This by far is the worst restaurant ive ever gone for takeout. The amount of food that they give you for what you pay does not correlate. And even at that the food "freshly" made was not good whatsoever. First and last time ill be ordering from this place. Literal thiefs. They only give you 5 pieces of tostones and 5 pieces of shrimp for 28$. Also, the churrasco does not feel fresh for 38$ with 5 tostones as well. Had i known, i would have never tipped 9$. Waste of money.

Been here twice now and the food is EXCELLENT! Their garlic sauce that they pour over the mofongo is addictive and to die for! Although portions may seem small, the meals are quite filling, but kind of pricey considering the amount of food you are getting. Service? Both visits have been kinda poor to be honest. Most recently it took our party of 3 about 15 minutes to get an order in and another 45minutes just to receive the tostones appetizer... soo maybe my review the food may be slightly skewed by the increased hunger that developed as we waited (kidding the food is great!). After finishing our meal the bus boys were quick to clear our EMPTY plates, but we sat at an empty table for about 5-10minutes (while guests were waiting to be seated) before we could get a check and pay. I was quite disappointed that for a table of 3 the restaurant charged us an automatic gratuity of 20% considering the poor service and no signs or notifications of an automatic gratuity charge. This location is rather small and I would not recommend it for any group larger than 4 people. Hopefully you have some hand sanitizer with you because the bathroom was pretty dirty for a restaurant. My poor rating is based on service, ambiance, and price (including the automatic gratuity). The food however will keep me coming back... at least the next time I feel like spending about $40-50 a person for dinner, AMAZING GARLIC SAUCE, and poor service.

Food was amazing, esthetics felt like I was in Dominican Republic. Drinks go for the "flow pasión" and the "morir bebiendo"

This is a restaurant that I've been coming here a lot and eaten a variety of their dishes. And I can express that this is somewhere you want to eat at while in Little Italy in the Bronx. My two favorite dishes are the Tostones Sliders because it is a take on the classic cheeseburger sliders but with a Dominican twist. You have the option to have it with tostones (green plantain) or maduro (sweet/yellow plantain) as your buns. And the Mofongo de Churrasco is a very filling dish with their sauce and your choice of meat, chicken, pork, shrimp, or cheese. The servers are very kind and welcoming to new and returning customers. Do keep in mind that this restaurant gets pretty loud with music blasting no matter what time it is and people having lively conversations. If the restaurant gets packed with a long wait period for the next available table, try sitting at the bar since they offer the same menu to order from. I recommend coming with a group of friends who love coming to Little Italy in the Bronx and trying some Dominican Food with some music blasting.

Upon entering you feel as though you're walking into lil DR. The menu is displayed on huge tv screens across the room. The space is huge, they also have outdoor seating available. Every one was very friendly and helpful which was a plus being a first timer. I was informed of the popular menu items along with the secret faves. The food was amazing! First we started with a Chimi Tostones Slider, chicken. It was layered! Thick slice of queso frito (fried cheese), signature Dominican pink sauce and the crispiest, juiciest fried chicken chunk!! Deliciousss! My fried ordered tostones and carnitas (fried pork chunks) the meat was tender and flavorful, the tostones were nice and crispy. First they gave me the red beans tho, which were great but I had my heart set on the guandules w. Coconut . I had the churrasco with white rice and guandules w. Coco. The coconut guandules were a wonderful surprise! Also ordered a mofongo w. Fried cheese and if you don't eat pork, ask them to not include it mashed into your mofongo but if you're ok with it, TRY IT! The pink and white sauce convo was amazing and the strong garlic was a great hit!Lastly the mojito, hands down in my top 5 best mojitos! They come a bit warm to the table but grab that straw and SPIN. Spin that straw all around to move that ice, when your cup is nice and cold then you drink and enjoy how amazing it really is!! Our waiter was mehh but all the other people that brought our foods, got us to go boxes, cleared our tables, were all amazing!

The surf and turf was good. The stew chicken in the gravy was really tasty. I liked how the the sea bass was fried perfectly it pairs perfectly with the coconut sauce. I had leftover so I am happy the waiter told me most people put it on the side. The bartender and waiter were awesome in which they were very helpful and nice to me.

Great atmosphere. The waiter was very attentive. My Churrascos was cooked medium just like I asked for it. The only thing is it was let to rest for too long so the meat was more at room temperature then I like. My girlfriend's Mofongo was great. The only thing I wanted to add was the food is quite salty every part.

