The bun was stale, the cheese looked like it was microwaved to warm it up ie the cheese on the paper wasn't melted it was burnt to the paper wished I'd taken pictures, on top of that it was 8:30 at night no one in line no one parked outside and it took almost 10 minutes to get my 2 hot items and a drink......horrible service horrible food I threw the burger away and the dogs ate the stale French fries. If I can get this Restaurant 0 zero stars, I would Today July 5th, 2025, I tried to go to Carl's Jr.'s to use my card for the Restaurant Meals program known as the RMP I've used my card and other restaurants. I never had issues at other Carl's Jr.'s but the one on McHenry here in Modesto gave me trouble. The manager said have you ever used at Carl's Jr , she said their system wasn't working. They were having trouble first of all. They're supposed to be using a white machine for this program not a black machine, not the regular card machine that she was actually trying to pass my card on and she said well the RMP program is for cash I said no it's not. I never had any trouble any place else. I said this restaurant and two other restaurants have given me trouble I said you're using the wrong machine and I was checking to make sure she was not double charging me after 15 minutes of her trying to swipe my card 20 times she said it was not going through. She actually told me that If I have enough funds on my card which I had I told her you know what "cancel the order" and I walked out. I went down the street to downtown to another restaurant I was able to do three purchases singly they went through! It's just that this Carl's Jr.'s the manager did not have the right machine. They did not know how to use the RMP system so I will never be going back there ever again for what I was going to spend over $30 , they can go to hell! me and my spouse are both disabled and over 60 years old to be treated like that I don't think so! I went to Carl's Jr. On McHenry Ave. In the drive through I ordered 3 burgers & I had to repeat my order several times as the lady repeated back to me a different order . Then, I get my burgers home , and all 3 hamburgers are wrong ! The 2 cheeseburgers had No cheese , and the western bacon cheese burger was ordered with No Bbq sauce & it had sauce all over it! To make it even worse : I went back to get the right burgers , and the guy at the counter could have cared less about the mistake . He never said sorry for the mistake & he was rude ! Placed a mobile order, asked for no Mayo and no special sauce on this burger. They refused to remake my order said that they couldn't make it without the special sauce and Mayo because they are too lazy to make fresh burgers. When you go inside they had 20 of the exact burger premade and getting old. I couldn't eat it if I wanted to the bacon looked undercooked and the bread cracked like it was sitting out in the open for a week. The burger also looked nothing like the picture, which normally burgers don't but this was extremely different from the advertisement. Straight to the trash, waste of time and gas. Never go to this location if you expect quality or good service. Edit: saw another review where they said they acted like you didn't have a mobile order even if you did place one and they did the same thing to me. The service at this location is beyond horrible. Staff is rude and has big attitude issues. Don't even try to use the app at this location even when they offer it through the drive through because they will make you put in a mobile order to get the coupon price at the window. The app states scan at restaurant but the staff are so rude they say their scanner won't reach your phone. After paying full price and waiting forever The food quality is bad it is cold and you can tell it was made hours ago. read more

Went to carl's Jr. 2800 McHenry today Thursday, February 25 3:30 PM in the afternoon. Went with my wife we went inside to order and while we were standing there waiting a roach ran across the counter you order from ran down the wall out onto the main floor were we are waiting to order. Another customer that was in there took his foot stomped on it and yelled to the lady working behind the counter you have roaches here. Her reply was oh well. So we left. When you have visible roaches in the daylight at 3:30 in the afternoon that means you have a bad infestation because roaches are nocturnal and only like darkness. Ok, let me preface this by saying I have been a loyal long term customer of Carl's for over 30 years, and been to many different restaurants. This is why it pains me physically to state, I will not be patronizing Carl's anymore after my visit tonight. I was shocked to pay 27.00 for my burgers tonight, one being the large #10, which is the low carb lettuce wrap combo and the other being a small #6 combo. I paid 13.00 for the #10 by itself. I believe that while Carl's has significantly raised their prices they have priced themselves out of the competition. I could go to Jack's, Taco Bell or Red Robin and pay less and get more. Has anyone gone here lately if so why and how do you afford it?? I ordered one combo meal and a sandwich and it was $22. Then when I asked to see the receipt the girl at window proceeds to ask me why. I politely say well I can't figure out why a combo and a single sandwich would be that much. They gave me the wrong sandwich and kept arguing with me, insisting that was what I ordered. I had to convince the manager that I had ordered a different sandwich. They forgot my water, and I had to go back to get a ranch dressing for my fried zucchini, although I also specifically requested one. Then the manager argued that there was already one in the bag! What a difference for years makes! This Carl's Jr. has seen some significant improvements since my last visit. My order was filled accurately, and my food was so hot and fresh that, when I reached into my bag to make sure my order was correct, I burned my finger, lol (not badly, so no lawsuits needed!). However, the only complaint I have is that my Beyond Meat Burger has a huge chunk of lettuce that filled up the burger. It comprised most of it. Food was great as always the only thing I have to say os when I asked for jalapeños on my burger they wanted to charge me. I then told them why are you charging for something that is not posted for me to see how much it will be. I looked down and on the scrren it said side order of sour cream. I then asked why did it say sour cream she said thats how we charge it. I told her no thats not what you are supposed to do and I will not be charged for something you don't have a button for.
