For the people who don't want to read a lengthy review, Carini's is good but hard to find due to a lack of sign. For those who don't mind reading, we will start with the look and location. It's in a tiny strip mall that is behind a Taco Bell. There is no sign for the tiny strip mall for this place. It is only on the building. When you go in, you can tell the place was recently done (within the past year or two, I would guess). It looks nice enough considering strip mall food places get a bad rep. The only odd thing I noticed about the place were the little stripes of paint that no one seemed to wipe off of some of the wall tiling. Other than that, it was nice for the space that they had. A really cool thing to look at are the pictures on the wall that someone took off their family and vacation. They're time stamped and clearly blown up, but it's someone who clearly wanted to capture what they loved. Food: The food was overall good and would order just about everything again. For the appetizer, we ordered fried zucchini. It was surprisingly good. I often would get it from places, and it would be mush. They fried it with perfect timing. The marinara sauce given with it was superb for what it was served with. We wanted to keep it simple, so we ordered a meatball hoagie and a plain pizza. The meatball hoagie was the only thing that was underwhelming. The amounts of everything given on it were fine but the meatballs were bland made the hoagie, sadly, a little tasteless other than the cheese. I always expect a flavor blast when eating meatball hoagies (probably because that's how my mom made them when I was a kid, and I make them today). By no means was it bad, but it certainly wasn't good. It was there and that was that. "What kind of moron orders a plain pizza and judges it?" ME! That's who. Your plain pizza is what you base all of your other pizzas on. The sauce to cheese ratio was to my liking. That means it had average amounts of both. It was a thinner pizza and slightly crisp (in no way burnt). The sauce for the pizza was seasoned nicely and the little bit of seasoning that goes on top of the cheese was just enough to give an edge. It was a savory pizza sauce. You know the kind of pizza where the crust is just too much, and it seems like a chore to eat? That was definitely NOT the case here. I kind of wish I ordered some marinara to go with my crust. Overall, a pretty good pizza. Because I was overall impressed, I ordered a cannoli. I REALLY like cannolis but had my fair share of bad ones. But Carini's had one of the better ones. I would suggest getting one (they're only $3.50). It's a sweet one where they put the chocolate chips in. If you're in the area and need a pizza or just some food in general, I would try here and test it yourself. To say the least we are EXTREMELY Disappointed with Carinis. We have lived in Danville for 4 years now and have been ordering our pizza from them religiously for 4 years. We ordered a Pizza and cheese sticks for delivery. It took them over 2 hours to get here , this is the 3rd time in two months this has happened with them. They did call to say their driver broke down, well they should have sent someone else. They gave us the choice to pick up we couldn't because I just had knee surgery and my husband just got home from work and in the shower. By the time our pizza got here it was cold. We paid $35 dollars plus tip. We contacted Carinis and advised them of our dissatisfaction and ask for a refund I mean we paid $35 for cold pizza. They only offered 20 percent off of our next order? Really?? They should have offered a loyal customer of 4 years a full discount!! Figure the math order at least once a week or Every other week it's way over $1,000 and they could not give us a refund. HORRIBLE SERVICE and GREEDY. Shame on you Carinis!! We've been searching for a good pizza place in the Danville PA area since we moved here in 2018. We've found the best at Carini Pizza. We got a large supreme pizza, a small stromboli and 6 garlic knots to be delivered. The delivery was prompted. Everything arrived hot, ready to eat, and smelled wonderful. The pizza was full of toppings, the crust thin and it was all perfection. We couldn't eat the stromboli or all of the garlic knots. Saving the remaining pizza, knots, and pizza for a later time. Strangest pizza pie I've ever had, half the pizza was chewy and thick, like chewing on cardboard, the other half was pretty decent. The flavors were not impressive by any means. The chewy side, wow, better have your denture glue ready(no I don't wear dentures). The other half was doable. It was nice inside, little tables for dine in which is fine. Appeared clean. LOVED their Buckhorn (Bloomsburg) location and ate there often, despite it being a drive. We just thought they closed for good, when we discovered their Danville location. Service was painfully