Car is sitting. Can't drive. Stranded as the car is useless at 800 a mo after ins.

Purchased a 2021 Nissan Sentra 5 months ago. My brother who is a mechanic and has worked on cars since age 9 has already told me that it needs brakes and I also found deep divets in the paint through all layers all around the car. Also noticed a film of paint on my rotors that match the orange paint on the car? This can result in build up on the brake pads and cause brake failure. Not to mention, what's with the mystery paint job? The absolute worst part of this is that my brother says the transmission is slipping and he also disclosed to me that the tires are the wrong size 235/50/18 and the correct size for this model is 215/45/18 as it states in the door on the tag. Furthermore, my fenders and wheel wells are significantly damaged as are the tires because they've been rubbing on the car for about 5 mo. It only has just over 2.5 k more on it since sold to me and with a mortgage payment size expense after insurance, it sits. Waiting to see if they will call me back and fix this before things gets mire expensive and they need to cover a rental and repairs punitive...etc ... Will update review depending how fast they correct this.

Y'all. We were in the market for a used car and we had a bit of a challenge. My last car was a Subaru Impreza which I loved, but I leased it before my partner and I were serious and he's 6'5". The Impreza was uncomfortable for him as a passenger and impossible for him as a driver. We knew we needed something bigger. We stopped at the Nissan dealer nearby and tried a Rogue. I really liked it, but didn't like the dealer. We decided to stop by Carmax because we knew they'd have a wide selection of SUVs across brands for us to try to see what was comfortable for him. We walked in without an appointment and they assigned someone to us but said it would be a little bit. They told us all the cars have the keys in them (in a little metal box that's locked) and we could get in and out of as many as we wanted while we waited. We tried a few different ones before Will called to tell us he was ready for us. We talked him through our situation and test drove a Ford Escape Titanium. It was... ok. I had some reservations about how complicated the infotainment system was and I didn't like the windshield wipers (if you're buying you might as well like everything right?) We talked about Rogues after that but didn't test drive that day. We left with a little more info on how to navigate the website and Will's number. We told him we'd be back Friday or Saturday. I reached out on Friday and we got the first appointment on Saturday. I told him which Rogue I was interested in and he had it waiting for us to check out and test drive. I really liked it and thus began the easiest car buying experience of my life. No pressure. No hidden fees. Nothing. We walked in at 9am and I was driving home by 11am. It was fantastic. I really appreciated everyone there but especially Will for his patience and understanding. They even put a bow on it when you pick it up to drive home!

The vehicle was reasonably priced, which is why I inquired about repairs needed since there was money in their budget for them. Pat assured me "I wouldn't sell you a car that needed work." One week later she takes it for an oil change, numerous costly issues, including some related to safety. Reached out to them on her behalf and got a similar nasty response to the ones I see here. BTW the mechanic who checked her car out literally asked "why would you let her buy from there, they are the worst!!" BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

Pat Skelly told me he was "raised Irish Catholic by a marine" and that made him trustworthy & that this was "the cleanest car" they'd sold off the lot this year. Shook my hand on my way out with my new-used car, thanking me for my "trust". A week later my mechanic looks at the car - bad rear brakes & a leaking radiator - 4-figures to fix. When I reached out to Pat he told me not to contact him again saying he couldn't be bothered with my auto shop. I said I'd like to return the car, that if he stood by what he sells he should easily be able to sell it to someone else. He told me to get a lawyer. Pat Skelly doesn't stand by what he sells and the condition of his lot should tell you all you need to know about his operating practices. Shop elsewhere.

All are expensive but it's better to maintain the vehicle because who can afford a new car? I needed new tires. When I bought my car I was given the "free tires for life" program provided my maintenance was done by them. I did all maintenance with berterra and when it was time for tires, I was only given a $600 discount not free tires for life. So that was misleading. I got the new tires and alignment and new sensors, $$$$. Car runs well now. Hope to have the car for another 100,000 miles.

