Moffitt Animal Clinic - Thoughtful and much appreciated gift for the loving remembrance of my Kitty from the doctor to us a couple of days after our loss.

Wow. That's honestly all I can come up with right now. We…read morefirst took our sweet Foxy to Moffitt Animal Clinic from Reno to have her teeth cleaned. Instead, Dr. Moffitt said, "Not until we find out if she has heart disease." We were shocked--we had no idea. That moment started a journey we never expected, and we're so grateful we had Moffitt Animal Clinic by our side every step of the way. On Wednesday, we knew our journey with our precious girl was coming to an end. Through it all, not once did we call or text without being treated like family. Every single person in that clinic loved and cared for our Foxy as if she were their own. To the amazing front office staff: thank you for every text, every panicked phone call, every video, every picture, and every prompt response. And thank you, Dr. Moffitt, for always taking the time to call us back and answer our questions with kindness and compassion. To all of the veterinary technicians: thank you for loving on our sweet girl--and sometimes loving on us when we needed it most. Your kindness, patience, and genuine care meant more than you'll ever know. Because of all of you, we were blessed with more time with Foxy than we might have otherwise had. That time is a gift we will always treasure. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single person at Moffitt Animal Clinic. We felt your love, your compassion, and your dedication every step of the way. We will never forget everything you did for our family. With heartfelt gratitude, The family of our sweet Foxy

I had been taking my Shiba Inu here for the past few months as this is a convenient location and my…read morehusband and I occasionally would need her to be watched for a workday here and there. The good - the female facilitator and the other gentleman were very sweet. They gave a great tour, and were always happy to take calls or answer questions. I think this place is great for folks who work on USA Parkway, or folks who are content with quick exchanges with no feedback. The bad - Unfortunately most of my drop offs consisted of dealing with Thomas, the owner. He made it clear pretty early on that he thought me and my dog had "anxiety issues". When I picked my dog up each day I liked to ask how her day was, as I'm genuinely interested (I love my dog lol) and it's nice to make small talk. Thomas took this interaction as me thinking my dog had a problem, and would make comments about my dog having some type of issue. He constantly rubbed me the wrong way, saying it was incorrect for me to say goodbye to my dog as it would increase her anxiety, and mentioning that I shouldn't call in to check on her. The final straw was today, Thomas had made a comment to my husband yesterday that my dog was "nippy" with him, and I wanted to talk to Thomas about it directly as I was genuinely concerned about my dog showing potential signs of aggression. Upon me asking him about it, he immediately let me know I should probably find another daycare, as I'm the owner he deals with that has the most issues or concerns. I tried to amicably let him know I'm only trying to get more information on the situation, but he kept insisting I go somewhere else since I'm not happy. This was a totally unprofessional way to speak to me, and as a paying customer I think it's well within my right to ask second level questions about my dog's behavior. I will be taking his advice, and going to a different daycare that doesn't view me as a problem customer for checking in on my dog or asking about her at pickup. 2 stars because they helped us out during days we needed dog care, and I'm appreciative for that!

We boarded our 2 dogs for 5 nights. When we picked up our dogs, Mia our 3 yr old was reverse…read moresneezing really bad. We were told she does that when excited. She has never done that!! They then rushed us out as fast as they could. When we got home we knew something was wrong with Mia. She had zero energy and that reverse sneeze was horrible. The next day we called our vet and made an appointment for Mia. The vet on the phone said it's most likely Kennel Cough and we had to wait in our car until they cleared the area for Mia to come in. Kennel Cough is highly contagious. Dogs can get it even though they are vaccinated, which Mia is. After examining Mia the vet confirmed she had Kennel Cough and prescribed an antibiotic for her. She didn't start to get back to normal for six days. Finally she's back to being our Mia. Our other dog, Emma, was ok when we picked her up but started showing signs of Kennel Cough the day after pick up. We called the vet and got meds for Emma. Emma's illness was not as bad as Mia's so she recovered much quicker. The owners have a new puppy in the office area and everyone going in and out are exposed to whatever illness the puppy has. The owners even mentioned the humidifier in the office was for the puppy due to breathing issues. I'm guessing the puppy spread Kennel Cough throughout the whole facility. We tried contacting the owners but it kept going to voicemail. We left a message and have never heard from them. That's no way to run a business. I will never bring our dogs there again and will never recommend them to anyone. I'm actually surprised they have been in business for as long as they have been. If you cherish your pups find another place that actually cares.

