simply the best. bottom line: service, value, and selection are superior to every jeweler in a 100 mile radius. When you are finished wasting your time with other vendors, make your way to Alexander's Jewlers and visit Shane. I worked exclusively with Shane. He was easy to work with, and demonstrated his superior product knowledge by quickly locating a short set of engagement rings based on my fiancé's preferences. Shane was able to discribe in detail the cost and quality differences between the various products selected. In the end, he was able to help me design the perfect custom engagement ring for my fiancé. My fiancé loved the round halo set in white gold that Shane recomended! After I proposed, I took my fiancé back to Alexander's (after wasting time at several other local vendors) to select our wedding bands. Shane helped us find a perfect match for my fiancé's round halo, and a splendid cobalt band for myself. The price we paid was just under prices I found on the Internet, the difference being able to see the product ourselves in store and receive superior customer sercice from Shane. I first came across this store when researching engagement rings. I completed a comparative cost analysis of numerous jewelers in the greater Columbus area. Vendor's analyzed include retailers such as Jared, Kay, Diamonds Forever, Worthington Jewelers, and many others. The results revealed that this vendor had the highest quality product, at the lowest prices, and the best customer service. In summary, don't waste your time; just go to Alexander's Jewlers first!

Here's how you know Alexander's has good stuff: you have to ring a doorbell and be buzzed in by a security guard. Alexander's has a nice selection. They cater strongly to men, selling high-end, pre-owned watches. You really wouldn't know that most of the watches were pre-owned though. They're in very good shape. Watches are their specialty, but they also sell (new) jewelry for men and women. If you can't find something that suits your fancy, they will work with you to custom make a piece - for a price, of course. The owner, Alexander, is a Russian immigrant. He comes with all the old-world charm. Needless to say, the customer service at this jewelry store is on the money. They treat you like royalty.

New earrings, absolutely beautiful!!!!!

I can't tell you how many times I've stopped in and gawked in awe at all the beautiful jewelry throughout the store. Shane, the manager, is a fellow Bobcat (Ohio University alum), and he has always welcomed me into the store even though I'd never made or even sniffed close to a purchase. Well, shockingly tonight was the big night that I stopped in and actually made a huge splurge....and man did it feel and look good!!!! I said yes to a beautiful pair of earrings, and I can't stop looking at them. I couldn't thank Shane enough for suggesting the pair of gorgeous earrings. He picked them out perfectly for me. It felt like they were made for me to wear them. If you are in the Short North (and especially if you are a fellow Bobcat) stop in and take in all the beautiful jewelry. Tell Shane hello!!

Shane showed me these when I was in the store

I had insurance so I filed a claim & they directed me to return to Diamond Cellar to pick out a replacement ring. Immediately it was not a pleasant experience. The receptionist never placed me in que despite being the 3rd person in the door after they opened at 10am. I sat annoyed for over 30 mins before approaching her again and asked if I should just make an appt. She said no there was a mix up. I wish I would've just left then. So much happened in between then and now but on 4/25 I called asked if I could speak to a manager because after placing my replacement order they have continued to try to mark the price up despite everything being written up properly & me having both the receipts for the stone as well as the setting. I originally called 3.5 hrs before closing and the receptionist told me if the female manager felt it was important she would return my call. I called back 25 mins before they closed again asking to speak to the manager. She then informed me the manager would call me back closer to closing time. I said do you not close in 25 mins? She said yes then abruptly ended the phone call that ended with "bye". At this point I'm going to try to reach someone af the corporate office because the way they are behaving like a used car sales lot is appalling. I refuse to pay a penny more than the agreed upon price that is on all my order receipts I was given when I placed the order on 2/21. They have flat out lied twice now about why the cost is changing. Avoid at all cost, even if you've had spectacular experience there in the past. I would much rather have them refund my insurance company the money that was wired to them for the replacement and take my business elsewhere and be treated as a valued customer.

