Extremely disappointing experience. We were significantly overcharged for services/diagnostic procedures that we never knowingly requested or agreed to. When we questioned the charges, we were simply told that the authorization was somewhere in the lengthy paperwork we had signed. In my opinion, burying additional services and charges in paperwork instead of clearly discussing them with a patient beforehand is extremely deceptive and unacceptable. Cautious! This place over charge! They've always been on the pricy side, but when service is good, I was willing to pay. But not anymore, good doctors like Dr Reeder and his assistant Lisa were all gone! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Office staff used to be nice and all changed to a bunch of arrogant, incompetent and rude crew![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The culture of this office completely changed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Here is what I experienced today, my daughter and I were getting new contact lens and glasses, the girl Heidi who was helping me presented me a bill of $997. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I swiped my credit card and paid. Then I asked for a receipt printed, she said she can email me, but given my past experience with them where they never emailed me receipt after I leave their office, I told her I can wait for a printed paper receipt.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] By the way, in the past, they always charge and print you receipt at front desk right away, now they don't want to give you receipt at the time of payment, I am not sure if this is legal, but certainly Intentional! 10mins later, she came back and told me that due to our two insurance coverage, she over charged me and the sum should be $923 instead. So she voided the $997 charge and I swiped my card again for $923. After that, another few minutes later, she brought me printed receipt, showing the sum is $882 instead! I asked her why the receipt shows $882, but she charged me $923? [[HIGHLIGHT]]She then went back and sitting with that office manager (I don't know her name), after 15-20mins, she came back and presented me a receipt of $923.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked her if she can show me the $882 receipt she showed me earlier and I want to see what was the gap? She refused to do so, told me the $882 receipt was gone?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Exercise me? You shredded the receipt while trying to fix it so you can charge me more? She said, it was their mistake and they were charging me based on my last year order. I don't believe that and I insisted that they pull it out from the desk they were at, or computer system to explain to me the difference and what was the mistake. [[HIGHLIGHT]]She went back to behind the office manager and does not come out anymore. I waited 30 mins and she is not coming back and that office manager who was siting there does not want to come explain to me about the three billed amount.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I advised another client of theirs who were picking up glasses at the time to make sure they check their receipts! And that office manager got upset and told me that she can refund me the entire transaction, and I can't get glasses from their office. I said yes please, but since I have seen the doctor and I have 15 years of medical record here, I want to see the doctor and get all my medical records released from them. She told me I have to pay for the doctor visit to get the prescription. I have no problem with that, but I need to see the doctor before I leave. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I waited another hour or so, finally Dr Sanders came and brought me and that office manager to his office.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I explained to him what I had experienced, and she said the $882 bill charged $25 less than the right amount. Come on, $882 plus $25 is $907, right? Not the $923 they charged me. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was not the small difference in money, it was the deceits behind these operations, they completely lost my business and I will never go there anymore.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Please make sure you look at your bills, and they OVER CHARGE! Be careful, good doctors are gone, good staff are gone, this place does not deserve to go back at all. Take your business elsewhere please. Purchased a pair of glasses from this optometry, and it was by far my worst experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I ordered the lenses, the employee who helped me tried to sell me the "anti-reflective" feature, which I declined.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]After I picked up my order, I called to confirm whether the lenses were actually high-index, because they seemed thicker than my older high-index lenses.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I asked how to verify this, the employee was dismissive and unhelpful, and even accused me of not understanding English.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This felt completely unprofessional. I've been coming to this vision office for years and really like my doctor, but the experience with the glasses department has consistently been disappointing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Today was especially frustrating. I brought in two brand new, unused pairs of glasses and clearly mentioned several times that I didn't need to buy new ones. Despite that, the staff member kept pushing me to purchase another pair instead of listening to my concern.