slow, despite us being the only people there for the majority of our visit. Lots of people coming in for pick-up and complaining about orders being incorrect, and lots of calls about delivery issues while we were there. We were 99% sure the menu had been cut in half from their prior location. Our pizza was mediocre, and the subs were a lot of bun and veggies, and not much substance. When we got home, we found a copy of their old menu, and our suspicions were confirmed - there was a lot more variety prior. And quality was much better. I'm not sure if this is the same people, or if they're allowing their name to be used, but either way, it's not the same place it used to be, and sadly, there are now better options. As per usual, gave them a ring and asked for a pizza with the green sweet peppers and sausage, and a plain pie, with a side of mozz sticks. Delivery time was around 45 min, but the food was here in under 30. Pizza was hot and fresh, and literally perfection. The mozz sticks were so damn hot lol,... The cheese was still stringy and soft when i bit through that golden shell. No one else gets my mozz sticks that fresh. Carinis is where it is at if ya need a pie, a slice, a sub or just a taste of that NY/NJ excellence!! Every time i order from these guys, its top of the line. This was our first visit to this location, but we have been to the Bloomsburg location...so we thought we'd try it. I'd give it zero if that was a possibility. Upon entering, there is no signage that instructs you to seat yourself or wait to be seated. We stood there for a moment, and then decided to take a seat when we were not acknowledged by anyone. It took a few minutes before our waitress even noticed we were there, and even then we were told that she would be with us in a minute. I ordered a turkey and cheese Cosmo and my husband ordered the pizza steak and we shared a plate of Mega fries. They advertise cherry coke on their menu, but it's not true cherry Coke. They mix it with cherry syrup. Also not sure if there were free refills but we were charged for 2 drinks, but my husband got water. Our food came, and it wasn't really impressive. There wasn't any mayonnaise on my sandwich so I had to ask for some. The guy in the kitchen made eye contact, but then picked his conversation back up, rather than tell the waitress I was standing there. The lettuce was pink, which was disgusting. I hope I don't get sick. The cheese for our mega fries came out of a container they spooned out of and then microwaved. It was topped with the bacon bits you can buy at the store. The bacon was not heated. So it tasted pretty gross with the rest. Neither of us were impressed. And shame on you for charging $2 for a glass of water or maybe they didn't give free refills. Mind boggling how RUDE and inconsiderate the owner is. I called in last week and talked with the owner and I couldn't believe how sarcastic and passive-aggressive she was with me. You might as well called me stupid! You even laughed at me. Like... English is my second language. I don't know this pizzeria too well. I've been here like twice. Rarely order from here. I had questions regarding ingredients, portions, and how long it would take, since I had three hungry nephews... I know I switched around and removed and added some things while ordering. Maybe that bothered you... BUT yeah, that's customer service - however I was being friendly and nice. There is NO excuse to lose your patience with a customer. You don't need to tell your customers, "Well, OBVIOUSLY...." No. Not obviously. That's why I ask questions. Your poor reviews here and on Google shows your lack of expertise and professionalism. We went here a few weeks after they opened this past summer after hearing that their Bloom location is good (tho haven't eaten there). Fries were lousy. Pizza was undercooked and otherwise very unremarkable. Salad was iceberg lettuce with some dressing. One of us got sick, probably from raw pizza dough (we arrived super hungry). With three other local pizza joints in town, this was not a necessity for Danville and given that the options are quite a bit better, we don't see ourselves making a return visit. read more

