We did everything ahead of time online and worked with Malcolm when we arrived. There were a couple of hiccups (I didn't have my title on hand for the trade in and was told by someone else that I needed it and couldn't trade in my car, but then Malcolm confirmed with me that I owned the vehicle outright and was able to get me a duplicate title for under $20). The process did take a while (we arrived 15-20 minutes late for a 1:30pm appt but didn't leave until around 6pm. There were a few issues we noticed with the car during the 20 minute test drive but Malcolm was able to put in some work requests before we left so that we could still leave with our new car and come back for free repairs. Overall, the process was way smoother than a regular dealership with haggling and unfair practices. It's only been a day but I would use CarMax again.

Konnery was Great! Much appreciated! Smooth process and we got exactly what we wanted! Fantastic sales person, answered ALL of our questions and was super knowledgeable. Very Smooth transaction! We will be back here!

    Brakes were squeaking loud.

I wish i could leave 0 stars. ** Piss Poor Service Department. Piss Poor location!** My car-buying experience with Carmax was far from ideal. Despite their claims of a thorough vehicle inspection, my first car stopped accelerating in the middle of traffic, nearly causing an accident. After that terrifying ordeal, I reluctantly opted for a second vehicle, which wasn't even my first choice. To make matters worse, as soon as I drove it home, the brakes started screaming. Needless to say, I returned it. Save yourself the hassle--shop around elsewhere. Carmax simply doesn't live up to their promises.

Utilize extreme caution by allowing the service center to perform any maintenance on your vehicle,…read moreas they are hasty and operate with bush-league level competence. The following is my account: On August 25, 2026, I outright purchased a certified preowned 2025 Toyota Tacoma from AutoNation Toyota Thornton Road. The following day, I noticed that some of the tailgate insert letters were peeling off and the driver's side parking sensor was coming loose (eventually it completely fell off inside the bumper). After notifying the sale associate of the issues, I was told to bring the vehicle back to the dealership for inspection, which I did the next day, with the defective parts, which would need to be ordered, determined to be covered under warranty. That weekend, while washing the truck, I decided to look underneath the front bumper and noticed where screws were missing on the driver's side that secure the felt liner to the bumper. Concerned that the liner could be torn, I inserted a few stainless-steel screws to fasten the material accordingly. On August 31, 2026, at 1:00pm, I arrived at the service center to have the warranty issues addressed and pointed out the missing screws that needed to be replaced with OEM parts. Around 5:00pm, I was notified that the work was complete. Upon inspecting said work, I noticed that the driver's side parking sensor bracket was missing and now the passenger side parking sensor was loose, with the service advisor taking the vehicle back for additional inspection. About 30 minutes later, the service advisor returned with the truck stating that the bracket for both parking sensors and the double-sided tape for the passenger side parking sensor needed to be ordered and replaced. It should be noted that the driver's side double-sided tape for the parking sensor, the tailgate insert letters, and the above-stated front bumper screws were replaced during this visit. I expressed concern that repairs need to be completed correctly and that double-checking a Toyota service technician's work is a step I should not have to take. When I arrived home that evening, I decided to look under the passenger side bumper, as the parking sensor on that side fell inside the bumper, and noticed that the screws in that area holding the felt liner were now missing, with the liner torn from the wind. It was easy to infer that the service technician hastily inspected that section and never reinserted the screws, causing the damage to occur. I immediately notified the service advisor of the issue and was informed that the damage was covered under warranty. Like before, I inserted a few stainless-steel screws to fasten the mangled material, hoping it would prevent additional damage from taking place. On September 8, 2026, at 1:00pm, I arrived at the service department to have additional repairs completed. Around 4:00pm, I was told that the work was finished, with me inspecting the truck shortly thereafter only to discover that the screws I inserted were reused instead of using OEM parts and other screws and fasteners were now missing where the wheel well liner was replaced. In addition, the passenger side brake air duct was not properly seated. I voiced frustration with the service center's workmanship and questioned if any job they perform could be trusted. I compared the work that needed to be conducted as essentially "plug and play," meaning that any novice could do it. And for a certified technician and other Toyota employees to overlook the deficiencies that I explicitly pointed out was very disappointing and unprofessional. After expressing my concerns, I was assured that all identified hardware would be ordered and replaced. On September 10, 2026, at 1:00pm, I arrived at the service center to have additional repairs completed. At 3:00pm, I was notified the work was finished, with me inspecting the truck around 3:30pm. I discovered that the bottom of the passenger side fender flare, which is the location where the brake air duct was replaced, was not secured to the truck. Once again, the incompetence of the service center was on full display. It took over an hour to fix the issue (double-sided tap needed to be replaced), with me leaving around 5:00pm. In total, AutoNation Toyota Thorton Road's ineptitude cost me roughly 20 hours of my time and about $60 in gas. And the response I received for the mess they created...a verbal apology appreciating my patience and professionalism and a handshake. What a joke!! I would highly suggest going elsewhere to purchase a vehicle and/or to have one serviced.
