Tried the wrong entrance when we walked up. The correct one is on the two way street. Coming in it's a little run down. Not terrible by no means. Could use better lighting or clean the current ones. Not terribly pleased. Been driving 7 1/2 on a long trip. Stopped in Danville PA overbite. Red Roof Inn advertised this restaurant in their lobby. Menu looked wonderful. But when we got to the restaurants at 8:15 PM they said they were closed for dinner-in orders but their advertising menu at Red Roof inn says they close at 10 PM. Take no pleasure in doing this. I'll leave some stuff out not to be more harsh. But if you serve me a BLT (asked for mayo on side), and it comes as an un-toasted, burger bun with no mayo anywhere - that's just not right. A BLT comes on *toasted* *sliced* bread. We had a very young shy male server, he spoke softly and seemed very nervous, as a server you can't be shy. The last three times the quality of the food has gone downhill. And they've been securing the fryer two or more hours before the end of closing so you cannot order many items. Recently we ordered a large focaccia pizza. they charge over $30 for this item regularly. We did nothing special or different. The price on the menu and also at the restaurant and on Facebook showed that exhorbent price. We included tax and tip and delivery fee. They tacked on an additional $10 fir the base price without justification and said that's just what it is and demanded that we pay over $40 for one pizza and we think it's because of where we work. we checked again a week later and the price was what we originally thought it was so this seems to be a clear cut case of price gouging. It also was not half as good as it used to be. Things have changed. Several groups where I work will no longer order from them. read more

Great place for some authentic grade A Italian food. I ordered the buffalo chicken and steak Stromboli. I had a similar one from a nearby shop for comparison a week before. You could taste the difference! The cheese was gooey yet in place. It wasn't dripping all over. There was ample amount of chicken and buffalo sauce. They did miss the steak. But the marinara sauce perfectly complemented the overall dish. I am definitely planning to go again. read more

I'm a bit frustrated that on several occasions my takeout order has not been correct. I try to check the order prior to leaving but that is not always possible...I can't open every item to check for accuracy. I'm either given a totally wrong item or it is not prepared the way I ask. Original Italian Pizza and Subs (OIPS) is probably the best everyday restaurant in Danville. OIPS (either pronounced oy-eeps or just called "Original," you hear it both ways) is one of a small chain of Italian restaurants, and I happen to like them all. The pizza is okay, good even. I now live in Scranton, which in general has much better pizza...but Scranton does NOT have a better stromboli, and not a better sub. I freaking love their Italian sub. Love. It. Their cheesesteak is also very good! Very! Their other meals are a lot of the standard fare (ravioli, spagetti, etc) and they are arguably well done. To me, however, I couldn't care less about that...I just get the sandwich...mmmm...cheap, too. Did I mention that? It's quite affordable, so what's stopping you? Try it. read more

Tried the O.I.P. In Danville once and won't try it again. Ordered 2 different types of cheese steaks, very unimpressed w/ the quality of meat. Have been to other O.I.P. Restaurants in the area (most are separately owned and operated) and I was most disappointed in this one. I give this 5 stars for what it is, a top notch dine in pizzeria. My only constructive criticism would be better advertising and a flashier sign. I'm one of many tourists who use Danville as a way station for all the local attractions and I would not have found this out of the way spot without Yelp. But then again, the locals probably love the place and maybe that's the way they like it. Brought my 2 hungry (but sometimes picky) teens here and they seemed skeptical at first. The place was clean and service was fantastic from our lovely and chatty server. She was delightful. My eldest ordered a few apps as a meal; the mozzarella sticks were standard , fries came out fresh and crisp and the garlic bread was on some kind of salio loaf (not Italian bread) which raised the game for corner store garlic bread. My son had his usual small white pizza. It was perfectly sized and he ate the whole thing, which is good because we didn't have a fridge back at the hotel. He said it was better than average and the crust and cheese did look very fresh and handmade. I opted for the small Cheesesteak calzone but what appeared in front of me looked super sized. The server said the chef may have gotten carried away, but who am I to complain. Combined with the side of marinara it was among the best I've eaten. All of this came out in good time and (again, )was fresh and hot. All of this plus some drink makes was under $40 so this place earns its 5stars in my book. I rarely like to return to the same place when returning to a vacation spot , because there's often so much else to try but I know my kids will ask to come back and I'd be hard pressed to disagree. read more

