    Melted plastic, yum!

The food was okay, but when we got home we realized that our sauce containers had melted because they were out on top of our hot food. The sauce was spilling everywhere when we opened it.

If you are not from the area this is a small town with a gem . The food is so good and fresh. We started with the Italian wedding soup and let me tell you it's definitely home made and delicious. Then we got the garlic bread with cheese the bread was so soft the cheese was just perfect. The last thing we had was the cheesesteak Stromboli another 10 I am definitely going back. The staff is so nice. I can't remember the name of our waitress but she is amazing so nice.

Clams covered in raw tomatoes that I'm allergic to

Yesterday evening I placed an order delivery. Food arrived very quickly so we were thrilled. The food was horrible! I ordered Sicilian clams for my meal and it was an ample ordered of clams floating in a greasy broth covered in fresh tomatoes. I was unable to taste the dish as I am very allergic to tomatoes and the description of the clams on the menu did not state that there were tomatoes, it merely said white wine sauce. I also ordered Chicken Buongusto. The chicken is described as being in a creamy Marsala sauce with mushrooms and bacon, sounds delicious right? Negative! The order is huge pieces of steamed or poached chicken breast. Breast are straight out of the package, untrimmed. The chicken is not in a creamy sauce and is definitely not in Marsala wine. The bacon is the type of bacon you purchase when sautéed bits & pieces and was tough and completely disgusting. This pile of horse slop was floating on top of pasta, also not described as part of the order. Sadly for me, gluten allergy and I would have told them to not add the pasta. So, I called the restaurant. When I was directed to the owner & asked politely asked him about the food he merely said, "Sorry to hear that" & hung up. What I told him was that I am allergic to tomatoes and could t eat my food & had to throw it away. He was completely unapologetic & made zero effort to remedy the $63.00 order and I went without dinner. I would not recommend this establishment. The food was not good at all. We ordered a few other items & although they were edible, they were TV dinner quality.

What a nice atmosphere and sweet people! The food is good. Much of it is hand crafted. Their Italian sandwich is second to no one.

I did enjoy a burger special, the Patty Melt. Gail, our server, was personable, accommodating, and delightful. We also had the opportunity to speak with the charming owner, Gina, who shared the history of Lickity Split, which began with their ice cream truck. The dessert menu included dairy-free and sugar-free ice creams. If you are shopping in Lancaster County, you must dine at the quaint old-fashioned Lickity Split. You won't regret the food or service.

The inside of the restaurant is somewhat narrow, but long. They have a variety of seating available and I was put in a comfy booth towards the front. Both the employee working at the host stand and my server were very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be working there. My server said she had been there since she was 15 years old and seemed to have good report with the regulars. I ordered a small spring house salad with the dressing on the side and the cheesesteak stuffed pretzel. The stuffed pretzel was greasy and amazing in all of the ways a good Amish pretzel is. It had the right amount of salty and sweet and the cheesesteak filling was hot and gooey. The pickle and chips on the side added a nice crunch. The salad was fresh and loaded with toppings. I wished I had room for ice cream because all of the flavors in the case next to where I was seated sounded delicious, but I was too full. I asked for a rice krispie to go and it didn't let me down. It had a nice vanilla flavor and that fresh marshmallow-y pull in each bite. Prices were more than fair for the quality. The bathroom is outside in a separate building, but was also easy to locate and clean. I will be back to try some ice cream!

While in town, we wandered in wishing we had already grabbed some baked goods earlier in the day. And with a mission to acquire some meat for the grill later in the day. Immediately we were met with a variety of whoopie pies (we got a traditional one and cookie one, both delicious), and most of all the BEST cinnamon roll we have ever feasted on. Not only was it tremendous but it was perfectly gooey, and the buttercream (or at least that's how it tasted) frosting in lieu of traditional icing blew it out of the water. We also grabbed some chicken bacon burgers which we grilled up and really enjoyed. Just wished the patties were initially bigger. We ended up putting 2 and 2 (out of the 4) together to make burgers which would actually survive the grill. In general the selection is everything you'd imagine in Amish country combined into one little place. Prices were excellent, quality was great. Definitely stop in!

Perusing Yelp, I saw Stoltzfus (a local last name that was mentioned by our buggy guide) and it was a deli/restaurant- you had me at meat! You order at a walk up counter, get a buzzer, wait as they make it fresh, get buzzed, and pick your order up. Plenty of clean seating is available. The Philly cheesesteak was awesome! Lots of meat, tender but substantial roll, and hot! I got it sauced - this was new for me. I was thinking cheese sauce, but it was a red sauce. I loved it regardless ( my daughter wasn't as happy - not because it tasted bad, but she wasn't expecting it). We didn't have to wait to order, but once we were eating-the line was easily 25-30 deep. The eating section is called Amos' Place. The meat section is Stoltzfus Meats. A wonderland of fresh, frozen, and refrigerated meats and all the accompanying side dishes! There is also a very good selection of baked goods, spices, and munchies. Oh, the white root beer was good! I will definitely be back!
