I've taken my Yorkie (Spoon) here three times now and she's AMAZING. Spoon LOVES going there and she is more reasonable then any other groomer from Carmel to San Francisco. I travel from San Francisco just to take Spoon here. Spoon is a 7 lb. Yorkie and she has her in and out of there in about 40 minutes flat. You'll love Hair of the Dog.

When I brought my dog to Janna at Hair of the Dog, Janna was immediately concerned. She took the time to completely remove my dog's undercoat, and cut away hair that was hopelessly matted. Janna also trimmed my dog's nails, which is not an easy task, since my dog really dislikes it. When I picked up my dog I couldn't believe how much better she looked. All that nasty undercoat had been removed and "feathers" trimmed. I can't remember her looking so good since she was a puppy. Janna was so friendly to me and my dog. I know when my dog has not been treated well (yes, she speaks to me and is a diva!).

I posted a recent snapshot of the current client rules as of June 2026. They now include a "45 minute window" of time to pick up your dog after they have notified you that your dog has been finished. Why not a reciprocal "45 minute window" of time for you to groom my dog from the time I drop him off at your grooming salon?

Their new location at the Barnyard is such a great move -- it's larger, roomier, and has easy parking, which makes everything so much more convenient. They even have cute dog jewelry, which is such a fun touch. They're also open on Saturdays, which is a huge plus. I truly would not recommend anyone else for pet grooming. I had been searching for a mobile groomer because it's tough to take both pups at the same time and my rescue doesn't get along with other dogs and that can be an issue taking her. Shane was on time, so nice and gentle and their nails were done better than any of the groomers we've been to around here. My mastiff did so well with him despite it being their first meeting! I will definitely be using Shane for as long as possible and if you have any doggie anxiety issues or just want your fur babies to feel more relaxed at home you need to have Shane come out.

It's a wholesome bet that still calls about the family. They are always current on new medications and treatments. The app that they use makes it's easy to set up appointments and send reminders. And the have a military discount and with the Army not having a vet at Ord anymore this place I think is the pace to go. I also still think their prices are very reasonable especially for this area. I've been to several states in my work over the years and this is one of the more fair and affordable vets. They also have information on animal hospitals in the area should you need one. They are all connected through the app.