Although it is a pizza place, I was craving pasta. DELIVERY/SERVICE The dinner options can be ordered during lunch time, so I got the Linguini with Clam sauce. Delivery time (40 min) was decent, given that i ordered at around 1pm. Website says $15 minimum order for free delivery within a 4-mile radius, but mine was a couple dollars short and the lady over the phone said that it was fine, so I appreciated that! FOOD You could tell was freshly-made and hot. They give you large portions. The side salad was meh (iceberg lettuce with onions and carrots), as I always prefer Romaine lettuce over icerberg. Lots of salad dressings to choose from. The Ceasar dressing was good! The Linguini with Clam sauce was a bit watery for my liking, not anything special. Couldn't really taste the red wine or clams, would have preferred more flavor to it. It is definitely a lot of food though as it'll probably be enough for two servings and you're given a huge loaf of bread, so it seems their quantity trumps quality. Not bad to have such a large quantity of options for Danville, though. VERDICT Delivery/service/and quantity of options and food trumped Quality. Can't speak for their pizza, but the pasta isn't the best I've had. Prices were very affordable! The quality of their food has really taken a nose dive over the years. I used to love their stromboli, but the last few I've gotten always have the crust burned. Same goes for their wings. Granted, I'm not expecting top of the line wings from a pizza joint, but the last few times I've gotten wings, they've been excessively greasy (and I'm a guy who loves a little extra grease) and they've also been burned. I've tried something from every section of their menu...pizza, subs, pasta, boli, wings, etc, and I can't say that anything they've got really wows me. Most of it is ok, but that's about the best I can say about it any more. Sadly, there don't seem to be any really good Italian/pizza joints in Danville, so unless you're willing to make a 20-30 minute drive out of town, this might be the best you're gonna get. read more

FINALLY got back to Danville after COVID. And it was my anniversary weekend. What a great place to go for a fantastic meal and memories. THis was our third time visiting the restaurant as we live 3 hours away. Fettuccine Alfredo was better than last time. Nice and creamy. Some places have gritty sauce or lumpy because not enough attention was paid. My wife could only finish half of it! I got the child size spaghetti and meatball. The gravy was worth writing about because I didn't taste the garlic the rest of the night, The meatball? Bigger than a golf ball and one I will definitely be going back for! I made the mistake of getting soup, which was great, too, because I was unable to finish the spaghetti! Day after Christmas, traveling, everything's closed - except this place! They were super busy with 10,000 pizza orders, so our waitress tipped us off. Instead, we ordered delicious pasta entrees with great pizza bread on the side. I have been eating for since I was a little kid. My dad and I use to come here all the time and about 10 years ago this place was a solid 5 stars but not its only a 3 simply because they don't put enough love into their food. Yes the missing ingredient is love. They use to give more for less and now it's the opposite. Now I had the veggie pizza which was actually really good filled with toppings. But the subs we ordered were pathetic. We ordered chicken Parmesan subs and there was barely any chicken just a lot of bread. Luckily the bread is good but still not a quality sub. For a meal my favorite meal is the chicken Parmesan Pasta dinner. It's a good amount of pasta and chicken with a good salad with awesome house dressing which is a spicy Italian and an entire loaf of bread which is very good with the spaghetti sauce or to clean up the salad dressing. OIP could easily raise their stars if they just put a little more tender loving care into their food. read more

Classic. This the best sub shop in Danville. Part of what makes them so good is that their bread is homemade. Correction, not only is it homemade, it is delicious and unique. Usually when I use that word to describe something I am trying to politely say it is weird, not so in this case, I mean unique in the pleasantly surprising way. You taste the bread for the first time and you say, "Hey, this bread may be shaped like a deflated football, but it tastes like a slice of deliciousness. I must eat some more. We ordered the pierogi pizza which has mashed potatoes, ham, onions, and cheese. If you're familiar with "Korean style" pizzas, this is pretty similar. I have eaten at OIP's across Pennsylvania, and have never found them to be bad. This one however was excellent. This review is based solely on a delivery order, so I cannot attest to the service of the restaurant. The gentleman I spoke with was very nice, and well versed in the menu. I was blind calling so I didn't have a menu in front of me. I gave the hotel, and he knew to ask which building. He told me that after my order was out of the oven, he would call, give me a total, and would start on his way. That was exactly what he did too. He was here at the hotel (review to come) within 5 minutes. He was a nice guy who even held the outside door for me. The order: I got a medium pizza with pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms. Sliced sausage instead of crumbled!!! HUGE bonus!!! Canned mushrooms!!! Made for pizzas!!! Save the fresh shrooms for your salad!!! I also ordered cheese breadsticks. OMG. They were fantastic!!! The sauce is a nice mixture of spicy and garlicky. I am planning on ordering from them anytime I am in Danville in the future! read more

We ordered a large pizza and had it delivered. It was quick. Our pizza crust was so soggy you couldn't pick it up to eat it. The cuts were not cut thru so you couldn't pick them up. We didn't have forks because we were in a hotel and they gave us plates but no napkins. My husband got a steak sub and he said the bread was a little gross.
