I did the usual thing: looked up reviews, sent out requests through Google and Yelp, and got back a flood of responses and calls. It was overwhelming, but after speaking with a few companies, David immediately stood out. He was the only one who came across as a true expert, and he freely shared detailed information just to be helpful, even before I'd committed to working with him. I got a great vibe right away. Even though I live in Seattle, I drove out to his business in Sammamish to get my car worked on. Because of the particular situation with my car, he had to order parts and went 1000% above and beyond throughout the process. I trusted him with my car, and the service he provided was just outstanding and the best car experience I've ever had. He got the job done perfectly, and his communication every step of the way was fantastic. Repeat customer, new problem. David helped me out again. My same VW was having ignition problems. The key refused to come out of the car. I checked all the keys, and it was all of them. Both the original and the keys David made for me. A quick internet search came up with a common problem with the ignition. He was able to have flexible drop off and pick up since this one took a bit longer. My car is back up and running again. read more

They went out of their way to ensure I was satisfied with the results of service, dealing with a Volkswagen lost jey which is notoriously difficult to duplicate. I don't give gratuitous reviews but I cannot recommend Carhax and owner David highly enough. From the very beginning the communication was clear. If I could give 15 * I would! David runs his business like you want everyone to run a business, customer first, solves problems as they come up, and is always offering to do more. My F150 had a bad PATS issue and the rebuilt instrument panel was corrupted. He offered to not charge me after driving 30 minutes and fighting with it for over an hour. After getting an cluster that worked he came back out, reprogrammed the truck, reset all of my keys and found a new TPMS issue that should have not happened. The next day I drove out to his shop and he fixed issues with the TPMS system the Bellevue Ford had created. He had clearly researched the problems between visits and had a depth of knowledge that as a complete geek and hacker I appreciated. read more

I got 2 ODM program key copy's fast with great quality, and on top of that he gave me insurance for my keys incase I had any issues he would fix them for free. This is an honest and genuine person that really has your best interests in mind when making keys, programming remotes, or whatever. I needed a couple of remotes programmed and a key cut for my 2009 VW Beetle. I bought one on Amazon and the other on Ebay. I don't usually write reviews, but after working with David (the owner of CarHax) to fix/replace my car door lock cylinder, I understand why he has so many great reviews already. David was very accommodating, responsive, and transparent about my car door's lock troubles. He obviously has a lot of experience in this field and not only does he clearly care a lot about what he does but also, how to do it well. My car door's lock cylinder appeared to be broken into, and he was able to rekey a brand new lock cylinder to match my current keys, and then offered to install it for no additional cost (I purchased the new part online). He also fixed a part of the door lock actuator that a previous mechanic had messed up replacing. David was able to replace the lock cylinder and get everything fixed up in less than an hour after he finished rekeying it. Before he rekeyed the new lock, he was very clear about what he had to do and the risks involved with the service in case it doesn't work out. He offered several alternative options that would be feasible if the new lock cylinder didn't work out, and I appreciated the transparency. I hope I don't need to go back to his services again (bc that would mean someone attempted to break into my car again), but if I ever do need lock services again, David will 100% be the first person I'll call. Best customer service I've ever had. In a world where they are looking for $500-$700 to copy a car key, David takes care of you. He asks what you need, offers suggestions in a professional manner (no pressure) and provides word class customer service. His prices are much more reasonable than anywhere else I looked and I when I walked out, I felt comfortable with the price and service. If you can bring your car too his shop you obviously get a better price but he does have mobile service as well. David does great work and has worked on several cars in the last 8 years. He properly diagnosed my Nissan Xterra and fixed it for less than $200. This was after a local shop and Issaquah couldn't figure it out and wanted to charge me over $2600 to basically replace everything. The truck had 186,000 miles on it . This was a big deal because I needed to sell it. It's hard to sell anything that runs crappy. So I took it to David and he was able to diagnose and fix it for 200.00.
