe when it arrived! Simply put, French Buckets is a floral art. The owner is clearly an ARTIST and it shows in the arrangements. Plus they delivered the same day I ordered. 100% worth any extra cost compared to other florists in the area. read more

We were referred over to French Buckets since the company that we typically use was unable to do the flowers for our baby shower. First off the communication in the beginning was painful. We called multiple times and finally were able to order our flowers. We sent several pictures for inspiration on the style and vibe we were going for. We discussed adding greenery/pine since the date of the baby shower was two weeks after the new year. A few weeks prior we emailed and said we decided against any sort of pine and the owner acknowledged and said there would be no pine in the arrangements. The day of the baby shower when the flowers were left on our door step without the driver even speaking to us or placing the arrangements where they were supposed to go.. 50% of the arrangement was pine with a few flowers. We were very unimpressed with the simplicity of the arrangements especially after spending close to $900 . We let the owner know and she apologized and sent us a nice flower arrangement. The thought was nice but honestly would have preferred a partial refund not more flowers considering we had so many arrangements at our house already. All in all not impressed and very dissatisfied with this company. read more

I've used FB flowers twice now and I've never been more impressed and please with a florist as I am with them. We just moved to the area and no matter where I've lived, I always try to find my go to florist for sending creations that best represent my love and appreciation for others. I was in charge of flowers for a very special memorial service from a lot of my former colleagues. I wanted them to be very special. Not living in the area (anymore), I found French Buckets on Yelp and was very happy with Susanna's great service! Susanna listened to what we needed and made sure to make our arrangement extra special. She also delivered the flowers herself the morning of the service, which was impressive! The arrangement had many types of flowers and was unique in that it was not your "everyday" type - "you see one, you've seen them all" arrangement. This one had personality and was colorful and asymmetrical (in a good way). We asked for a small card with a message that stuck out and we got it. Susanna was wonderful to wok with. This Valentine was a big disappointment for me. I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my husband for Valentine's day before 10 am. When I called them at 1 pm to check order status, They then said that my husband will receive before 4 PM however, it was delivered near 6 pm, which was the time that he would get off work. Moreover, I put down a message on the card they had provided, but when it was delivered to my husband that message was nowhere to be found. The gorgeous white fully opened roses were stunning and the addition of a few white dahlias (with buds) added another texture. I'm one of those people who tries to stay away from stress in the last few months by doing EVERYTHING as soon as possible. When we booked our venue, they gave us a list of preferred vendors to help us find people who were familiar with the venue. After finding French Buckets on the preferred vendor list and seeing the 5-star reviews, I called and left a voicemail in June, then sent them an email a week later requesting some more information. I figured they were busy with all the summer weddings, so a follow-up email should suffice. They never got back to me. Not to my voicemail, not to my email. I wrote an email but French Buckets owner Sussanna never replied. I then decided to call and was able to get an appointment set. I sat down, with my fiance, excited to get to meet Sussanna. Actually, she was very kind and seemed like she would make an excellent floral artist for our wedding! Seeing pictures of her work made me think so as well (I'm sure she would deliver in that sense). The meeting was fun; she was very respectful and even funny. However, I left without a solid vision of what types of floral arrangements could be done at my wedding with my proposed but flexible budget. To top it off, Sussanna she'd get a quote to me but never did. Had me really bummed. I e-mailed her as well to remind her. It's been a while and no response. This being the case, I'm a little worried to contact her again because I don't want a timeliness mishap to transpire on my big day, so I've decided to go with another florist. Darn! My boyfriend called and spoke with the owner yesterday to order some flowers for our 1 year anniversary. He explained to her that I wanted pink and that's really all I like. This is very true about me. When the flowers were delivered I was of course happy because there was a delivery for me! I asked my BF why he would send me orange flowers knowing I detest orange, coral, peach etc. he then told me how much time he spent on the phone explaining what I wanted. He said the owner Insisted I would love the arrangement and it's close to pink. It's nothing at all like pink! It's coral and orange. I'm super bummed out for both of us. He tried really hard to get me something special I would love. I know these were ridiculously expensive. I wish she had listened and made an arrangement with colors he asked for. I need to add another thing here. Nobody answers phones, messages or emails at this place. Now do you run a business? And after 3 days the flowers are all wiled and dying. I used French Buckets for my wedding on 8/5/11 and I Absolutely Loved My Flowers! I was referred to Sussanna of French Buckets by my wedding planner. I was wanting a colorful Mexican style wedding in San Juan Capistrano. During my first meeting with Sussanna I was over joyed with happiness, she described and knew exactly the look I wanted. Sussanna is so creative and has so many good ideas. She worked so well with my venue, wedding planner, and cake baker. During our first mock up I loved the centerpiece example she brought but with the way the tablecloths turned out it started to look fall like for a summer wedding. Sussanna tweaked a few things worked with the new color palate after changing up the table linens and adding our own lace runners to give more texture. I was so amazed at how well the tables turned out during the wedding! The centerpieces were beautiful. My Bouquet is the most beautiful collection of flowers and botanicals I have ever seen - and it was all mine for one night, a beautiful trophy for a bride to carry - I didn't want to put it down. Most of all Sussanna was so nice and patient with a sometimes difficult but means well family member who also brought in some flowers and decor to the wedding.
