Took my 2022 GMC in for a nation wide recall for faulty or damaged retaining clips on the grill. Mine were faulty. They need several days to order them. Why would they not have them in stock knowing its a national recall. They sell Chevrolets, why bother having any on the lot. Always a disappointment when dealing with these people. read more

I bought a 2025 1500 ZR2 diesel and feel like I did well until I got hit with a $257 bill for a fuel filter when I got my so called free oil change. It would have been perfectly acceptable if they had warned me about the cost and I could have done it myself for $40. Buyers be ware. read more

I would leave zero stars if I could, I've been waiting since the end of March for a reimbursement. Their "finance" manger has done nothing in terms of helping me or keeping me updated. Their customer service is terrible as well, ugly attitude and tone when you're asking for help. I was also lied to about the work being done on my car. Took them a week to let me get my car because it was having work done, come to find out they had no proof of work being done. Worst service! I do not recommended at all, if you need a car anywhere else would be so much better. read more

I towed my Tahoe to Carlsbad NM Chevrolet on Monday morning April 27th and talked to Amy in service. I told her that while the transmission was in drive it would act like it would go in neural and would not drive and a few other things had been happening. I told her that my company probably was leaving New Mexico for good on Saturday morning and I would need the work done by Friday evening May 1st. I asked if it could be a computer problem or if my transmission needed rebuilding. I continued to call and try to talk to Amy during the week and she was not very good at returning calls. During one call Wednesday she said the mechanic said it would probably need a rebuilt transmission from GM and it would cost more for him to rebuild my transmission than to get a rebuilt transmission from GM. No problem how much is it. She quoted me $8,000. I said no way. She said that price included a lot of extras like changing the engine oil. I said I only wanted the transmission replaced and what was that price for during this. I asked for a detailed estimate and she said she was working on one. I never got a detailed estimate until I picked up my Tahoe. She said she would order the transmission. Thursday morning I called her again as I had not heard from her and she said the transmission had arrived. I said for sure I needed the car by Friday evening as my company was leaving for Houston for good and I would not have transportation or a place to stay. She said the mechanic was working on another car and it was not a transmission job. I asked about the price and she said it was around $6,000 and I asked for a detailed estimate and she said she was working on it, I also asked if I could get a discount as Permian Chevrolet had given me a discount the week before. She said she would try. I believe it was Thursday while talking to her she said she would call me later in the day. I had not heard from her and called around 4:15 and was told she had gone home early. Friday morning I called her again and I asked how long of a job this was. She said it would be a 3 or 4 hour job. She said the mechanic had been working on the other car for 4 days and should be finished soon and I would get my truck late Friday maybe even 6 pm. No problem I said as long as I could get it. I asked her if the mechanic could pull off of the other car since he had been working on it for 4 days and do my 4 hour job so I could go home Saturday morning. I told her if I could get my car by Friday evening I would give her and the mechanic $100 each. Friday evening I called again and Amy was on the phone and the lady I talked to said it would be ready next week. Nothing had been done on my Tahoe all week except a diagnostic check. I called her again on Monday evening as she was not calling me to update me and she said the mechanic just pulled it around so it must be done and she would get the paperwork ready. I told her I would drive all night and would be there Tuesday morning to pick it up. I drove to Carlsbad all night Monday night May 4th and arrived Tuesday May 5th to pick up my Tahoe. Amy finally had a detailed bill and it was $6,026.19. I asked her if she could give me a discount and she said she did discount it from $8,000. I called Permian Chevrolet and talked to a Service writer and they said the labor was going to be around $1,700 and they then transferred me to the Parts department and I gave them my vin number and the said the transmission would be about $4,700 and then $1,000 would be deducted from this for the core charge so the total with tax would be about $6,000. So the retail price was $6,000 and Amy promising to give me a discount did not happen. I am very happy with the mechanic's work. So it seems Amy does not do a good job keeping customers informed and plays a game with the quoting of jobs. Perhaps she quotes a high price to see if you are agreeable and if you are not happy with the price she then adjusts it to where it should have been to begin with. She claims she did give me a discount when in reality it was the same price as Permian Chevrolet. It did not seem that the other car the mechanic was working on was ahead of me it just got ahead of me as Amy was waiting for the transmission to arrive from GM. Once the transmission arrived from GM I hoped work would begin right away on my Tahoe but as you see it sat there until Monday. Since the beginning I had stressed how I had to have my Tahoe fixed by Friday. It just seems like I had been misled on pricing and misled on how long it could take. I had to arrange for someone to drive me back to Carlsbad so I could pick up my Tahoe. I am not happy about how I was misled and treated at Carlsbad Chevrolet. read more

