These ladies are the most amazing florists in Charlotte. Their flowers come from Europe and are not "hot house" flowers we so often see. The flowers reach their peak many days after delivery, and they light up the room with their huge blossoms and fragrance. The owners may not speak perfect English and their flowers may not be cheap, but they are worth EVERY PENNY! VERY Disappointed!! The whole point of showing photos of floral options is so that the buyer knows exactly what is being purchased. This eliminates sender and recipient disappointment. Fresh flowers are pricier in some parts of the country, so it's important that the photo be a true representation of what will arrive. I sent my mother a "Christmas Dozen" red roses in a red vase and upgraded it to premium. My mom actually sent me a picture of an arrangement that someone else had sent her, because she didn't want me to be embarrassed at how my arrangement looked. I called Carmel to say that they delivered the wrong bouquet. The manager said that they had given her a nicer vase than shown, costing $20. Well my mom is 85 years old and does not need another vase. I wanted a big, festive, sparkly arrangement as depicted. Seriously, it had one pine cone and two little balls. I will say that the roses were gorgeous. But the festive fluff was missing. The florist pic is the standard bouquet. I upgraded two steps to the premium.... read more

I have never been a customer and never will be! Was parked outside going to another store in the shopping center and their delivery boy comes out with a box of flowers and starts angrily complaining to me about parking too close to him. I was well in my parking space, he had room to open his door completely and still had roughly a foot between his door and my truck. Not sure if he had a bad day or wanted to get home on a Friday, but I will never do bussines with a company who's employees swear at people who are minding their own business just to get some of their anger out. This florist is extremely unreliable. I ordered for flowers to be delivered on Valentine's Day and they didn't deliver till after 8:00pm. No heads-up call was made about the delay. The most egregious part of the whole sordid affair that they actually billed my credit card twice. I had made the order by phone and had given them my credit card details on the phone. I was standing in Steele Creek Cemetery awaiting the start of my mother's graveside service, and a well-dressed man came forth from the people gathering on the lawn, holding out a beautiful basket of plants and flowers for me, for this occasion. I was touched. How had he even found me? The flowers were ordered by a couple from Washington State, in D.C. for a funeral themselves, and addressed only to me at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church--I do not live in Charlotte. The beautiful arrangement in the basket reflected the sentiment of those who had ordered it. It graced the front of my mother's casket, and simply made me smile. I went in to order the corsage for my son's prom date. They were very helpful, made great suggestions, and made everything easy. On the day of the prom, I found out his date didn't order a boutonniere shortly before it was time to leave. I ran by the shop and they were so accommodating! I placed an online order last night. The owner called me this morning to ask for my credit card information over the phone, because the system didn't capture it. I said that I don't provide that kind of information over the phone in response to someone calling me. It could be a phishing scam. She said that the system wouldn't show her all of my secure information, which in my mind is exactly the way it should be. She said that she could not process the order without me giving her all of my credit card information over the phone. In which case, why use the website at all? That's a busted website. I then proceeded to tell her a million other things that are wrong with website. It's not even worth my time to go into here. The point is that if you are ordering more than one bouquet to go to a single address, the website is obnoxiously tedious. I used the word "sucks." She kept interrupting me and didn't want to hear any criticism of her website. But when I used the word "sucks," she got really angry and said that she refused to process this order or any future orders from me ever. There was no point in continuing the conversation, so I hung up. She called me back and was angry that I had hung up on her. I hung up on her again. In this day and age, ordering flowers should not be this hard or involve this much hostility. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & HORRIBLE PRODUCT!!!!! I ordered flowers from here for someone special to make a special day! Upon delivery they were DEAD and the leaves were wilted! When I reached out to the shop they just made excuses for the dead flowers and no way reacted that she was concerned or wanted to resolve my issue. She just contiuned to say that she would pick them up. The women Elena stated that she made the arrangement herself and they were fresh flowers and they were fine. I explained to her that one I paid extra to have them delivered early before 12 and they didn't get there until 3 PM. After all that she then called the person receiving the flowers at work and wanted to talk to them about the delivery and wanted to know what they looked like. ( after googling their work number) I advised her that I have a picture and I would send it to her. She didn't care to see it. I also explained to her that I was embarrassed and she laughed. This is a true small business owned and operated by East Europeans. I've purchased flowers here about 6 times, and I'll keep coming back as long as their prices are reasonable. Some of the other reviewers for this Florist have said the women here are rude. If you yourself don't act like divas, and are initially friendly to them, they reciprocate. I've been here when it's a busy time like Easter or Valentines Day, and they're super-busy at times like that. It's owned by a Russian native, and I've only seen Russian or Polish women here, and they're often a pretty serious bunch when working, like many Eastern Europeans, but don't mistake that for being unfriendly. No, they won't call out "How're y'all doin'?" when you walk in the door, but the flowers are always super fresh, nicely selected or arranged, and last almost a week. I usually skip the vase and ask for a few more flowers in a long box instead. If you're friendly to them and start a conversation, they'll light up and can be very engaging. It has been approximately three weeks when my family and I purchased flowers for my mother's funeral. We were hopeful we could trust this florist services, especially after meeting the business owner. My aunt, uncle, his wife, my sister and myself purchased flowers on Monday, May 20th for delivery on the following Thursday morning for the funeral. I will speak only on my sister and my experience with Carmel Florist. My sister and I spent $400.00 for a casket spray, which was beautiful and a large standing spray, but to our surprise it was significantly smaller in height, width and fullness of flowers. The banners were not designed as promised, and the flowers did not last past the next day. We are comparing other flowers and large standing sprays from other florist sent to the funeral home. I cannot imagine the work provided for our mother's homegoing was thoughtful, and we feel we were taken advantage of during such a difficult time.
