I can't speak to the quality of the chiropractic services; I never got to see the practitioner. I made an appointment two weeks out, arrived 10 minutes early for my first visit, and then proceeded to wait 40 minutes until the doctor came out and got ANOTHER patient before me. So, a whole two appointments behind and no apology or explanation. I gave up 15 minutes after that point and just left. If this doctor isn't going to respect my time, they aren't for me. I guarantee that I'd have billed and rescheduled if I were more than 10-15 minutes late but I'm supposed to wait more than an hour for my appointment? No thank you! read more

Dr Jacobs is always sensitive to what is going on and works around the issue. I do not recommend. After two weeks of adjustments. I did not go along with FINANCIAL PLAN. I went in for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I was willing to take a chance. Too many red flags! My back was in so much pain! The last two adjustments. I ended up going to a chiropractor that my insurance provided. My hips were twisted bad! After 3 x a week for 2 weeks! My Good New Chiropractor said If I was being adjusted correctly. My hips wouldn't be like this. I'm now good after 5 adjustments 1 every 2 weeks! read more

I first have to say that I believe the intent of the doctor I saw, and the overall intent of this business is good. However, I was really bummed out with my experience. I made my appointment and went in with the hope that I would have anything that could pop be popped, and maybe one of the many knots I have in my back relieved from something they cracked. What happened was some X-rays (which I appreciate the time she took being thorough) some general testing of my range and what hurts, a really long health history overview, and then on my second appointment finally I was to get an adjustment. She was so gentle that I didn't fell any different leaving the appointment than I did when I walked in. I will say I so appreciate how much information she gave me and how much detail she went into with regards to what is normal v. my back. If you want a gentle easy introduction to a chiropractor this may be your place; if you want someone to just crack what you know you want cracked and not looking for "gentle" then this isn't the place for you. Everyone there was nice, it just seemed like a waste since I didn't gain anything by going to two very long appointments, and I felt like it was more of a stretched out sales pitch for repetitive appointments rather than an adjustment. Overall I was beyond disappointed, which is why I'm only giving them one star. read more

Make sure they check your insurance and approve it BEFORE you go in. We were referred to Carlsbad Chiropractic by our health insurance provider (Blue Shield), which the office said they accepted. But since our plan was managed by American Specialty Health, they would not accept our insurance. Apparently they used to accept American Specialty Health, but no longer do, and our insurance had not updated their account on our in-network provider list. This was communicated to us AFTER our second visit. The office should be looking into your coverage before you start treatment so you're aware of your co-pays. Most offices do. But that did not happen in our case, and we ended up having to pay over $400 for our initial consult and one adjustment. Again, being told the costs AFTER our visit. It's a HUGE bummer, because we really liked this chiropractor and found him to be very knowledgable. But the office staff is not as competent. read more

My initial pain on a scale of 1-10, I was a 9-10 and I can take a lot of pain. My Story; I have lower back, sciatic, neck, shoulder, arm and elbow pain. The back and sciatic pain hit me last Sept. and I had never seen a Chiropractor. I had just dealt with the pain from my job for years, so much so that I thought the pain on a daily basis was just normal and never the time to worry about it, until the sciatic/lower back pain started again. My husband stated I should go see Dr. Higgins and that he thought he was wonderful, professional and knew what he was doing!! Off I went early January because I couldn't deal any longer. First impression of his staff and Dr. Higgins; very professional, precise, friendly and personable. He consulted me, I received a verbal plan, which included initial x-rays to speak to problem areas (not just my sciatic/sacrum but my other issues too). He reviewed the x-rays with me and then he devised a thorough written plan to relieve me from the initial pain and suffering, and into rehabilitation chiropractic care which includes four detailed phases; "fixing the problem" which includes; Relief (Corrective), followed by Healing, Rehabilitation (Strengthening) and Sustainment. He also included working my arms/shoulder stemmed from my neck out of alignment causing all the muscle tightness in my shoulders and arm issues. Currently, I'm in the healing stage and can't tell you that I'm 100% better because there is so much we are working on. But I went from lower back/sciatic pain point of 9-10 to appx. a 2-3 now!! We have started most recently working more on my neck/shoulder/arm relief. There are some good days and bad days during this journey. It's getting better every day by following the 2-3 day per week adjustment/therapy visits, along with the "Back Care Instructions" they give you, the at home ice/therapy, at home exercises, at home neck/wedge treatments along with several doses of ice sessions on all the affected areas! YOU need to Love ICE besides Dr. Higgins!! Trust in me on this review and Trust in Dr Higgins! He is a good man along with his staff, they do generally care for your entire well being. Dr. Jeff and Dr. Chelsea are great. I limped into their office with severe back problems and was in extreme pain. I meet with Dr. Jeff and he was able to diagnose my problems and quickly come up with plan to get my back to being healthy again. I have been to several chiropractors over 10 years and have found that Dr Higgins is the best I have ever seen! I came to Dr Higgins (Dr J) some time ago with back pain from 3 herniated discs I got while working as a firefighter/paramedic. I've had these since my mid twenties (now 36) and have been to several chiropractors over the years looking for relief. Instead of just throwing me on a table, Dr J spent a lot of time talking about what was going on and my options and goals. He asked me to bring in my MRI results so he could look at what was going on. He's not a "rack em and crack em" kind of doctor but really cares to find out what's going on. And my care didn't stop with that. Dr J gave me not only relief for my back, but a lot of insight about my leaky gut and my gluten intolerance. I try and get in to see Dr J whenever I can! I also recommended my mother in law to see him because she has knee and hip issues. Now she sees Dr J once a week and has zero desire to go anywhere else.