Horrible Dealership- Avoid at all cost…read more I purchased my Subaru from Bertera and have had the vast majority of service performed there over the years. Unfortunately, when a serious issue arose, the dealership completely failed to stand behind the customer relationship. My Subaru's STARLINK radio unit failed, a well-documented issue that was the subject of a class action lawsuit and warranty extension. The radio had already been replaced once under warranty with the same unit. When it failed again, Bertera quoted $2,200 to replace it with the exact same component again. During the process I was told Subaru of America had never been involved with my vehicle, which turned out to be incorrect. Subaru's own records later showed three goodwill repairs totaling $1,752.73 connected to my vehicle. Instead of addressing the misinformation or helping resolve the situation, the dealership simply passed responsibility elsewhere and ultimately refused any assistance. I ended up repairing the radio myself through an independent electronics specialist for about one-third of the price. After years of loyalty as a customer, the takeaway was clear: once a problem falls outside their narrow policies, Bertera Subaru has no interest in helping. Very disappointing experience.

Not only was their customer service horrible, but they over charge for repairs and make false promises. Before I had it towed there, I checked in with service and told me they'd be able to schedule me for the next day at noon. I also told them I needed a loaner vehicle, which the woman said all I had to do was talk to my service advisor about it...both were LIES. They didn't even unlock my car until late the day after that and then called me 15 mins later telling me they weren't sure but it may be the thermostat and gaskets, and then 5 mins after that added the water pump which doubled the repair cost (over $3,500) They charge a whopping $315 an hour!!!! And a $400 diagnostic charge!!! I said I'm not paying this unless they're absolutely sure it's what's wrong with my car. I ended up speaking to another service person who said they were gonna take another look at it Monday. Meanwhile no loaner so I ended up renting a car. After several conversations back and forth, and one with the actual Service Manager who basically started the conversation with saying "Not to be combative, but..." I ended up being so disgusted and dissatisfied with the service I called my dealer again (Mercedes Benz of North Haven) and they said they'd take a look at it and their repair hourly rate and diagnostic is significantly less. They're also taking a video of the diagnostic and sending the invoice right away. Already leaps better! Never again.

Pete took the time to explain what the first service on the car would be, checked for recalls and service advisories (there was one), told me how long it would take for the normal service plus the amount of time it would take to resolve the service advisory. I was then directed to their guest waiting area which had plenty of seating areas to allow for social distancing. Liked the guest area where coffee, tea, soda, water, and various snacks were located. Getting a video of the safety inspection was a surprise and a nice touch. I was kept advised of how things were going and the wait time was actually less than stated which was nice. Overall this was one of the best service calls that I have had and look forward to doing business with Hengras in the future.

Bought my last XC90 used from them, got 2 key fobs with the car. Within 6 months one of the fobs needed a new battery. Having changed my own fob batteries for the last 15 years, I opened it up and replaced the battery. A tiny (and I mean minuscule) piece of cheap plastic fell off that was tasked with holding the battery in a precise location inside the fob, rendering it useless! I used the second fob until it was time for service and then brought in the non-working one to them to look at. I was told it would be over $700 for a new one! The computer part of the fob was perfect-only a tiny piece of plastic to seat the battery was missing. Nope-need a whole new one! I spoke with the service manager, Peter, explaining what had happened, no deal. $700 for a new one. I explained that I have changed the fob batteries for years in my prior cars with no issue and was told that perhaps I should have called the service department to do it for me. I found that to be incredibly condescending. I asked them if they checked the fobs for issues prior to reselling a used car and was told that's not part of the pre-certified process. So no idea if the plastic was already cracked prior to my opening it. I suggested that they replace the fob for free, due to the issue and no guarantee the plastic wasn't cracked when I received it. After much back and forth, and a promise from Peter for a prompt return call, I had to call him back a week and a half AFTER he promised to call. Eventually Peter dropped the replacement fob cost to $375. I refused. I went to Mitchell Volvo and they were able to fix it no charge. After 15 years-Gengras has lost all of my business. I will buy my cars from Mitchell Volvo and I suggest others do the same.
