Ordered Grubhub from this location and it was amongst the worst food I've ever experienced. Never in my life have I had to peel off the batter of fish and chips, and chicken strips (even though we ordered wings). Upon peeling the batter off, we found the fish to be grey and had a funky taste. The tartar sauce was also super runny and tasted sour like pickled juice. The burger came sitting in a pool of grease as well but my boyfriend was able to eat it. Tried to Grubhub from here - and maybe that was the first mistake - only to get extremely oily food pooling in the to-go containers. Before I go further in describing the food, we tried to get wings, only to get chicken strips instead of what we ordered. Fries were old, oily, and soggy. The breading on the fish for our fish and chips was also soggy and the fish itself looked old since the batter had to be pulled off to even consider eating it. We discussed the pros and cons of smash burgers and he helped guide me on my order. I love the backyard seating area- its shady, open and has tons of seating. My favorite thing about them used to be their condiment bar, especially their marshmallow sauce. Now, it's gone. I was allotted one side of the marshmallow sauce because I got sweet potato fries- the consistency was.. gnarly. Extremely goopy- literally would not stick to the fries. My wife had the "Barn Yard", which is grilled chicken served with super yummy applewood bacon, Swiss cheese, and a great bun from Chocolate Maven. I had the Kobe, which is (despite the name) an outstanding burger using American Wagyu beef. It came perfectly cooked to order (Med rare), was juicy, and outstanding. I added green chile. This is one of the better GCCB (Green Chile Cheese Burgers) in town, up there with The MineShaft, which also has a Wagyu burger and Santa Fe Bite (formerly Bobcat Bite). My wife and I both had a side salad with our 'burgers', which was very good. Fresh greens and a lovely dressing. We split a side basket of the amazing duck fat French fries. Service was excellent, and the food came out quickly. You order your meal, take a number to your table, and then are served. With 14 people, everyone got the right order and was served quickly despite the large group. For the quality of the food and portions, this restaurant is quite affordable. Place was deserted on a weekday afternoon in September, and they have a nice little hidden courtyard outback to eat in for al fresco dining. Green Chile Burger was a good purists burger, great meat and cook but simple without some overpowering crazy sauce on it so you could really taste the meat and chiles. Fries were good including the duck fat fries (portion that comes with the burger is reasonable but not enough for a fry pig out.) Prices aren't a bargain but reasonable so close to the Plaza. Located near the plaza in Santa Fe New Mexico this place is a must stop. There are large selections of New Mexican cuisine, but they don't compare to this amazing hamburger. I got the green chili burger with fries. This meal reminded me so much of being a kid and having, homemade hamburgers for the Fourth of July. It was crispy on the outside and super juicy and so delicious on the inside . Service was great, ambience, was like many local establishments. Parking can be quite a challenge in Santa Fe but fortunately enough there's a parking garage right down the block from this amazing restaurant. We stumbled into this restaurant while on a road trip from Massachusetts. My husband told the chef that the classic burger was the best he has ever had in any restaurant. I had a great salad. This was a weird experience for me. We were excited to come in and order but we left immediately upon arriving because this establishment has a "vertical id policy." I am 22 years of age. Fully grown adult. They said multiple times that it's a "New Mexican state law" not to accept vertical ids. It is not! I went ahead and looked it up as soon as we left. There are MULTIPLE sources online that prove that this is false. Arizona does has a policy that you cannot order with a vertical id. New Mexico explicitly doesn't. I have tried to request a horizontal id in my home state multiple times and not gotten one. This is a ridiculous and unfair policy that is uniformed and shows bad service on their part, but frankly: I am willing to accept that. It was the fact that we were told this in a super rude way that made us upset. My partner and I both agreed that it felt extremely rude. We were celebrating a recent exciting development and the waitress / waiter combo at the front spoke to us so harshly about this policy that it sort of squashed our feelings for a WHILE afterward. It wasn't just "sorry we have this policy" it was like an assumption that we HAD to know this law that again, does not exist!!! The tone was super harsh. No attempt to redirect toward a different drink or literally any kindness in the phrasing. It just felt extremely tonally off and that's really why we left. The price points for the burgers were also very affordable, however I felt a little misled by the staff who said it came with fries or a side salad. After checking the bill (because you pay before you get your order) via email, I noticed that they did charge extra for sides. If you haven't done it, traveling and staying on a keto diet has its challenges. The Burger Stand has LOTS of outdoor seating and menu looked like there were some options (other than salad) for me. I placed my order and was kind of embarrassed to tell them I was doing keto "so hold the bun." They didn't think that was odd at all. (You place your order inside at the bar and they bring it out to you.) When the bartender brought my order out, they didn't just put the pirt on a plate. Park in the public space lot for $5 and come on down. Rustic, quaint ambience with indoor and outdoor seating (located behind the restaurant). Overall enjoyablle environment with friendly staff. Not many people during an early afternoon visit but I overhead a team member saying it gets very busy during the evenings. Note: I ordered my burger well done and next time will get it Medium-well. Deliciously tasty burger with awesome heat in the green Chile. The Classic was so much better than "classic" burger. Cheddar cheese, onion, tomato and fresh local greens. After calling a few restaurants in old town about food preparation for nut allergies, the person who answered the phone at the Burger Stand assured us our food would be prepared safely. we arrived to a dead restaurant and thought we had the wrong place -- the place was completely empty, that should've been our clue! Once we went inside, two people were behind the bar, we approached them and they seemed annoyed at us showing up. The young woman told us to order at the bar and pay. She was curt, short, and rushed us through our order. Her main interest was to upsell our order and explain that the last screen was for her tip. We added fries and I gave a tip. Our order came to $60+ We sat outside to an empty restaurant and eventually, the same two people brought our food with the same enthusiasm of a funeral procession. My teenage sons were equally incredulous at the service. The food was mid for the price but the service just killed the whole experience. We would have been better off ordering and getting our food directly from the kitchen.