What a disappointment. This place didn't even have pizza by the slice available. The person behind the counter, Lewis, didn't seem to know what he was doing. I ended up ordering the chicken cheese steak. It was bland and flavorless and mostly bread. The bread wasn't good. I still can't believe that they didn't have pizza by the slice available. We ordered at the counter and sat in a booth. Lewis brought our food to us wrapped up to go. I guess we weren't welcome to sit in the dining room to eat. This would have a 4 star rating if I had better experiences with their delivery service. They have pretty good food (Although I personally thought that their Bloomsburg location was much better - too bad it closed). However, the couple of times that we've ordered for delivery have been exhausting. I don't know what kind of system they have in place for taking your delivery address, but both times I've called for delivery, they say there's a problem putting it "into their system" and I have to give them my address several times. The first delivery showed up cold. I get it that the driver might have a stop or 2 before getting to me, but there's no reason for food to actually be cold on arrival. I didn't realize this before the driver left though, so when I called to let them know, the girl's solution to the problem was that they'd send a fresh order back out to me and that I should send the cold food back with the driver. WHAT?!?! She wanted me to wait an extra 45 minutes and actually send the food back?!?!. Didn't offer a refund or a future credit or any actual form of compensation for the inconvenience. She put me on the phone with the cook who said that there wasn't a manager on duty at the time and that they weren't allowed to offer refunds or credit. He said the best he could do was make a new pizza and send it out to me and to keep the old one. Fine, whatever. But I was hungry and ended up eating the cold pizza while I waited and by the time the fresh one got to me, I was full. So I ended up eating re-heated pizza for like 3 days. Gross. I try not to let 1 bad experience ruin a place for me and decided to try again. Hey, sh*t happens and chances are I just caught them on a bad day or at a bad time with the first order. Surely things will be better this time, right? Wrong. Again it was like a 10 minute ordeal just to give them my address. Maybe their "system" should just consist of a pen and paper and simply write the address down. I placed my order and the girl asked if I wanted sauce on my cheesesteak and I asked for it on the side. I paid with my CC and just as I'm about to hang up I notice a disclaimer on their menu that they charge $2.00 for sauce.....which is INSANE!! I asked the girl if I was charged for that and she said that I was. So I asked her if she could cancel the sauce and remove the charge. She said she couldn't and that a manager needed to do that. But guess what? No manager on duty....again. She said that she could tell the cook not to add sauce to my order but that a manager would have to call me back later to adjust the bill. At this point, I'm not trusting them to make that call back to me, so I kept the order as it was. They did at least send me a very large cup full of sauce, so I'd say it was definitely $2.00 worth, but I really only needed a few spoonfuls of it to go on my sandwich. Total overkill. Sauce was legit good though so I made spaghetti the next day and used the leftover sauce on that. Still though....just use smaller cups for your sauce so that you don't need to charge $2.00. This place gets a one star for its Chicken Parm sub which is tasty. The pizza is awful. Other food we tried was mediocre to poor. But the key here is the outright rudeness and lack of customer respect and service from the waitress and manager. We ordered a sampler which on the menu says comes with Mozzarella sticks, fried ravioli, fried zucchini, and French fries. They brought a plate with two ravioli, two cheese sticks, two tiny sticks of zucchini, fries, and a bunch of fried mushrooms and fried cauliflower, neither of which was on the menu. So we got very little of what the menu said and a ton of what was not on the menu...things we don't like and wouldn't have ordered. So we politely asked about it and received a ton of attitude from the waitress. She said they were just adding free stuff. Well, yeah, at the expense of removing things from the platter that we ordered and expected to get. We are very nice, just asking about it. I offered the suggestion that the menu should reflect what comes on the plate. She came back and said "I took it off the bill. Next time we'll just give you less." She also never returned, never offered us even one refill, and never picked up the bill which she threw down on the table with attitude. We couldn't believe it. I thought we were getting punked by Ashton Kutcher. There's no way this attitude could be directed towards two customers for a simple, politely asked question and suggestion. A manager came over (maybe owner not sure), who gave us the same story with slightly less overt attitude but with a definite passive aggressive tone. He later returned and was much more polite and took the bill up to the register for for us, since homegirl refused to do her job. We had to ask a nice bus boy to get us to go boxes for our sandwiches. My wife and I were so nice at first. Never even made a big deal about it, we just offered our opinion that the menu should reflect what is served. Screw them. They lost two customers for sure in a town with very few in the first place. Before