We brought our dog here after coming here for years for our cats. We were told the dog had all these health issues and needed immediate treatment with extensive diagnostics. I became skeptical of the urgency and pressure they put on me so I took our dog to another vet clinic for a second opinion. They found absolutely nothing wrong with the dog except for slight dental tarter build up after two different vets double checked our dog. I do not recommend this place at all and truly do not appreciate their pressure tactics to spend all your $$$ here. read more

I took my new puppy there for her checks ups and after she turned a year old I took her to be spayed. They did all the bloodwork and spayed her. I took her in every year for her check up and was told she was healthy. The first week of May I took her to Hitchcock Animal hospital for a routine check up because it usually takes several weeks to get an appointment at Veterinary Services. The Vet did bloodwork because she said my Puppy 4 years old needed a dental cleaning. She came back in the room and said Bunny had nearly no kidney function. The Vet got her records from Veterinary Services to review and the bloodwork they did in 2021 showed higher than normal levels. I was never told about it. Every year when I took her in for her check ups they never said anything about it only that she was in good health. I had to have her put to sleep on May 26 2024 She was only 4 years old. They neglected her, had I known she was sick something could have been done because she was so young. read more

Terrible place to go to I am given one star because I can't give 0 stars. They're terrible to me and my baby boy dog. He passed away September 19th after they dropped the ball and failed to tell me. They discovered heart murmur and he could have gone on medicato. Slow the process they didn't tell me they're so cool. Doctor Holly fail to tell me those people have no empathy. My senior cat Gary had a mild infection starting to form on his back right paw due to an overgrown claw pushing into his foot pad. Dr. Meehan as always was super professional & upfront with us about what the process would be to fix my cat's paw. He was super helpful, and so was the nice nurse who helped hold Gary down while they fixed his foot up. They didn't hurt him or make him uncomfortable beyond the usual for a vet visit, and my boy was so good! He got good petting's from the doctor & even a little treat! The doc walked me through what I need to do to keep Gary's foot healing, and he gave me a medicinal powder that helps with preventing infection. The price was a little up there, but that's also because our outside boy was behind on his rabies shot. A lot of people think this particular vet slaps you with additional fees/charges that they *assumed* wouldn't be there, but when it comes down to it, they're only doing their job. You're paying for the care/services being done, as well as materials like numbing creams or the medicines that keep your pet healthy! So in my mind, they're not bad at all. You're paying for what is necessary to keep your pet healthy as can be. I personally think it's an amazing veterinary clinic, and they've always been good to me & my pets. :) read more

We recently moved to the area and needed a new vet. Not too long after arriving our cat got some sort of rash. We brought her here and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The doctor figured out the problem quickly and was also very friendly. Best of all, the cost for the service was much cheaper than our old veterinarian, and even with two follow ups we were not charged extra. I think we have found our new vet. I used a vet over 2 hours away and when my doc became ill I took him there first. But on arrival he perked up and the doctor couldn't see what I saw... so when he declined rapidly the following day, I called this location to check on euthanasia services. I scheduled them for 5 that day... but after speaking to his vet, she sounded like she thought it was to soon. I changed it to a second opinion appointment and began to take video. Went went that day and met a wonderful vet... and he did not perk up this time. I showed her the videos and she said "it looks neurological and there would be nothing we can do"... she then suggested I spend a few last days with him and return on Saturday morning. That is what we did... My only reason for 4 stars is because I should have come on a day when she would do it and not a vet I hadn't met. Also, it would have made me feel better if the vet stopped calling him a her.. making me feel like I was letting a complete stranger take care of his final moments. I stayed with him... I would never leave him in that time. They did a great service and offer cremation and a paw print. I'm glad to have had those options... they are all I have left. The staff are very empathetic and I would recommend them to anyone for care. read more

I would really like to give this facility five stars, The vets and the technicians are experienced and polite! However the administrative group upfront has a lot of work to do. I understand working at a veterinarian office can be chaotic at times but there's no reason to be rude to the customers especially when they're there because their animals are in need, there's no need to be rude to people on the phone and there's no need for them to be rude to one another: arguing about who supposed to do what and who left who on hold. I did not feel welcomed and I also heard a "Lisa " making a joke about" dogs dying" and how she " didn't care because they didn't have room anyway ". 100% unacceptable and I'll be sure to tell everyone I know . I would love to recommend the facility because the vets and the technicians work so hard & are great at what they do except you're only as good as your weakest link. Lisa was very rude , passive aggressive , overworked & insensitive. & she works upfront , so what greeting !! read more

