Carlos is the best! I originally hired a different company to install brand new hardwood floors throughout my house. I thought I'd picked wisely but had a miserable experience from start to finish with the other company. Just lots of miscommunication and lack of attention to detail. Near the end of the project, the stain was uneven in a spot and they tried to fix it but kept making it worse and worse. Fed up, I went looking for someone else to fix the issue, which is when I found Carlos. He assured me that he could do a color match on the area where the first contractor had been making mistake after mistake. He also noted that the sanding job throughout was not very good and provided me a reasonable quote to do a buff and coat throughout the house. He wasn't pushy about it at all and would have just done the color match, but I was happy to have him do another coat of finish throughout to clean up what the first guys did. Carlos also noticed that the floor vents the first contractor gave me were an outdated style. I said I'd wanted the "flush" style vent covers but my old contractor said it was not possible. Carlos was able to give me new, flush-style vent covers for all of the rooms in my house. Carlos also noticed that there were some squeaks in the floor. I didn't even know this was a thing you could fix! He and his team were able to put very well-hidden screws into the floor to prevent squeaking. Incredible! Finally, there were some spots in the floor where the first guys did putty to fill in holes and the putty color stuck out like a sore thumb. Carlos did an incredible color match and I literally couldn't find these spots without getting on my hands and knees. While I wish I'd found Carlos a couple of months sooner, I am so glad that I know him now. He really saved me and I will 100% be hiring him for all future wood flooring projects! read more

I can not speak highly enough about Carlos! He installed hardwood flooring in our house and paid attention to every detail. He sanded the entire under floor to make sure it was level. He used the correct nail gun to install the floor (I had heard some installers only use one type which does not match every type of flooring}. He laid out the boards in advance to make sure the light and dark woods variations were mixed up and not bunched in one area. He explained what he was doing and welcomed questions. His price is reasonable and given that other people could do the job incorrectly, his price is great! If you are looking for flooring installers, or refinishing, don't waste time call Carlos! Carlos put in hardwood floors in a sunroom addition and did a beautiful job. We ran into a lot of problems with the first contractor we hired, who was referred to us by the hardwood floor supplier and insisted that our newly poured concrete floor was not level (it was) and that a threshold would be required to adjoin the floors of the sunroom addition to the rest of the house. Carlos patiently figured out a solution, corrected alterations to the concrete made by the first contractor, and installed a beautiful, seamless, continuous floor. Not only was Carlos very professional and nice, he was cheaper by a couple of thousand dollars than the first contractor, who had also raised their estimate after they began the work. We couldn't be more satisfied with the floor repairs Carlos' crew did at our Berkeley house. We had two floor furnaces removed from our dining room and hallway leaving gaping holes in the oak floors. These guys are great. Had a unique job that involved patching up an existing hardwood floor. I last minute needed someone to install engineer hardwood floors in three rooms after my contractors' team took one look at the flooring and decided they weren't equipped to install it. Carlos came recommended to me by another flooring person who wasn't able to do it either. My partner and I knew right away we liked Carlos when he came to look at the project and give us a quote. He took his time looking at the space and noting details. His quote was comparable to other quotes we received. And we were also able to schedule a time for the project quickly. While Carlos had one of his team members do the installation, he did come by and check in on the work being done. And the person who did the install was fantastic, he was quick, organized and every day he left the flooring and his equipment neatly stacked to the side. There was a hump in the floor (an issue with the foundation) that was lessened and is now unnoticeable. There was a squeak in the floor that was removed. And they were able to reuse the trims that existed by sanding them down and refinishing them. We currently have our hands full with house projects but will definitely want to work with Carlos again by addressing squeaks in other parts of the house and giving new life to the old floors that we didn't tear out. read more

We had an old, beat-up floor, with deep scratches, rot, and water damage in every room. There were previous botched attempts at repair and a giant hole that had been cut into the middle of the living room. It was a mess! But it was the original floor, and it was made from nice long strips of red oak. Carlos and his crew came in and repaired all of the damage using new strips of red oak that perfectly matched the 70-year-old originals. They also did a beautiful job of restoring the undamaged areas, which allowed us to preserve the vast majority of the wood and retain the style of the original floors. I am amazed at how good they look now. They look brand new, and I can't even tell where the old wood ends and the new wood starts. I am also pleasantly surprised at how quiet they are to walk on. The cost of his work was reasonable, the wait time was minimal, and it only took them about a week to finish the job, once they got started.