An authentic Dominican place with a very creative decor. The vibrant colors and design will remind you of the shacks in the Dominican countryside. The food is even served to you in these mini calderos for the traditional look. Apparently, this place is popular on social media and I can see why. The food is not bad either! Their menu is mostly made of traditional stuff - rice and beans, stewed meat, mofongo, etc. For a change of pace, I'd recommend their tostones sliders and mofonguitos. The sliders are little chimi burgers but with tostones as the bread - very tasty and juicy. And the mofonguitos are small cups of mofongo and the perfect appetizer for sharing. They serve alcohol as well. I'd recommend the passion fruit margarita, which appears to be their most popular drink. Another recommendation I'd make is to avoid going here on the weekends, as it can be a long wait.

If you are looking for authentic Dominican food in the Bronx, then Ajo y Oregano is your spot. The food was flavorful and delicious, the ambiance brought me back to the island and the service was top notch, the servers were on top of everything. The space is tiny and can feel crowded but it's totally worth it. I left full and thoroughly satisfied!

I've wanted to try this place for a while, and it did not disappoint. We came in on a very rainy Sunday evening, and I was immediately impressed with the decor. It felt like I was in a Dominican house in el campo, down to the bright colors, wall murrals, and I love the pan that was repurposed as a bathroom sink and the plants growing in the motorcycle and pilon. The service was friendly but a bit slow, so you really felt like you're in DR, lol. Besides the cute and nostalgic decorations, I was truly impressed by the food. The chef lived up to the name of ajo y oregano, which are staples in Dominican cooking. We had the chicharron and yuca fries to start, and the chicharron was so good! I had the pepper steak with tostones. My cousin had the fried snapper made just like in Boca Chica, and it came with a Johnny cake. All of the food was seasoned perfectly and tasted just like it would taste in DR. My favorite was el jugo de guanabana. This was the best one I've tried outside of my grandparents' house. The guanabana juice alone made this place worth the drive and wait

This Dominican restaurant is authentic as it gets at least in my opinion I'm sure there's other restaurants which might be as good or better but I've definitely really enjoyed this one. To start off we got the chimi tostones sliders which was amazingly full of flavor and looked so appetizing! All the ingredients were paired so well. Whenever I come here I will always order this as my appetizer! As for the main dish I got the Churrasco Mofongo with the skirt steak on the side instead of being mixed in. By far the most flavorful and juiciest skirt steak I ever had, it was made to perfection !!!! The actual mofongo with the melted cheese was amazing as well, I would definitely recommend this dish for anyone who likes skirt steak. Our server was very nice and attentive. The inside decor is fabulous especially with the ceiling metal roof like in some houses back in the DR. Everything inside is very colorful and has cultural meaning to it. Overall this place is very nice and has warm cultural welcome to it!

I tried calling the one on Crescent Ave but got no answer after having the phone ring for a while. But I decided to go with this location because Crescent said 9 p.m., and this one said 10 p.m. The location is on a busy street. We did get Lyft, so that wasn't an issue for us. But you might have to walk a bit if there's no parking. It's spacious outside when you first enter, and there are two sides to be seated. We were seated right away and given menus. The decor is cute, and the wall artwork is colorful and lovely. Great music was playing late at night. We did arrive after 8:30, more like 8:45ish. They were out of something we wanted to order, but the server, I think, his green apron, said Juan. I'm not sure if he said his name at the time. As I said, we were hungry, which was the main focus, not to mention arriving before they closed. The appetizers were delicious. I suggest getting two if you have a big group because three pieces on a plate are insufficient for four people. The food came out promptly, everything was delicious, and we enjoyed every bite. I hope to return and get the name of what we ordered. I'll use that as an excuse to return because everything looked good on the menu. I know we got Chicharron, flan, and tres leche, but the names of the dishes Yes, I could look at the menu, which I took a picture of, but I would prefer to go back

The crispy octopus easily rivals anything I've had in Manhattan, super tender with just the right crisp. The cassava hash browns were so good I was almost annoyed by how simple they were. Paired with a rich, meaty sauce and a fresh fennel crunch, the whole dish was incredibly balanced. The wings were the most straightforward item on the menu (in the best way), lightly spiced, slightly sweet, and great for picky eaters. Someone needs to give the bartenders a raise. I ordered three drinks just to test consistency--every single one was balanced, spirit-forward, and not overly sweet. The presentation was different on each one and felt intentional without being gimmicky. I've seen some of the lower Yelp ratings and they mostly call out price, but this is very much a you get what you pay for situation. The quality of the food, the portion sizes (especially for this level of execution), and the overall intentionality behind the menu justify it in my opinion. Service was excellent. They squeezed me in last minute, and my waiter, Dionicio, handled my coconut allergy (not easy at a Dominican spot) with real care and ease. The space itself is worth mentioning - moody, mushroom/mossy interiors. Super cute, very well thought out, and definitely a place I'll be coming back to.