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I explained that the previous glasses I got here don't work properly. I can't see clearly through them, that's why I stopped using them, but instead of helping me figure out what went wrong, she dismissed my concern and just tried to adjust the prescription (which wasn't even the issue). The results of my testing were more accurate and he informed me that I had an eye condition that was not mentioned at my other visit. I brought my son for a second opinion and he also had VERY different results from his screening....he can SEE with his contacts now. Those reasons alone are 5 star worthy but he also informed us that my son has a serious vision problem that was overlooked completely. Miracles just keep happening in my life and today's was a doozy! For the past couple of weeks I have been having a lot of difficulty with my up close vision. I wear progressive lenses and just could not find that sweet spot for reading or doing anything up close. Distance vision was fine, but I could only read with extra light and a magnifying glass. It was frustrating and a little scary in light of the fact that I had brain surgery on July 9th. So I called and was able to speak with my doctor, Barbara Bytomski, and we made an appointment for August 14. Fortunately, they had a cancellation and I was able to get on August 6! This is where the miracle happened and this kind of thing just doesn't happen without the power of prayer. Before going to the appointment, I asked my church women's group to pray me through this appointment and that we would find a simple fix. I don't have time for cataract surgery or anything too complicated right now due to all my other treatments. It turns out my near sighted vision has changed dramatically, so there's no surprise that my current prescription is not working for that right now. So I am expecting to have to wait a couple of weeks, maybe longer with COVID, to get the glasses that I knew would change my life. But my incredible doctor and her team pulled it all together to make my glasses as I waited Folks, this just doesn't happen. Every single person I worked with from check in to testing to the beautiful angel who actually made the new glasses are all heros in my book. I love them all! And as I write this post I can see so clearly. Vision is so important and I am forever grateful to Dr. B and her amazing staff. Oh, and the cherry on top is that although Dr. B said the new glasses might not be that great for the computer, THEY ARE! i just had to rearrange my monitors a little. read more

Carmel Mountain Vision Care cost me 5 hours away from work, and I never got the care I needed. I requested computer glasses and made it a point to specify upfront that I wanted "regular" lenses and not "progressives." The optometrist recommended "office" glasses and assured me that they were not progressives, but better than single vision lenses. After trying both the 3' and the 7' "office" lenses, I still didn't have the relief I needed. The "office" lens was basically a new type of alternative progressive lens they were pushing. Over the phone I expressed my frustration and gave them the exact measurement for the distance between my eyes and my computer monitor so they could order regular "single vision" lenses. But then the optometrist insisted I come in person again so she could be certain she got it right for me. Of course she lost the measurement I specified over the phone, so we had to guess. When I finally got my "regular" glasses, the focus was too short. I have to lean forward toward my monitor to use my $350 glasses. I can't decide if I should call them again with the correct measurement or just let it drop and go somewhere else. I don't understand the apathetic trial-and-error process over something as basic as computer glasses. Thank God I didn't need real glasses! read more

My entire family has been going to this office for years. We had been very pleased with their service until this last visit. Front desk staff was very rude on the first visit, I thought maybe it's just a busy day, came back to pick up glasses and same attitude. These ladies are handling appointments and greeting customers, it's not rocket science, it shouldn't be that hard to smile and be polite. The glasses/frames department staff were very helpful and friendly when picking out frames. I was notified that my glasses were ready for pickup and that I could stop by anytime. I went in to pick them up and immediately the front desk lady stopped me, I told her why I was there and she stated I needed an appointment. I looked at 3 employees in the frames department just sitting around chatting, so I told her they said I could just stop by. She proceeded to give me attitude and said go ahead but in the future you need an appointment. Now I understand if you're swamped with customers, but clearly they weren't. Unfortunately, I experienced an issue with my new glasses and have tried to get back in for an adjustment, however, the ladies at the front desk seem to think people need to take an entire day off of work or wait a month for a morning or afternoon appt just for a 5 minute fix. I work in a hospital and can't just leave midday and drive across town for an 1130am appt. Each time I've tried to just stop in, there are always employees just sitting around chatting but the front desk won't let me in. It's a shame, as much as we pay for services and glasses, you would think the customer service would be much better. I'll definitely be taking my family elsewhere in the future. Today is February 11th, 2023. I made an appointment over a month ago to see a specialist and that appointment is only 4 days from now. The appointment was for Feb 14th which is next Tuesday. I've been looking forward to having this appointment and getting new prescriptions. I just received a call by a very nice front desk person telling me that she is very sorry but the doctor is not going to be in the office that day after all and that I have to reschedule. I said ok, sure, when can we reschedule for? She replied March 20th! Today is February 11th. I would