    2014 Ford Mustang Convertible

My experience with CarMax was by far the best experience I've ever had at a dealership. No pressure, no haggling, competitive pricing, and a great atmosphere. Lee Anne Schembre was my sales associate at CarMax in Cranston/Warwick and immediately put me at ease. She is kind, relatable, professional and walked me through each stop of my car purchase. The entire staff is truly exceptional. Not going anywhere else for a car.

It's all that's wrong with car that I purchased 7 months ago.

Not very good in customer service. There is no help in service. Not everyone has the same info. So very confusing. They sell you bad cars in areas that are not covered by their warranty, so they never have to pay to fix them. Just be careful. They sell cars that are ready to go and need the major repair they fall back on that inspection to say it was just at the mark to sell it with no warning. This is dangerous. They get double the money with no help on a car they sold someone 7 months ago. Check the price of book value first they all are double. I took it higher, but because my husband got upset and with justification cause the problems had been going on so long, he had it for my stress. The executive team decided to end my call cause my husband swore, so they said. I did not hear him, but we were on speaker. He deals with customers, too he is never that arrogant and condescending as Tom is. Lots of lies come out of their mouths. 2 stars only cause Janet is awesome. Also, I thought I should have 4 decent tires on car 2, same in front back, and two are different. Be very, very careful. Asking the other person in our car ,my husband did not swear at them he actually turned his head from the phone, and she heard a bit of it. She used it to side in the wrong. But I'll know better next time, just telling you to be very careful. The car place I have doing the repairs says no way could I have done that much damage to brakes in 7 months. Just be very, very careful . If you have to go here, fight for yourself before you buy. Regular stuff is about to go on all their cars. There was lots wrong with it and I heard noise from the beginning, and they never looked at the car correctly. Oh yeah, when u get on a group chat, just be aware that they communicate by text behind the chat. Very sad experience for me after already dealing with an accident and injuries. Very sad. Oh yeah, the manager said, "Why buy it? If you heard a noise, why cause you people said it was fine in those words? There's nothing wrong." Bad experience. Tom also said I let it sit cause I only put 3000 miles on it in 7 months. No, I drove it every day back and forth to work and grandaughter to school. Just not a lot of miles, so again I did not put this wearand tear on vehical, it had all these things wrong with it when i bought it and still they told me the noise was just the vehicle. So you're supposed to believe in what they say cause they were supposed to look at my complaint. Just because I had the warranty, they still think selling me the car in this condition was a good thing. Ok, again, sad experience. Good luck all. At test drive you can tell them if you want something looked at I did, there supose to call you with what they found they did not just put it back on lot and in computer for sale again. So right there, I should have known something was up. Very strange operation. More, I think of it sadder. It is the sader I get .I'll stick to the dealer ship next time. First time ever buying a used car. Here at car max, they cheated another person . Another one for their books. They were quick to point out what I should of did different, when do they accept what they did wrong through this purchase and service mess.

Walked in without an apt. They set me up with Neida to inspect my car. A couple hours later, a little while later my quote emailed to me. This was the one in Warwick, RI. Very happy with the quote too. Took all of 20 minutes there.

Well, I think I'm the only person who has had an OK experience here. I purchased a 2001 Jetta in…read moreJanuary and despite all the negative reviews my car was quickly deteriorating and I needed something ASAP. Also, I'm a sucker for VW's... having my guard up I almost didn't go through with the sale as not being able to take the car to a mechanic pre-sale is a HUGE red flag, but I am young and stubborn so I took my chance. The owner did the whole car salesman thing where they say someone else is willing to pay 500 more than you and I'm not a complete idiot, I've heard that many times before and people don't take a 400.00 hit out of kindness and I don't know many people who offer more than the asking price in the first place. The car was cute, but not thaaaat cute. The next day, the check engine comes on and all the bad reviews came back to me and I was so prepared for the worst, that I was sick to my stomach. Was put in contact with his younger brother George and after checking the code it was my Cat Converter and my power steering fluid was leaking. Had the power steering fixed that weekend and waited for the cat converter. and waited. and waited. By the time I called I was beyond the 30 days and asked if the part had come in and of course, it had. Went in to get it fixed and fully expected to be charged since it was now after 30 days and I was not! Just to be sure that the light hadn't simply been reset, I took it to my regular mechanic and the Cat Converter had been replaced with a new one, it wasn't a VW one, but a universal one, which my mechanic said is OK. While this wasn't perfect and smooth, my car checked out, is driving wonderfully and hasn't given me any problems since. If it does, I'll be sure to update my review!!!! Also, everyone, even if your contract says you have no warranty, every dealership has to give a minimum of 30 day warranty in RI :) **Update, was told my timing belt was replaced, when I took it to Han's in North Kingstown (BEST place), they showed me that it was loose and the original timing belt. Called up George and it is getting fixed in three days for me with no hassle or attitude! If you have a problem with a car bought from Sandy lane, talk to George directly if possible. He has a good memory of each individual customer that he interacts with which is helpful.

So just read and reveal before you bash this company:…read more While their demeanor is "rough edged" it's not without noting; they are a large producer of vehicles; they often have their lots full; and that's both sales and service. So for all these 1 star reviews; I think they are inadequate. They are customers who were expecting a Balise, Grieco, Flood dealership; not real understanding the current supply and demands. I recently purchased the Taurus PI on Monday 2/28/22. Sod I have possession yet... no, fortunately the inherent risk of faults in a used vehicle was identified prior to my vehicle leaving the lot. And they are willingly and without obligation fixing the vehicle. So will it take a few days; yeah, it's a timing chain (a known ford weakness). Now for people to bash this company is unfair; they aren't thief's or crooks; they are trying to mass sell lots of cars. Every used car has its prior quirks; may contain an issue or two. And for people to expect that they be selling cars with 100% no issues is unreliable to trust in. I bought a Jeep Patriot from Prestige Auto; and it had a bad CV... guess what; not Prestige's fault; it's an underlying risk of buying a used vehicle. MultiPoint Inspections mainly seek out immediate drivability and service issues (low oil, not the leak causing it, tire wear- replace if needed, legal levels of brake pads.) no used car dealer is gonna strip down and check every last inch of the vehicle from actuators to xeon headlamps. As a purchaser of a used car; it's is the Customers responsibility to know and understand what work may be needed to look for; their capacity to have it done; and the capacity of if it's worth adding the expense. Every car has a chance for failure; I've seen 2022 vehicles with dead batteries and pcms. I've seen 2002 vehicles running on original parts; it's not a story of its the dealers problem; it's a story of you're accepting the ownership and responsibility of a vehicle in used condition. You chose Sandy lane; not any of the dozens of other dealers; so stop blaming them; you had options and choices; so you made the conscious decision; no one else. As for their behavior; I'd be pissy too if I was fixing all the underlying issues customers demand. Again it's NOT Sandy Lanes fault; wholesale used car lots are littered with issues; but they're trying their best, for the most part at no cost to the customer. So I will give them a 4 start; because all the 1 stars are narrowminded who look at their issues and not that of the entire sales process and the back workings
