I'm unsurprised that they have horrible reviews since I also had a terrible experience shopping there today. I intended to leave with a few bags from here since I like their clothing, but a substandard employee rudely asked me to put the clothes I was about to purchase back where I found them. I was shocked, to say the least. We had a short verbal exchange, and I decided to walk out on what would've been a sizeable purchase for them and a much-needed refresh to my wardrobe. I will never step foot in that store again and do not recommend anyone else to waste their time. I will be making a complaint to their corporate office as well. read more

Went to carhartt on la brea yesterday It was honestly the absolute worst retail shopping experience I've ever had. To begin with, we walk in and immediately see what looks like an employee with a ridiculous ski mask on. I don't know about you, but this look isn't very professional nor does it make you feel like you can approach & get help from this person. He didn't greet us even though he watched us walk in, & no one asked us if we needed help. At all. We asked two other guys for help with sizing and one didn't even care to look my boyfriend in the face when he was talking to him & the other couldn't have looked anymore inconvenienced when we asked for his help. I didn't see anyone else even be asked if they needed help & honestly no one In there looked comfortable at all. There were 3 people there that were hardly noticeable employees that were anything, but helpful around 4-4:30pm. The vibe in this store is anything but what you would expect it to be in the worst way. It legitimately feels as though they are trying to not get the store sales by having this terrible attitude. The fact that this store/brand hasn't done a thing about the crappy employees just says a lot about how much they are about customer satisfaction. Do they even read or care about how awful their reviews and customer experiences are? Obviously not if there have been constant nonstop horrible reviews on all their review platforms. Don't waste your time with this awful store. Shop online or don't. I wouldn't blame you. read more

Came here and was welcome by the staff at the front. After having a hard time finding some cool pants for a gift, the gentleman got to work and gave me options and then chose something. They were also nice enough to inform me that there is no refunds but I can come back and exchange if it doormat fit . They were all very nice and helpful and will continue shopping here read more

Staff mostly ignore you and just talk to each other while watching the TV screen. They almost seem like they are inconvenienced when asked questions. Love the clothes though. read more

I shopped here for birthday presents last Sunday and the experience was a really good one. It was a chill atmosphere despite a crowd outside waiting on Undefeatd's Larry June up and down LaBrea. All I can say is "Yikes". I get that the store was shoplifted while I was there but the stares I got mixed with the overall miserable atmosphere was really off putting. I was hoping to find some pants, basic pieces as far as Carhartt is concerned. Most basic pieces start at $90 from what I noticed. I like the quality, but it wasn't I was expecting. It looks like this branch of the brand is gearing more towards the young, wealthy Fairfax crowd and skaters who now have kids and make good coin but wanting to keep in trend. They didn't have the size I was looking for in the original pants I was looking at, but there was a regular tapered fit I was interested in too. The girl mentioned it was a different fit, I knew that but was already so put off that I just wanted to find something that fits, pay, and leave. The dressing rooms were also off putting, didn't feel like I had much privacy with the curtains constantly being moved and sometimes opened more? It was just off. The pants fit perfect, felt good, but at that point I just bought them out of spite. By the time I got home I still felt gross after the experience, and ended up looking at the receipt because I just wanted to return them and get my money back. I realized at that point they are final sale and only good for exchange/store credit. I won't be returning, even for that, because just being there was such a bummer. So I went online and just ordered a few pairs that I needed. This was possibly the most cliche Los Angeles experience I've ever had. Thanks for the overpriced Carhartt pants, but I won't be returning even for an exchange. Side note, I've worked in luxury retail, and this is not how you do it. I honestly don't fault that staff as much as I fault whoever thought it would be a good idea to try to make Carhartt into such a pretentious, boutique, painfully Fairfax experience. read more

I used to work retail and know that 99% of the job is good customer service so I'm not sure how all of the employees at this location missed the mark. One of the girls working (brown mid length hair, bangs) was so off putting and rude with every aspect of her "service" - checking sizes in the back, ringing me up, even looking customers up and down with a dirty look. The attitude and facial expressions of the girl with brown hair and bangs who's name I unfortunately did not get at the register made my shopping experience terrible... I asked her for a size and she said she'd check the back, but did not even show me that she was trying to help me, so I asked a different staff member.
