This store is the absolute best! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. They made a big fuss over my Izzie, and she fully basked in the attention. This shop has everything that you could possibly want for your pampered pup, and probably more than a few things you never even knew you needed. We went to Carmel for three days, and went to the store every day. We bought a water bottle for our hikes, some adorable sheltie magnets for the fridge, and these amazing duck-flavored treats that Izzie adores. I've never seen her so excited about anything made for dogs. We stayed at the Cypress Inn, which is right next door to the shop, and on our evening walks, Izzie would stop and lay down on their welcome mat, she knew that this was her place, and of course they would be back soon to spoil her. We often stop in to the Carmel Dog Shop to purchase CBD bacon treats for our 13 year old poodle. The cuteness of products to choose from in this store is endless! Today I purchased another doggie ascot to add to my poodles growing collection. I have to say the assistance I receive from the owners is absolutely top notch, they are always kind and willing to help you find just what you need with a smile. Came to Carmel for the first time this weekend with my bf and we were excited to shop locally. We wanted to get our dogs a few treats/toys since we couldn't bring them on the trip this time. When we walked into the store, the employee looked at us and did not say anything. I'm not sure if she thought we were just window shopping? But I did not want to assume. There was another couple in the store and when they walked out she said bye and to have a nice day. Right as they walked out, another white couple walked in and immediately were greeted with a smile and enthusiastic welcome. I told my boyfriend about the employees lack of customer service to us, a Latino couple, and we decided not to spend our money in that establishment. When we walked out, we weren't told to have a good day or anything. We were just stared at by the employee. I am glad we did not spend any money there. I am not sure what the employees issue is but if you are a POC, shop elsewhere for your dog. read more

This shop is like your Disneyland for all doggy things!!! Right off the bat, the owner greeted not us, but our fur baby! She was a huge help when deciding which harness best fit our dog. Visited this cute doggy boutique today. 9/3/22. I was excited to visit this store as the yelp reviews are really great. It was a nice and cheery atmosphere. Decorated very well and had a good selection of clothing, accessories and treats. They actually had a very nice dog stroller for sale. I've purchased my last two dog strollers off the internet because I could not find a brick and mortar store anywhere that carried them in stock. Had I not just ordered and received a new stroller yesterday, I would have purchased this stroller here today. I bought a sweet dog vest and several bully stick treats. We came in to the Carmel Dog Shop just to browse. We were visiting Carmel and were missing our pup. We were greeted by the friendliest man who worked there. We exchanged stories about our dogs and he told us a little about Carmel. I needed to buy CBD oil for my dog as we had run out. I love this shop and i love Cindy (owner) . The scent and the music really set a very calm ambiance. Cindy was very welcoming and kind to us and my blind dog Penny. Penny loved the store and didn't wanna leave. She got lots of loving from Cindy and was able to taste some treats as well. The store has a lot of stuff...like a LOT! She clearly adores dogs and will happily cuddle yours while you shop. The store is a colorful and delightful feast to your eyes. The shelves are lined with all manner of dog (and some kitty) goods from toys, to leashes & collars, fabulous treats and even special outfits & coats. Holidays are represented by specialty collars, kerchiefs, toys and ensembles. There is even a great display of dog & cat greeting cards for every occasion. Somewhat disappointed in customer service. On the positive side it is a very nice store with a great selection of things for dogs. The negative is how they handled our complaint. A cute Gnome dog toy we purchased had a squeaker in the toy. Our small puppy tore into the cloth covering it and pulled out the squeaker. It was small enough to swallow. We called the store and they said the next time we were in town to come by for a credit. Nice offer but rather false. We live 1 1/2 hours away and won't be making the trip soon. We had just arrived in Carmel and happened upon this new shop. The door was open, and my dog immediately led us inside, so in we went. I was immediately taken by their selection of super cute dog bandanas, which came in several patterns and sizes and are reversible. I also liked that they had little buttons that you use to snap them on rather than having to tie them. We found two really cute fall and Halloween themed bandanas for our cattle dog, as well as an indestructible soccer ball. The owner is also extremely friendly and helpful. read more
