With my sweet 2013 Valentine along with his brother-in-law, we elected takeout for a whole chicken with yellow rice, salad with beet all totally approximately $50.00. Who puts beet in their salad? MEH. Neither of us request beet in our salad as it was automatically dumped in. Beet reminisce me of my former love's mother of Saltibarsciai, a traditional Lithuanian cold beet soup. Beet is not for everyone's individual taste or liking as I do not consume beet in any shape or form as it ain't to my liking. The chicken was prepared as rotisserie style, nothing uniquely Spanish as I'd hoped, but was very moist and somewhat salty. The yellow Spanish rice also leans on the salty side. This Caridad lies in East Tremont in the Bronx but sadly no Ceviche. It serves as a local hangout for the community and opens late. Atmospheric conditions are multiple TV screens all viewing Spanish sports. Seating is ample where the tables are embedded with the local favorite, NY Yankees player (past or present). This restaurant appeared somewhat empty on a Friday night. It appears to be dark, but clean and staff are fluent in Spanish as well as English. A bar in the corner of the restaurant serve patrons of mostly middle-aged men whose highlight of the week is a whiskey or a brandy to dispense their former glory life's adventures to anyone who listen staving off a mental breakdown. All alcohol genres at the bar are served in Snifter glasses. All patrons are subject to disclose valid photo identification in accordance with NYS law of age 21+ to be served. There were no Churros either as I have a craving for Churro covered with warm chocolate. I wanted to try Cuchifrito con Ajo (Puerto Rican style) but sadly my party of three opt for chicken, salad and yellow rice. Caridad managed to provide me with the worst lunch experience I have ever had in my life. My girlfriend ordered food for me off of Seamless, to be delivered to my school while I was working, so it would be ready when I got my lunch break. The order included clear instructions to leave the food with the secretary of the school I work at and provided the driver with two numbers to call if I didn't pick up (because I have no service in my school). My food was supposed to be delivered at 1:15. The driver called my phone once at 1:26, and then, when I didn't pick up (because I had no service and wouldn't even see the phone call until 1:45), he left. He didn't enter the school or talk to the secretaries or call either of the two numbers provided to him, he just left. When I went on my lunch break at 1:35, I called the restaurant, because my food was now 20 minutes late and still hadn't been delivered, and I only had half an hour to eat it in the first place. After I asked them to bring it back, the driver proceeded to call me and yell at me for not answering my phone, while he ignored every direction given to him in the instructions. Yelling at me for your ignorance and dumbassery? That's completely out of line. It took him another 15 minutes to bring the food back. By the time it got to me, the food had grown cold, and I only had 15 minutes left on my lunch break to eat. Then, I assume because I had called the restaurant and complained to a manager, rather than let me sit down and enjoy the luke-warm meal in the little time I had left, the driver blew up my phone and demanded I bring him down the paper that order had originally been printed on, since his manager had asked him to bring it back to the restaurant. Taking the stupid paper down to him cost me another 10 minutes, so, sure enough, I was left with 5 minutes to eat my cold, congealed turd of a meal. The manager never called back and simply offered lame apologies for it being late. I have never experienced service this bad (how the fuck do you call a customer and yell at them when you're the half-wit that doesn't read his fucking delivery instructions?) or a response so disappointing from the restaurant. I sat down in this restaurant a 12 noon today to eat lunch. The waitress saw me but did not come over to take my order. 10 minutes later 2 other customers came in and sat down and she immediately took care of them. Served them their food in a matter of 1 minute. 5 minutes later another customer walked in and sat down. She immediately helped him too. So I`m already sitting there for 15 minutes with the waitress ignoring me. She then goes over to 2 other tables and hands them their checks.