Not an actual hospital. If your pet is sick and needs assistance over the weekend, they will ask you to drive somewhere else with the pet. This is not a hospital. They advertised as such. Also, you will consistently get charges for services you did not order and higher amounts than you thought you would pay. read more

I have been taking my 2 cats here for about six years. They have both had oral surgery here with great results. The doctors and staff are amazing people. They love animals and love their jobs. I went today for our annual check-up and was surprised to find a nice new cat waiting area separated from the dogs. (I love dogs, but my cats don't!) I didn't get to enjoy it as they sent me right to the exam room and we were attended to quickly. I don't know how they keep the place so immaculately clean with so many animals in and out all day. Most highly recommended! Update: one of my cats is now suffering from chronic kidney failure. The doctors and staff saved her life! She suddenly got very sick and had to stay in the hospital for five days. During her stay, the doctors called to update me at least once a day. This was in Feb. 2018 and now in July 2018 my cat is celebrating her 10th birthday, on prescription food and sub-cu fluid treatment at home but living a happy, comfortable life due to the care of everyone at AVS. Took 2.5 weeks to get the apt for 2 dogs. One has to be sedated so I was toldto be there for 8 am. I showed up on time and texted per their instructions with my name and car. I Waited for 20 mins I saw a couple technicians walk out and visit other cars that had gotten there after me. I called them at 820 am explained that my dog needed to be sedated and the other dog was getting a heartworm test. They told me he needed to be seen by a vet not a Technician for that? Even though I had called and spent 1hr on the phone with them setting the appt and making sure they would get their shots and heartworm test so they should have known to Schedule the apt so the vet could see him. They said someone would be right out. I waited another 25 mins and no one showed up. Another car left without being seen. I understand we have different protocols now for office visits but this should have in no way messed up a schedule like this. They booked the appt knowing who was on staff. This is strictly down to poor management and lack of communication. This was my 2nd attempt to give them another chance. The first visit they missed a gaping wound on my dogs leg that needed to be closed. They sent her home with a 2.5in open wound. So if they can get minus stars I would give them that. Terrible service and clueless people taking calls. read more

This practice has been nothing but good to us and our pets since we moved to Aiken. They met us at the clinic the Sunday after Thanksgiving when we had to euthanize our beloved 15 year old Bearded Collie. They have treated our 15 year old cat with multiple chronic issues. And they have seen another cat for an annual physical. They order our dog's special diet food and call us when it is ready to be picked up. The service for my pet was good, but the overall experience was terrible! I went in for follow up shots for dog and was recommended to get my dog spayed. I prepaid the costs of the surgery upfront since I was going to be working out of town and my girlfriend would be the one returning my dog the next week for the procedure. I had also asked that the vet check my dog's skin because it seemed that she had been breaking out. When I got home I realized that I was overcharge by $50. It was brought to their attention and it was refunded to me. My girlfriend dropped off my dog the day of the appointment and she was told that pick up would be a quick process which was great because she gets her lunch break in 30 minute increments. She got to the clinic to pick up my dog 10 minutes early and it still took around 30 minutes which led her to be late returning to work. On top of that she was presented with a bill for over $100 for skin treatment and medication for my dogs skin! We were only looking for a diagnosis NOT TREATMENT! It would have been nice to have been given a courtesy call to inform us of any undisclosed charges instead of deciding for us. I will be looking for another vet clinic after this horrible and costly experience. read more

My cat got THE WRONG SURGERY here! I would recommend never going here. Doc Holly never apologized to me for this and thinks just because I got my money back the situation was rectified. Yes, we got our money back but my cat had surgery again somewhere else and from the stress ended up with a staff infection. So, something that should a simple two week process ended up being a two month nightmare. The opportunity arose today when a stray cat crossed my path that needed help. So I called them to ask for help with this and hopefully rectify the situation with my cat. However, Doc Holly REFUSED to discount more than just the 10% for this stray cat saying our situation has been rectified. And Doc Holly is supposed to be an advocate for stray animals.....not so much! HOW HAS OUR SITUATION BEEN RECTIFIED? read more

100% CROOKS!!! I was overcharged because I told the vet I lived in a 6600 sq ft house on a lake. I guess she thought she would overcharge me because I can afford it. I took the receipt in and got a $43 put back on my credit card. If you don't care about your money then, I would recommend you to go there so they can relief you of your cash. read more