I get to my review I would like to say a word about what I expect from an "Italian" restaurant so that the standards I'm weighing against are plainly transparent. The thing about these places is they're not doing anything you can't technically get at home, when it comes to their pasta. Anyone can boil water and cook pasta to al dente and basic sauces are very simple. There's a whole market of jarred sauces that are comparatively high quality (for what they are) for those who lack the confidence to use fresh ingredients. So when I go to an Italian restaurant I expect very fresh and well prepared dishes because otherwise what's the point? Now, as for my experience with Carini in Danville, I am not impressed. We had the linguini with clam sauce and a pizza. We'll start with the pasta dish. The portion size was reasonable, I can say that much. The sauce was dreadful! Either the clams were canned, which is absolutely unacceptable, or they were cooked to the point they may as well have been canned. They were rubbery and flavorless. The sauce itself was over seasoned with garlic to the point that you couldn't really taste the clams at all. There is literally no difference between what we were served and some jarred clam sauce from the supermarket. Going back to my preface, you see the problem here, don't you? You can have the exact same quality meal, more of it (though again, that's not a jab at Carini's portion size), and for half the price from your local grocery store's Italian isle. On to the Pizza! The shop in Danville bills itself as Carini Pizza, so this is the dish that I judged them on primarily. Lots of pizza joints have lack luster pasta sides and, while unfortunate and something they should take more pride in, I can't really fault a pizzaria for following norms such as this. As anyone who's read my previous reviews will know, Danville is a town famous for its lousy pizza so I was really hoping Carini would be the place that turned that trend around. We live in a region with world class local tomatoes so good you have to go to the Mediterranean to find better, and a large Italian American populace who has well preserved their cultural traditions through the years. You have to go to NYC to find better pizza than in midstate Pennsylvania, and there are a few I'd gladly put up against even the famed Lombardis! So when you have bad pizza here it is because of a lack of attention to detail. So, is Carini's pizza bad? Well...no. But it's not especially good either. The crust was wafer thin, despite not being advertised as a thin crust pizza. Unfortunately, it was chewy instead of flaky and crisp, suggesting either the use of frozen dough or an oven that is inappropriately cool for the proper magic to happen. The sauce was okay, though under seasoned and the cheese was sparse. The toppings were of relatively high quality compared to other places I've been which is nice, but meaningless when the base product is so desperately average. What really causes me concern is the price. This pizza is WAY overpriced for what you get. Carini's pricing would be appropriate for true gourmet pizza cooked in a wood or coal fired oven, with expertly made FRESH dough crusts. For this may-as-well-be-frozen offering, however? No. If the pricing had been more reflective of the actual quality of the product this review may have been more forgiving. You get what you pay for, or at least you're supposed to, and I find myself in a very forgiving attitude when I'm charged less for less, instead of more for less. read more

Placed an order for delivery. Happy to find out that they are finally open on Sunday's at their new location. Have eaten at their Bloomsburg location many times and was always pretty happy. Stuffed Sicilian wrap was always my favorite. French fries are frozen out of a bag but I've had worse, eat them there, don't get them to go or they are very soggy. Was asking the woman I spoke to a question about one of the pasta dinners. She was nice and willing to help but also told me she couldn't ask the cook at the moment because he just went to the bathroom... Not something you tell customers about the person making your food. Anyways, delivery came in about a half hour. Our order had about 5 items and it was all put in a big box for easy carry. Bottom of the boxed was very oily. Discovered right away that the sauce for my garlic bread with cheese was forgotten as was the dressing for my side salad. I have my own dressing for salad at home thank god but the sauce was a bummer. My pasta dinner was flavorful was extremely oily which was why the box was oily. This dinner should not have been so oily and after some time the cream sauce separated and became unappetizing. My fiancé's subs were good but when he unwrapped them all the cheese and some meat was stuck fast to the foil and pulled right out of the bun... Messy. read more