have to wait for over another month. I told her that's okay but I would try and find another specialist. This is very disappointing, especially since I believe she said something about this doctor being at another office the day of my original appointment. Been with them for over 20 years and my entire family is with them (kids are seeing them from young to now adult). From Dr. Cook days. In the past 2 years, service are going downhill from 5 stars to 0 stars. Dr visit - waited for an hour before the exam. If they are running behind, front desk should contact their client and not wasting our time. Glasses - on top of insurance, paid over $1.5k for 2 pair of glasses. After 4 weeks, got a voice mail stating that one of the glasses was made wrong and need to send it back to the lab. I called (and of course, voice mail always) and left a voice mail stating that I will pick them both up when ready. No update for another 3 weeks. Called and told me they are ready. Absolutely no following up. They had some very excellent staff in front desk and adjusting glasses such as Heather and Noel, but they can't seem to hold on their good staffs. Front desk is absolutely helpless and rude. Trying to make an appointment for picking up my 6 weeks late glasses, and the front desk lady gave me a time and I said I can't. Then, she did not even want to wait and ask me to call back. Remember, they don't pick up calls nowadays - just go to Voice Mail. What service is that? Their Dr. are still good, but I will not get glasses from there. I don't mind paying extra for getting glasses there if I am getting decent services. Is a disaster w/ their staff. read more

Hi-Tech, Professional & Courteous Service Before you read this review, allow me to make it clear that I'm Anti-Optite & Anti-Dentite. I have very low respect for Optometrists & Dentists. I believe they're a bunch of High Sea Pirates, Train Robbers & Cash Register Bandits! Having said that, I have respect for Dr. Kevin Reeder the Optometrist & his business CMVC. When you find a good optometrist, stick with it because they're so hard to find! After all, you have only one pair of eyes! My optometrist, a fine lady sold her business, so I ended up here. When I first came here, as a cynic, I prepared myself for the worst & got ready to have a fight, cuss the hell out of them & ransack the place, simply because I can't stand optometrists! To my surprise, the day took a different turn! As I stepped in, I stated good morning & Kristine the Receptionist greeted me. It was raining & my sunglasses were wet, so I picked a tissue to dry them, it was their last one. I told her, you need tissues. Then I corrected myself by stating, I don't mean you need tissues (like you have a booger hanging from your nose), but I mean your business needs some! She smiled & said, I understood that. I was testing her & in a bit she replaced the tissue box. Lisa the Technician took me for the tour of their hi-tech machines & examined me thoroughly. She was very detail oriented. I waited not long before I saw Dr. Reeder. He was friendly & courteous. He had done a thorough exam. As a journalist, I can speak with a person for 5 minutes & see where's he coming from. I found this guy caring & knowledgeable. I wear glasses & contacts for distance, wear nothing for reading books & wear progressive for computers. I needed a prescription & a progressive pair specifically for computers. He recommended Office Lenses which are the most expensive of the 3 types. He explained how this type fits best for my purpose. He took his time, went over everything & then walked me to Noelle the Optician. Noelle gives you a Christmassy Jolly Feeling! She is very observant & goes through choosing the right frame, lenses & perfect fit for you. Suddenly I saw this lady who was very friendly. I had my glasses off, so I couldn't see her well. She sounded like she knew me, so I put on my glasses & there she was, Faith my old optician who now works here! She also gives you a Jolly feeling! So, we hugged & had a chat. It was so good to see her here! They said it would take 2 weeks for the glasses to get ready but it was ready in 5 days! I like punctual people but I love ahead of schedule people! Once I put on the glasses, I noticed that Dr. Reeder was correct. This office lens was worth the $. The interesting point is that with reading lenses, you need to get close to the monitor to read; with general progressive, you need to lift your neck high to read best, but with these office lenses you just look straight at the monitor & you see best. They are very clear & sharp. I was sold on this place. Now I have read some bad reviews about this place & I must respond. So, I will write the critics & then my rebuttals: - They are rude. * Critics must be talking about old employees who got fired or not working here anymore because everyone I met was super nice. - This is a small place. * Critics must be speaking of the old place, long time ago. This place is a very large place with many rooms & a large showroom. They have 4 doctors, 4 opticians & a number of technicians & receptionists. - They don't care about the patients. * Critics must be delusional because these people went out of their way to serve me. - They are money grubbing. * Let me clarify something to y'all (now that's southern). This is a business & they must make money or else they run out of business. They give you the best service. It is up to you to review your vision insurance site to see what's covered & how much are your co-pays. It is up to you to decide what product to pick. Of course, they want to sell you the top of the line but you are the one who should do your homework & decide if you want the high end, mid-range or no copay product. They have them all. This place passed my Obsessive-Compulsive Perfectionist Test & taste. I'm a fashionable eyeglasses collector. I purchase from around the net & showrooms.