YE Gurl Says: Service Matters More Than Sparkle at Worthington Jewelers…read more Place: Worthington Jewelers Context: Bridal show intro + in-store visits I really wanted to root for this one. I'm a fan of local, mom-and-pop businesses--especially for something as meaningful as wedding jewelry. Met the team at a bridal show, and while the energy felt a little off (crowds were heavy, so I gave grace), they warmed up enough to mention an extended bridal promo and encouraged me to stop in. So I did. And unfortunately... the experience never quite landed. When I came into the store, it was busy again--fair--but the interaction felt just as unclear as before. I explained exactly what I was looking for (even showed a Tiffany & Co. reference), and was immediately told customization was the only option... with no pricing guidance, no range, no transparency. That's a miss. When I did find a band in-store that worked, I moved forward--still without a clear idea of cost. After a long back-and-forth with a manufacturer, the quote came back at over $1,500 more than the comparable Tiffany piece. Pause. I also had to remind them about their own bridal promotion while actively making a purchase. That shouldn't be on the customer. To salvage the visit, I added earrings and dropped off jewelry for repair (which, to be clear, the smith work was excellent). But the buying experience? Still off. And here's where it really mattered: I later found my original ring through my Tiffany rep and called to cancel the order. Thankfully, I caught it in time--because buried in the fine print is that custom orders are non-cancelable. That's the kind of detail that should be clearly communicated upfront, not discovered later. Even the cancellation process felt like work. I was told someone would call me back... hours passed... I had to follow up myself to close the loop. Final visit to pick up my repaired jewelry? Empty store, but still somehow rushed. I tried to browse, got prompted to check out early, asked about items I'd previously seen--and was told they didn't exist. Then spotted them right next to me at checkout. At that point, I paid for the repair work and left with the same energy I walked in with: rushed, unclear, and not particularly welcomed. YE Gurl Insight: There's a difference between *nice* and *kind*. Nice feels scripted. Kind feels intentional. And in a category like jewelry--where purchases are emotional, high-investment, and personal--experience is everything. Final Take: * Craftsmanship (repairs): Strong * Retail experience: Inconsistent at best * Pricing transparency: Lacking * Overall vibe: Off I understand why more people are opting for brands like Tiffany & Co. or even online retailers like Mejuri --you get clarity, consistency, and a smoother experience without the friction. YE Gurl Says: Support local when it feels good to do so. But if the experience makes you second-guess a meaningful purchase? Trust that instinct and move accordingly.

We made an appointment to come in and this was the last jeweler before we decided who to go with. Right away Andy (son of William) just asked some questions to get to know us and what we were looking for. He told us they make their own style of rings right there in the shop. They don't just take measurements send those off to be cast at some other location. It's done by the two men behind the counter there. They have their own style of rings which separates them from traditional ring shapes. Aside from wedding rings they do just about everything jewelry related. Rings, earrings, necklaces etc... We have a family diamond passed down and Andy was able to create the ring and set the diamond. He also appraised the diamond for us. We then found another jewel to put in place from the piece we got the diamond and set that piece. Needless to say they did a fantastic job. The prices were respectable to the true artistic and craft work performed. After picking the piece out Andy took us back and showed us the process and work benches the ring would be made on. He showed us every step and during the appraisal he let us look at the diamond under microscope to see what makes ours unique. He explained the history behind it and how diamonds are made. They truly care about what they do. After 1 month we came in to look at the diamond and we're completely amazed by it. William and Andy smiled and said this is why they do what they do for these moments. They are truly masters of their craft and I would recommend to anyone! We will be returning for our wedding bands too.

I don't know how purchasing jewelry from this store is. My review is just about getting rings…read moresized/repaired. I stopped in based on the reviews. I have a ring that had a 3.0+mm wide and 2.3mm depth band. It needed to be sized down almost a full size. I took it in and was guaranteed they could do it no issue... They told me the band would get thicker because they would be bringing the thicker sides in. I left it with them for a week, as I don't live in Columbus . I was so happy to get it back and didn't really notice until about half an hour later: my ring hurt to wear. I took it off and looked at it and I was devastated. You could feel where they cut the shank, it was wavy, the was no uniformity to the edges, and it was oblong. I called and they apologized profusely. Asked me to take it to the store in Cleveland and they would let that store know we were coming. They did not. The store in Cleveland had no idea I was coming. Turns out, I paid the store in Columbus for the honor of someone ruining my ring. It lost nearly half a mm in depth and thickness. The store in Cleveland did the best they could. They would have had to order shanks and tried to color match the rose gold but it could have ended worse than before. Turns out the Columbus store didn't even resize it correctly and left it a quarter of a size too big. So unless you want your jewelry ruined, take it anywhere else. We were going to purchase an engagement ring from this company, but I'll take my business to alibaba before here. The store manager did refund my 125 resizing fee, or the fee I paid them to take gold out of my ring and leave me with something I couldn't wear. He told me it was weird that it ended up thinner than before because "taking a ring in shouldnt do that". My ring was 2.5mm wide and 1.9mm depth before the Cleveland. Actually fixed it. My question is this: where is the material they took out of my ring and why was I not compensated for that when they trashed my ring? My ring will never be the same. Go anywhere else.

After being professionally sized in-store, I ordered my ring based on their recommendation, but it didn't fit. When I returned to the store, both a manager and an employee confirmed I could exchange it for a larger size rather than resize it, per their policy. They took my ring to process the exchange. Days later, I was told they could only resize it, contradicting what I was promised. They claimed they'd escalate my case for review and follow up, but no one did. I had to call myself to find out my request was denied due to their vague "sustainability pledge." After nearly two weeks of delays, I requested a refund. Again, no one followed up. When I called back, I was told my refund needed further review because it was "past the refund window," even though they've had my ring since January 14th. They also suddenly required the return of promotional items, despite previously assuring me this wouldn't be necessary. Now, I must wait another 24-48 hours for a decision and, if approved, another 5-9 days for processing. Brilliant Earth has failed to honor their policies, misled me, and repeatedly delayed resolution. Their customer service is unreliable, and once they have your money, their policies seem to work in their favor--not yours. Buyer beware.