In my prior review I noted that I hoped to update my review with greater success. Well, we've done it! Our dog who had serious separation anxiety has been weaned off her anxiety and sedation medications and can stay home alone for 8-10 hours with absolutely no problems. The text to our family read: "She's fixed!! We've done it!". Bark Busters taught us how to keep our dog engaged through daily tasks and activities and they taught us how to speak Zoey's language. She is so much happier and less anxious. We are still seeing improvements in how she handles other dogs and we are working on her car anxiety but being able to leave Zoey home alone has been a huge lifestyle improvement for us. If you're thinking about hiring Bark Busters but can't decide - just do it. It takes time and dedication but their process works and you will have a happier dog in several months.

As a large pit mix I'd rescued, these issues were super demoralizing and we were scared Bo would someday hurt someone, despite our constant vigilance. Plus his world had gotten super small because I couldn't trust taking him to the places we used to hang in public. Anyway, after the meet and greet we went with a moderate board and train program. And then it didn't start as smoothly as we all hoped. Not because of their team, Bo was just more aggressive and reactive than he'd displayed during the meet and greet. Was it disappointing - absolutely, but most important was Stand Proud were having the difficult conversation with us about what Bo needed. We all came up with a plan that set Bo up for success, and they made sure it was something we were comfortable with. Since then, it's been a journey, but the results are remarkable and they've been so invested in his success. He's got a strong grasp on place and sit until released, and even off-leash skills and recall. He's also much more comfortable regulating himself and waiting for guidance when he's unsure. We're so much more confident and proud of the goofball. Thanks Stand proud team!

Taking him for a walk was a struggle as no amount of coaxing would keep him from pulling. The biggest problem was that his fear of other dogs would have him acting defensively. This often led him to him pulling us to the ground. Taking him for a walk was an ongoing challenge to which we adapted and accepted. After 4 years of living amicably with our other older bulldog, Vinnie began to be aggressive towards him. We were on the verge of turning him over to the Humane Society and then we found Danielle, Brandon and their team. The fee for their services and the length of time Vinnie would be away caused us to be reluctant to book their services. A few phone conversations and emails led us to an evaluation appointment at their home and facility in Fernly. Brandon and Danielle spent more than hour explaining everything to us. They both exhibited the qualities we look for in any professional. They presented their background explained their program clearly and simply, and answered all our questions. We had conserns about their training tools but were reassured with Brandon's detailed explanation. They have a large air conditioned kennel with spacious cages, large fenced in yard bordering a large open space. The staff we met were friendly. They were absolutely clear that their residential training is all about building a foundation and that success is dependent on how well we do our job as dog owners. We then observed one of local classes they provide all around Reno/Sparks. The trainer at the class exhibited all of the same qualities we saw in the owners. The dogs in the class were incredibly well behaved. We then booked a 4 week board and train program. When we picked up Vinnie, his behavior had improved 1,000%. Abby, his superb trainer spent 3 hours with us explaining what they did and walking us through what we needed to be doing moving forward. Brandon came by our house about a week later and spent over an hour with us answering our questions and reinforcing the guidance from Abby. Upon taking him home, he has not exhibited any aggression towards our other dog and our walks are more controlled and pleasant. With board and train you are able to attend classes for up to a year. We are excited to attend our first class with Vinnie soon. While we do not expect everything to be perfect, everyone's life has improved, We are grateful to the Stand Proud team and highly recommend them.
