simply the best. bottom line: service, value, and selection are superior to every jeweler in a 100 mile radius. When you are finished wasting your time with other vendors, make your way to Alexander's Jewlers and visit Shane. I worked exclusively with Shane. He was easy to work with, and demonstrated his superior product knowledge by quickly locating a short set of engagement rings based on my fiancé's preferences. Shane was able to discribe in detail the cost and quality differences between the various products selected. In the end, he was able to help me design the perfect custom engagement ring for my fiancé. My fiancé loved the round halo set in white gold that Shane recomended! After I proposed, I took my fiancé back to Alexander's (after wasting time at several other local vendors) to select our wedding bands. Shane helped us find a perfect match for my fiancé's round halo, and a splendid cobalt band for myself. The price we paid was just under prices I found on the Internet, the difference being able to see the product ourselves in store and receive superior customer sercice from Shane. I first came across this store when researching engagement rings. I completed a comparative cost analysis of numerous jewelers in the greater Columbus area. Vendor's analyzed include retailers such as Jared, Kay, Diamonds Forever, Worthington Jewelers, and many others. The results revealed that this vendor had the highest quality product, at the lowest prices, and the best customer service. In summary, don't waste your time; just go to Alexander's Jewlers first!

Here's how you know Alexander's has good stuff: you have to ring a doorbell and be buzzed in by a security guard. Alexander's has a nice selection. They cater strongly to men, selling high-end, pre-owned watches. You really wouldn't know that most of the watches were pre-owned though. They're in very good shape. Watches are their specialty, but they also sell (new) jewelry for men and women. If you can't find something that suits your fancy, they will work with you to custom make a piece - for a price, of course. The owner, Alexander, is a Russian immigrant. He comes with all the old-world charm. Needless to say, the customer service at this jewelry store is on the money. They treat you like royalty.

    New earrings, absolutely beautiful!!!!!

I can't tell you how many times I've stopped in and gawked in awe at all the beautiful jewelry throughout the store. Shane, the manager, is a fellow Bobcat (Ohio University alum), and he has always welcomed me into the store even though I'd never made or even sniffed close to a purchase. Well, shockingly tonight was the big night that I stopped in and actually made a huge splurge....and man did it feel and look good!!!! I said yes to a beautiful pair of earrings, and I can't stop looking at them. I couldn't thank Shane enough for suggesting the pair of gorgeous earrings. He picked them out perfectly for me. It felt like they were made for me to wear them. If you are in the Short North (and especially if you are a fellow Bobcat) stop in and take in all the beautiful jewelry. Tell Shane hello!!

Shane showed me these when I was in the store

The things they sell are helpful to more than professional jewelers. My father, for example, is a botanist who studies mosses. He buys all of his hand lenses here (and then proceeds to wear them around his neck and continually get asked why he's wearing a whistle.) I like them for their beading cord and tool quality. This is the kind of place that is trying to keep itself a secret. THERE IS NO SIGN. Let me repeat that. THIS STORE DOES NOT HAVE A SIGN. They also keep their door locked a lot of the time, so you knock and look somewhat respectable and they let you in. (The store is located right next to the plasma donation place, and they apparently get some interesting characters in.) If you're an artist or a beader or a botanist/entomologist/etc. I highly suggest dropping in sometime. It will be worth your while.

I called them because it said here in a previous review that they do watch repair. It turns out they don't actually do watch repair, they only sell the parts. When I asked if they could recommend a repair person she asked who I was. When I told her my name she told me to just go to my local jeweler...which I'm pretty sure I could have figured out on my own, except I didn't want to do that. Well she refused to tell me of any local shops that work on watches. This must be the only business in Columbus that has more business than they know what to do with--as they sure don't seem very welcoming to new potential business.

