We are so happy with our floors! They installed new flooring in our living room, dining room and halls. We had existing old hardwoods in the bedrooms, they sanded and stained everything and it matches perfectly. We can't tell the difference between the old and new ones. They were so easy to work with and nice, communicative, and flexible the whole time. They were reasonably priced and efficient getting everything done. Miguel is very knowledgeable. We had squeaky hardwood floor and his team did a great job to fix the issue. His team was one of the most respectful i have seen during our house project. They had their masks on properly, wore booties ( we provide them to all contractors , not sure if they had their own) and cleaned up after themselves. Every step of the way they asked us to check if we were satisfied with their work, making sure all squeakiness was gone. Truly impressed. Miguel did a fabulous job fixing up hardwood floors that had been covered by carpet by previous owners and rather poorly treated. He filled holes and buffed the existing hardwood to try and get the finish closer to the newly done floors. He was quick to reply and was always responsive. read more

The Golden Hardwood Floors is an A+ company. Miguel and his team refinished our hardwood floors. They did an AWESOME job! We needed our floors done within a week. I requested quotes from yelp and received several responses. The prices quoted by some vendors were outrageous. I wanted the floors refinished not replaced. Miguel contacted me and indicated he would like to see the floors before quoting a price. He came out during the COVID-19 pandemic and maintained proper COVID-19 protocol while providing a very reasonable price quote. Two of his team members completed the work the following week. Our floors had not been refinished in over 20 years. The floors were damaged from furinture and use over 20 years. After Miguel's team completed the floors they were absolutely beautiful. It feels like we have moved into a brand-new house. We have gotten so many compliments on our floors. We will definitely use them again and highly recommend them to anyone who wants their floors refinished. Hmmmm... I like these guys. I think they are good at what they do. I think they are very knowledgeable about finishing floors. I think they will do a great job on your floor. I think you should research the products that will be used. Ensure that these products are written into your contract. Watch carefully before and during the work to ensure they use the products in your contract. I exchanged a lot of messages and talked with Miguel, who I think is the main proprietor. Miguel inspected the site and gave me very helpful advice about my floor install project and went above and beyond via recommending and finding materials and getting a quote. In about 95% - 100% of my messages and talks with Miguel, I communicated that the job included 3 coats of oil-based clear DuraSeal polyurethane. Miguel sent 2 other guys to do the work. I think one of the guys is his brother. These guys did a great job sanding the floor. While they applied the first coat, I found that they were using Bona SEALER instead of the DuraSeal clear POLYURETHANE that I asked for at least 10 times via email, text, in the contract, and verbally. I told the guys that they were not using the product that was supposed to be used. The guys doing the work didn't speak English very well. The conversation was kind of tense. They managed to communicate that the top coat would be the product I wanted. They seemed like they didn't know that they were supposed to use DuraSeal poly. I wasn't satisfied with that. I called and texted Miguel that the guys were not using the finish product I asked for. Miguel called the guys and called me back. Miguel told me that the top coat would be DuraSeal. Miguel said and indicated that he was surprised that they were not using DuraSeal. I'm not sure whether he was really surprised. Miguel and his guys tried to persuade me that it didn't really matter that the first 2 coats would be Bona sealer. I didn't agree. I told them that we were matching a connected floor that had 3 coats of DuraSeal poly. I wanted the two floors to match as well as possible, and I liked the look of the existing floor. The two floors ended up not really matching; the line is under a bedroom door, and it matches pretty close, so it is kind of OK. I didn't expect it to match perfectly. I think the two coats of sealer and one coat of poly does not produce the same look and is not as durable as three coats of poly. I think 3 coats of poly would have matched better. These guys did work that is inferior to the job we agreed to do, and not the same as the job we agreed to do. The 2 coats of sealer saves them time and money because it dries faster. They tried to make it seem like it didn't matter. I have read a lot and talked with other flooring experts, and I think it matters. I think these guys should have done the second and third coats with poly, and should have applied a fourth poly coat to make up for the fact that they didn't use the materials we agreed to use. I think they were trying to pull a fast one. They kind of played dumb like they didn't understand or they didn't really agree to 3 coats of poly or that it would be the same. I have lots of messages and a contract that says 3 coats of DuraSeal poly. I have a new project now; the bedroom I moved out of. I requested an estimate from Miguel / Golden via text and via Yelp. No response. I got responses from other businesses. I ended up accepting an estimate from Ron Young, Young and Sons, in Burlingame. I talked with Ron about what happened with Miguel / Golden. Ron assured me that he believes in 3 coats of poly instead of 2 coats of sealer and one coat of poly. Ron was very articulate on the phone about why he uses the products and techniques he uses. He conveyed genuine honesty and knowledge. Ron Young was referred to me by a different company that does not do oil based polyurethane. I needed work done on a small room (150 sq. ft total) within a week. I needed to have the carpet removed, and also the wooden panels primed and painted one color. Miguel and his company were the only ones that were able to do the job within the timeframe. Miguel was very easy to communicate with, and his team showed up promptly early on the working days and completed the job flawlessly and on time. We cannot speak highly enough of Miguel Pedroza and his crew based on our job in April 2021. We had a room of about 325 square feet that was connected to rest of the house. The room had an unfinished concrete floor. The rest of the house had hardwood that was stained with a custom stain about 13 years ago. Miguel took the time to carefully match the stain for the new floors to the stain on the rest of the house. His experience and judgment and his exacting eye made a huge different in getting this done right.