The worst service I have ever had from a car service dealer. This is the second time I have come here for oil change and service. First time I had a service light come on and they were unable to check it. Really? And asked for oil change and tires rotated ladies at the desk never relayed the message to the mechanics had to go through the manager. This time I came in for oil change and was told it needed a recall service at 4:30 after waiting all day for a call from the service desk I find the recall was never done. I live an hour away and I will never come back to Carlsbad Chevrolet for service and cannot recommend this business to anyone. read more

I would like to thank David Medley and his staff for inspecting my car shortly after business hours. They noted that I was desperate for someone to examine my vehicle AC. They later determined that my AC compressor needed to be replaced. They did not have the part, but I appreciate their willingness to stay after hours and check out the problem with my AC. read more

Yes sir; I was so happy with my 2500 LTZ 4x4, that I returned a few days later to purchase a 2019 Camero! They have been nothing but kind, informative, and helpful throughout the purchase process! Wish you could give no stars...Awful service! If you value your time don't go here!! They were the closest affiliate of AAA so they sent them out for roadside assistance. They broke my car lock which I did not notice until the next day when I was locked out of my car. Kind of a bummer but you know what I'll let them fix it no fuss. Well I call and they tell me I signed a paper saying they weren't liable. That's great if I signed something but I didn't. So receptionist said she had to get a manager. The manager refused to do his job and talk to me, he spoke through his receptionist. I left him messages and no return call. We call AAA and they basically yell at them to fix it. They said bring the car down (an hour away) and we will do a one day turn around. We drive the distance to drop the car off and when we get there the receptionist tells us to have a seat ( no one else waiting) while she finished her personal call to her "babe." Once she's off the phone she goes to get her manager which is easily retrievable....for such a busy guy I'm amazed. Then we call to check on it that night for progress they tell us they will call us back. No call. Next morning we call and they say oh well yesterday we saw no problem with the lock. All they did was press the power lock...the key whole does not work!! They didn't even call to tell us they found nothing wrong. Again asked to speak to a manager and he was "busy" too busy to do his job. This has now been day two and they say they will be done tomorrow. We are from out of town and were supposed to leave that day (which we reminded them over and over). They didn't call us that next day at all after we left several messages for an update. Finally we get ahold of them right before they close and they say the car is ready. Well we have an hour drive to get there so we wouldn't make it before close. Another day delayed. Finally we go to pick up the car and no one is at the front desk. My car is in the front of the shop, UNLOCKED---someone please just take it....then there was no one inside to give me keys. I had to wait on them after all the hassle they gave me. 100% worst service I have ever gotten ANYWHERE. The service department is awful! read more

I was driving down the Hobbs highway about a week ago when A semi truck had dropped most of its cargo. I had no other option but to continue driving straight into the contents or cause an accident by swerving. Unfortunately after running over a huge metal bar going about 55mph my car started acting weird and was making strange noises. I took it to my friend who is a mechanic and he said that one of the sensors would need to be replaced and some other minor issues caused by the impact. I took the car to Carlsbad Chevrolet and I was greeted by Tyree from service. I had to leave my car there for two weeks but Tyree kept me informed and updated every step of the way! read more

Has to be one of the worst companies I have ever had to deal with. We had so many problems I'm not sure where to even begin. The first sign should have been when they pulled up in a different truck then the one we agreed on after we completed the paperwork. They sold us the wrong truck. The next big problem came when the very next week we had to already replace a tire and of course the manager told us that wouldn't be covered under warranty. Then a month later we got the truck payment taken out for the vehicle we traded in because they had not paid it off. It has been three months and I still can't get them to pay it off. No one is helpful. No one will call me back. It's been three months and another tire has to be replaced because it developed a ball in it. It was obviously defective, but yet again apparently our warranty doesn't cover it. Since then I have spoken with many people who informed me everyone in Carlsbad knows not to go there.