YE Gurl Says: Service Matters More Than Sparkle at Worthington Jewelers…read more Place: Worthington Jewelers Context: Bridal show intro + in-store visits I really wanted to root for this one. I'm a fan of local, mom-and-pop businesses--especially for something as meaningful as wedding jewelry. Met the team at a bridal show, and while the energy felt a little off (crowds were heavy, so I gave grace), they warmed up enough to mention an extended bridal promo and encouraged me to stop in. So I did. And unfortunately... the experience never quite landed. When I came into the store, it was busy again--fair--but the interaction felt just as unclear as before. I explained exactly what I was looking for (even showed a Tiffany & Co. reference), and was immediately told customization was the only option... with no pricing guidance, no range, no transparency. That's a miss. When I did find a band in-store that worked, I moved forward--still without a clear idea of cost. After a long back-and-forth with a manufacturer, the quote came back at over $1,500 more than the comparable Tiffany piece. Pause. I also had to remind them about their own bridal promotion while actively making a purchase. That shouldn't be on the customer. To salvage the visit, I added earrings and dropped off jewelry for repair (which, to be clear, the smith work was excellent). But the buying experience? Still off. And here's where it really mattered: I later found my original ring through my Tiffany rep and called to cancel the order. Thankfully, I caught it in time--because buried in the fine print is that custom orders are non-cancelable. That's the kind of detail that should be clearly communicated upfront, not discovered later. Even the cancellation process felt like work. I was told someone would call me back... hours passed... I had to follow up myself to close the loop. Final visit to pick up my repaired jewelry? Empty store, but still somehow rushed. I tried to browse, got prompted to check out early, asked about items I'd previously seen--and was told they didn't exist. Then spotted them right next to me at checkout. At that point, I paid for the repair work and left with the same energy I walked in with: rushed, unclear, and not particularly welcomed. YE Gurl Insight: There's a difference between *nice* and *kind*. Nice feels scripted. Kind feels intentional. And in a category like jewelry--where purchases are emotional, high-investment, and personal--experience is everything. Final Take: * Craftsmanship (repairs): Strong * Retail experience: Inconsistent at best * Pricing transparency: Lacking * Overall vibe: Off I understand why more people are opting for brands like Tiffany & Co. or even online retailers like Mejuri --you get clarity, consistency, and a smoother experience without the friction. YE Gurl Says: Support local when it feels good to do so. But if the experience makes you second-guess a meaningful purchase? Trust that instinct and move accordingly.

I sat annoyed for over 30 mins before approaching her again and asked if I should just make an appt. She said no there was a mix up. I wish I would've just left then. So much happened in between then and now but on 4/25 I called asked if I could speak to a manager because after placing my replacement order they have continued to try to mark the price up despite everything being written up properly & me having both the receipts for the stone as well as the setting. I originally called 3.5 hrs before closing and the receptionist told me if the female manager felt it was important she would return my call. I called back 25 mins before they closed again asking to speak to the manager. She then informed me the manager would call me back closer to closing time. I said do you not close in 25 mins? She said yes then abruptly ended the phone call that ended with "bye". At this point I'm going to try to reach someone af the corporate office because the way they are behaving like a used car sales lot is appalling. I refuse to pay a penny more than the agreed upon price that is on all my order receipts I was given when I placed the order on 2/21. They have flat out lied twice now about why the cost is changing. Avoid at all cost, even if you've had spectacular experience there in the past. This fall will be my 14th wedding anniversary, and much to my credit (or so I choose to claim) I have not given my lovely spouse rhyme or reason to ever consider the removal of her ring. Time, unfortunately, is unyielding in its pursuit to render us as mere shadows of our former selves, and as such my wife's hand has slightly outgrown the proportions of the ring when our nuptials were newly minted. Meyers Jewelers, at no charge and with a substantial investment of their own time, assisted with the removal of the old ring before issues of circulation started to come into play for my wife's afflicted digit. However, when it came time to purchase my wedding band the experience became one of the most unprofessional customer service experiences I've ever had. After having issues with my wedding band multiple times, I was texting with the owner about fixing my third band. His response was, "What was discussed?" which felt extremely dismissive and frustrating, especially because I had just been in the shop explaining directly to him how unhappy I was with the ring. Unfortunately, due to the timeline and the fact that the third wedding band was still not correct, I had to get married wearing a ring that I did not love. When I picked up the second band, we discovered together that it was still not what I had requested. Finding out in the moment that the second band had been made incorrectly was both disappointing and avoidable. This should have been identified before I arrived to pick it up. I had to repeatedly advocate for myself to receive a product that matched what was originally discussed and expected. Unfortunately, that was never delivered, and I am now having my band corrected by another jeweler. The lack of accountability, and customer care is the reason I am leaving this review. Had there been any apology or genuine care towards getting my band correct, I would have continued working with the owner despite the issues. The most disappointing part was feeling like my concerns and previous conversations were repeatedly forgotten, leaving me to explain the situation and my frustrations again each time. Even after texting him explaining my frustration, he did not respond, and still I was left with no acknowledgement or apology. I then go in for a final time to drop off the second band, tell him that his lack of care and apology throughout this entire process had been extremely unprofessional. Even then, he said nothing.
