I took my Girlfriend with me so she could pick out the ring she liked. We arrived around 6:00 PM. We were buzzed in and were greeted by John Carioti. There was no one else there but the 3 of us. I had an awesome experience here! My fiancé proposed to me last night, but the ring was a little too big. I visited Carioti this morning to get my ring resized (despite not having gotten the ring from them) and they had it ready for me within TWO HOURS. I've heard people say it could take weeks to get a ring resized, so I was really appreciative that I didn't have to part from my new ring! Additionally, everyone was very nice and the price was fair. Carioti Jewelers had repaired a few pieces of jewelry for me, so when my favorite piece of jewelry, a bracelet watch, was losing time, I brought it in. They don't do watch repair on site and had to send it out. Both times it was gone for several weeks, and both times it worked for awhile before slowing again. The watch was old, so I asked them to replace the movement. The first time they cleaned it. The second time they said they changed the battery. Recently, I took it to The Watch Shop in Gahanna. Norbert changed the battery, and my watch works again. Lesson learned: If you need a watch repaired, take it to a specialist. read more

From engagement ring, to wedding bands and presents, to mother's day presents, my husband and I had great experiences with Carioti Jewelers. We referred them to others as "our jeweler". Unfortunately, this last experience was not so great. It's been a couple of years since my last visit. Didn't think that would stop them from providing quality service. While I waited for one brother to look at my damaged ring, the other brother (who we worked with over the years) must not have recognized me. Fair enough. However, before I could give him a warm greeting, he looked at me as if I was bothering him. I called to check on my ring--after three whole weeks with no phone call. Upon asking about my ring, the brother handling my repair immediately stated that I must be working with someone else on it (as if he's too good to manage a simple repair). I reassured him that I had the right guy. He let me know that (after three weeks) the ring would be ready the following business day. When I picked up the ring, I was satisfied with the work. I was discrete in my complaint about the poor quality of service. I mentioned that I would hate to stop referring others to his store. He apologized and rang up the FULL charge for the repair. This place is a hidden gem - no pun intended. I learned of this jeweler through my mom as she took a piece here to get appraised. A friend of mine has been recently looking at engagement rings with her boyfriend and they've done the whole Diamond Cellar and Argo & Lehne deal, however, what she wants at these places is out of their price range. She had also heard about this place through 2 of her boyfriend's friends who got engagement rings here. We decided to check this place out before she returns with her boyfriend. First off, the building is very non-descriptive. It's within the CSCC and CCAD campuses and the only signage on the building is a small "CJ." After walking in the the door, you must press a button to get buzzed in through another door - feels very top secret. We stopped in without an appointment, although they would prefer you made one. Chris was very kind and allowed us to stay. My friend knew what she wanted and he was able to pull a couple settings, loose diamonds, and a wedding band to give her an idea of sizes. They also will custom make pieces for you so you can kind of show them what you like based on what they have then have it custom made to your vision. Most importantly the prices here are crazy good!! I am not super experienced in diamond shopping but I know enough of the basics to know that you will not get ripped off here. In fact, you will get an incredible amount of carat weight along w/ a good quality diamond for your buck. You are not paying them for fancy advertising and cheesy commercials so they pass the savings on to you. You're also not paying for their high rent as they're located in a very low rent area part of town. The show room is nice, but nothing over the top so you're also not paying for that. I honestly have NO idea why any guy or gal would spend their hard earned money at place's like Kay Jewelers, Zales, Jared, Tiffany, or The Diamond Cellar - you're paying mostly for the insane mark up! Every gal wants a custom piece and of course it's hard to say no to a larger carat when it's well within your budget. Take in pictures of what you've come across that you like and I'm certain they'll make something comparable if not the same for a fraction of the price. If you want a quality piece with no-nonsense service that gives you honest knowledge about diamonds, this is the place to go. read more