Holly Woltz has been our family vet for at least 20 years. She is a consummate professional and meticulous if her choice of partners and staff. I never worry which vet I will see when I take in a pet. Her facility has been AAHA certified for 32 years. It is always clean and well stocked. Staff is professional, well groomed, courteous and knowledgeable. I have had just about every service available provided including a very professional and compassionate experience when I had to euthanize a pet. The staff are knowledgeable and caring, I have a young cat with knee and hip issues and they have helped tremendously with that, doing her spay surgery very well with hardly any recovery time as well as all her routine care. I think their prices are reasonable considering any animal could eventually have an expensive vet emergency and they did their best to offer me money saving options! read more

Took my cat in twice for difficulty breathing, weight loss, other serious symptoms. Saw the Sat vet, she diagnosed him with asthma. Prescribed steroids. He saw no improvement so I took him back a second time for second opinion from a different doctor. He concurred with the first vet just by looking at the X-ray. Just a few days ago I come home from work and find my sweet boy dead. This time a different vet told me he most likely died from a blood clot due to cardiomyopathy. All the classic symptoms......NOT asthma. If you don't mind annual shots, these vets are passable. However for anything serious, go to someone who knows what they are doing. Sounds like they need to go back to school. Can't bring my sweet boy back, but knowing they will never touch another one of my animals is a comfort to me. read more

I had a 5 1/2 y/o Dachshund whom I made sure she had what she needed with all her health needs. She became sick and I was told she would have to have surgery. I am retired/disabled and on social security with a limited monthly income. My experience, with them, was that if payment couldn't be paid at time of service, in full, then they weren't going to help. No payment plan offered to help save my little sweetheart and companion. She died in my arms from renal problems that I feel could of been avoided if they had worked with me. My overall assessment is that if you can't pay, in full, at time of service they seem to not care if your pet is saved or not. It seems to only be about the money and not the health of your pet. I pay my bills and would of paid them, in full eventually, in monthly payments. read more

Being new to the area, I was a bit apprehensive about finding a really good knowledgeable vet in such a small town. I never expected to find an entire clinic of truly A-1, first rate veterinarians. My 18 year old cat and I felt truly fortunate. The staff and doctors are all extremely caring. I especially liked being given so many treatment options, when there was an ailment, and having each thoroughly explained to me. I took my cat there today for a foot injury. I found my vet to be caring and kind as usual. I asked the front desk if I could update my check for a week since it was $170.00 for a exam and ex-ray. In the past my vet offered to let me pay next time for my visit but we paid anyway since we still had some reserve left after my husband was laid off. We always pay our bills so when I asked to update the check I didn't think it would be a big deal. Apparently I was wrong. The front clerk went to the office manager and I could tell from a distance that they were talking negative about me. They said I had to pay it and while I called to ask my husband for the credit card he was using to survive on out of state at his new job the office manager was giving me nasty looks. I would still be at my old vet of 15 years if I hadn't moved out of state. Oh and I always paid them too. Unfortunately there seems to be a power struggle going on between the office manager and the vet because they wouldn't even let me talk to my vet. I had another issue about a prescription not long ago where the front desk was rude. I view my vet as a important person in my life since I value my pets as if they are family. I cannot stay at a place where I am treated with such disrespect over a pymt arrangement. My name is Maxx, I am a Chihuahua. I'm writing this review for all the dogs and cats out there.  I want to tell you about my wonderful doctor, Dr. Holly Woltz.  I met  her  two years ago when my "human" found me wandering the streets and took me to Veterinary Services of Aiken.   I was really scared, I didn't trust anyone.  My doctor took such good care of me I gave her a kiss.  Then my "human" took me again, to have my male parts snipped.  I not sure about the snipping, but I got lots of attention from my doctor's human helpers.  They let me sit in their laps.  I gave them a kiss too. When my "human" goes out of town, she lets me stay with my doctor.  I have a nice warm room, so I don't have to sleep with my blanket.  They even take me for walks.  I like going to see my doctor.  I know I'm suppose to be good dog; but when I see my doctor's building I can't help myself, I just have to run inside to see everyone.  Fellow dogs, tell your "human"  to take you to see Dr. Holly Woltz, at Veterinary Services of Aiken.   You'll be happy you did. read more
