So I came here because I saw it online and I must say I was shocked. I love Chinese Spanish places because it is my favorite mix. So first the place is a neighborhood place, so it is a simple nostalgic experience. We ordered a couple of things, I got general tso chicken with pork fried rice, my niece ordered a shrimp dish, I also order soup and a house special lo mein. The general tso chicken was really good, it was flavorful and the chicken was crispy. The lo mein was also good. The shrimp dish from my niece was ok but I would not order it again. The soup was also good but I would have liked it with noodles. The service was good, the waiter was attentive and kept checking on us. The place is old style and simple. There were a lot of families there eating. I would definitely one back and try other dishes. read more

So I went here with a friend for lunch of course because of the hype. I personally was not impressed. I personally do not have an issue with the interior because it is a "chinos" in the BX. I personally did not care how serivice would be because again its a "chinos" in the Bx. However the customer was very good but did not go looking for it. The food was simply ok. My friend got pepper steak that was very salty. And I did a hood classic; fried chicken wings and house friend rice. My chicken taste like any other chicken from a local chinos. But the rice was really good. I also found to be a little over priced. 2 meals with tip was $50, House fried rice with chicken wings and pork fried rice with pepper steak with a can coke and can ginger ale. El Pabellon Del Oro is some pretty above-average Spanish-Chinese (if I can even call it that quite frankly) fusion food that has some good options, especially in the area that it's in. I had the Chinese soup which consisted of meat and some veggies as well as the shrimp & broccoli in garlic sauce. The latter was definitely better than the former but both were alright. All in all, I don't know if I'd be unopposed to trying it again but I wouldn't go out of my way for it as it's nothing special. read more

Every trip back home requires a visit to old faithful El Pabellon. This restaurant has been here for over 30 years. Same place, same family owned. They serve the absolute, in our humble opinion, the best house special lo mein we've ever tasted. I mean this thing is sooo good. Flavorful, smoky, chock full of big chunks of chicken, steak and cooked just right shrimp. The large is large, no small portions here. The place looks the same. Big seating area. And take heed, CASH ONLY. Before, if you forgot, you had to dip across the street to the bank but there is now an ATM. The prices have gone up, but gradual not crazy. Small $12 and Large $21. When I was here in June 2024, it was $20. Parking is metered. Double park at your own risk. read more

Authentic old school Chinese food with Latin flavors, i bought a chicken and broccoli with chicken fry rice and 4 chicken wings, the flavor was amazing. I will recommend to give them a try. The service was cool, the dudes behind the counter greeted me, took my order and within 10/15 mins my food was out. The style of the restaurant was cool, they had good seating and a live tank with lobster, what Chinese spit you know had that, but again it's Latin infuse, so i guess. Overall the food was good, the place was an old school gem, if I had to recommend anything to the owners, a little renovation goes a long way, may increase business. read more

I've only gone to Chinese Spanish restaurants in Queens and Brooklyn and this location is definitely on my recommended list! I loved the food and the service was superb! The waiters were fast and friendly. One thing I didn't really like was the fact that it's cash only & they don't serve cocktails/frozen drinks like other Chinese Spanish restaurants that I've gone to in Queens & BK. We were served in good timing and my boyfriend and stepson loved their ice tea! I def liked how the food wasn't greasy and filled me up! I will definitely be coming back here. I also was starving so the food tasted amazing! The ambiance and atmosphere is pretty chill. You can calmly eat your meal and drink without anyone bothering you. The food is usually good. I have been to this restaurant maybe a dozen times over the years but I'm usually not nearby too often but when I am nearby I make it a point to stop in for lunch or dinner, even if I only have time to take out. I usually get the general tso's combination plate, which is general tsos chicken, fried rice and egg roll. It comes out to $19 which isn't cheap for a lunch meal. It's one of the only old school Chinese restaurants left I in the Bronx. The last 3 times I went, including today, he didn't give me an egg roll. He told me they have no more egg rolls and then he says, I give you more fried rice, then he proceeds to give me the same amount of fried rice he always gives me. I really wanted an egg roll. If you aren't going to serve egg rolls any more than take it off the menu and reduce the price. It's not complicated. Don't lie to your customers. We aren't stupid. You didn't "fool me". So now I gave it a one star review and I will probably not go back there for at least a year or two. And when people ask me about the place I will tell them it sucks because you left a bad taste in my mouth. On top of this the fried rice was incredibly bland. I used to really like this place, it's too bad. I'm sure they have lots of customers. They don't need me. Until they do. I would think this is bad luck for them, especially during Lunar New Year. read more

It was okay i had better spanish chinese food like flor de mayo but wanted to check this spot out. service was kind and the food came out relatively quick. i wouldn't recommend this and won't come back here. the quality of the food is not up to par and felt a little unclean to be honest. the location is not in a safe area either. after eating i ddint feel like myself. i got the steak and shrimp which was drenched in oils and butter. the beef broccoli was full of msg and tasted way too salty. the price came out to fifty dollars and it was not worth it whatsoever. i would avoid this place read more

This is a go-to for our family. We visit this restaurant about 3-4 times a year. Great food and service. I especially love the fried pork chops with pork fried rice. Not much in terms of decor and ambiance. And soemtiems the flatware isn't thoroughly cleaned but plastic disposable cutlery is always available. Great for families with kids or large parties. We have been coming here for years but the food and service is no longer up to par as it was before. The last time we visited was 2 months ago and tostones were greatly and pork chops were dry. Not to mention the steak my son ordered was well done when he asked for medium. The flan, which I've always loved was off. Decided to try again today. There was barely any air in the place. Their thermostat said 84 degrees. It was 86 degrees outside. The waiter did just that, waiter. We weren't brought any water or offered to take our beverage order for 10 mins. When he did he brought 3 glasses of water. There were 5 of us. The food was unsatisfactory yet again. The General Tso chicken was more like sesame chicken without the sesame seeds, the broiled fish lacked its usual savoriness and the maduros actually looked like dried and shriveled. We also ordered the squid fried rice and it had not squid. Perhaps just the ink. We will not be going back. Not only bec of the food but bec it was uncomfortably and dangerously hot. read more
