First and foremost, the young lady at the front desk (who was not Peggy) was kind, smiling, welcoming, and friendly with both her words and demeanor. She asked us to wait one moment while she checked out another customer, which was quick and easy, and immediately checked us in. We discussed the reason for our visit, and she happily took our pet to the back for her immunization. She returned a few minutes later with my pet and led us to an exam room so that Dr. Henderson could speak with us. There was no lengthy wait this time; Dr. Henderson was in the room within two minutes. She went over my pet's health, reason for our pet's visit, and asked if we had any other questions regarding our pet's health or the visit in general, of which I didn't have any. Dr. Henderson then apologized for the events of our last visit. She reassured me that the new office manager had been informed of the events, and instituted changes that should prevent any further issues in the future. To be fair, it appeared to me that these changes were effective considering the night-day difference between our last visit only two weeks ago and now. Dr. Henderson offered me an opportunity to speak with the manager myself, to which I declined, and commented that our visit today was a completely different experience from our previous visit. I thanked her for the opportunity, and that was the end of our interaction. Checkout was super quick and easy, and the bill was much MUCH better this time, and on par with previous billing for the same type of visit. I hope that this experience is the new standard at Paradise: A friendly, professional, and welcoming front desk; adherence to appointment times with little or no waiting (things do happen, it's understandable. But minimize the impact on other appointments); a quick, no-nonsense appointment with an awesome, knowledgeable, friendly and personable veterinarian; comparable and competitive pricing for services. Time will tell, but I am encouraged.

Think of the animals instead of yourselves. Rescue is unforgiving and hard and these are petty reasons to leave a bad review for an animal rescue. That said, this is a no kill shelter! I went to the Augusta Humane Society on Monday to adopt two older cats. When we came there we saw several cats outside and inside running around and just being cats/kittens. My heart was ready to adopt. Now it smelled like animals/stinky and I could tell that they had a very small budget, so please donate to this place. As we talked to the very friendly lady we realized that we were not "eligible" to adopt the older cats. The primary reason was our intentions were to declaw them in the front. The lady told me to "do the research" on declawing kittens/cats. She told me several times that not only did the Vet at the Humane Society not approve in declawing but one other local vet did not either. We were also told that other states like Maryland had laws that it was illegal. She also said it was illegal in many places overseas. So I did the research. The reason this against declawing even came up was from the Big Cats. Meaning, declawing exotic or native wild cat species. I did my research and found out Georgia HAS NO LAWS about this and this woman and her vet did not want to let anyone adopt these poor animals if they thought you would declaw. I have had cats who lived INSIDE the house for 21 years and they were declawed. Yes, I am saddened that this place have placed their own "opinions" over the needs of the animals. Too many animals need a loving home and sadly again, depending on the vets opinion, not Georgia legal laws, many will not ever find a home. Sad, sad, sad.

I was on time for our appointment but waited while other pets, big dogs mainly, went ahead of us. It was not hard to figure out that the staff was making it Safe for our delicate parrots to have their undivided attention. The cost for the wellness check, beak, nail and wing trim was so low that I was sure that they had made a mistake. MAH uses care credit which makes paying more comfortable. The parking lot is more than adequate. The only downside is exiting the parking lot, especially In the afternoon. It can get a little hectic. My family is very grateful for an avian Vet close by. Especially one like Dr Robillard and her staff.

Thankfully we have been make the trip out to Dr. Gradous for almost 9 years now so that wasn't an issue. I do use the word "trip" because it is just that. Depending on where you are coming from, it can be anywhere from a 30 to 60 minute drive. But it is worth it. The building and parking lot are small, as is Dr. Gradous. But don't let that fool you. He is straight forward in his instructions (i.e. "no Ole Roy") and has been known to treat animals much better than humans on a regular basis. And that's why we don't go anywhere else. He will speak softly to them and treat them with the utmost care when they enter his presence. This reputation has preceded so much that getting an appointment can be a challenge, so plan ahead. He does this because for the animals, as he has attempted to retire twice already but obviously is still there. His costs for medicine, shots, and appointments are the lowest you will find. Also, right next door his daughter runs the grooming and boarding. The entire team is top notch. I honestly have no idea what we will do when he stays retired.

He was wild when we got him from the previous owners. He refused to deal with me and my wife. He loved my two Grandsons (who live with us) and stayed in the room with them. We had to go out of town, and we boarded Gizmo with them. That's when I found out that Rebecca ran a training program. It was a 30-day session. While we missed him greatly, we kept in touch thru texts and pics. On September 20, Rebecca brought Gizmo home to us. I would have never believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes. He had settled down. He came to us. She went over the different commands he understood, and we practiced. Soon she left to go home. He went outside with me on a leash. No pulling. No wildness. A completely different dog! Two weeks in and he comes when called. He jumps up on the chair with us. He keeps me company as I work daily. He loves belly and back scratches. This week, I decided to try going outside with him with no leash! FANTASTIC! Does his business then wants to play! This is the dog I wanted when we chose Gizmo. Hammond Hills Animal Hospital saved our dog's life and her leg…read more Four weeks ago today, our Labrador, Luna, suffered a devastating injury while fetching a ball. She deeply cut her front leg on a glass landscape light and the injury was severe with profuse bleeding. Because she was bleeding so heavily, we did not have time to make the 45-minute drive to our regular veterinarian or call ahead to find one nearby. Instead, we rushed her to Hammond Hills Animal Hospital, just a couple of minutes from our home. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we could have made. While my wife held pressure, I ran inside to ask for help. They immediately sent Morgan to meet us in the parking lot. She applied pressure bandages to help control the bleeding and helped us get Luna safely inside. The staff dropped what they were doing and rushed her into surgery. After a long and complex operation performed by Dr. Rutt and the surgical team, we learned that Luna had severed two arteries, numerous veins, muscles, and a tendon on the back of her front leg beneath her carpal pad. It was a serious injury, and we knew her recovery would be a long one. Over the past four weeks, the team at Hammond Hills has been with us every step of the way. Every injury--and every dog--is different, but they continually adjusted Luna's treatment plan as she healed. They patiently taught us how to change her bandages at home, offered new ideas when challenges arose, guided us through home sedation, infections, complications, and were always available to answer questions and make changes when needed. Their expertise, compassion, and encouragement gave Luna the best possible chance to recover. Today, four weeks later, Luna is making wonderful progress, and we couldn't be more grateful. We feel like we didn't just find an outstanding veterinary hospital--we found a team of people who genuinely care about their patients and the families who love them. We now have complete confidence in Hammond Hills and they now care for all of our pets. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Rutt, Morgan, Jennifer, Brooke, Christine, Kent, and especially Karen. Your expertise, kindness, flexibility, patience, and dedication have meant more to us than words can express. Thank you for helping save Luna and for being there for us throughout her recovery.
