Dr. Wu and staff run a great office! I appreciated all the time an attention I received for my appointment. To be seen as the patient and not just a customer felt great. In some offices, I am rushed through the visit only to get me to the table to purchase something, so it was refreshing to have Dr take what seemed like a great amount of time with me to explain my eye health and possible potential issues to look out for. Being in my 50s, I really wanted to understand the health of my eyes and changes that need to be addressed. In terms of actual frames, I was pleased with the selection at hand. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable about the styles and brands and clearly understood what fit my budget. I let them know what I liked and didn't like and they gave me honest advice on how the frames fit and if it was within my set price range. Dr. Wu and his team is understands what it means to put patients first! I was referred to an ophthalmologist and Dr. Wu reached out to me after hours and followed up with the ophthalmologist to ensure I was OK. I know I'm in good hands with him and his team. I have been going here for many years and Dr. Wu is very generous with his time during our appointments. I often ask many questions and he is always patient with me, helping me understand the answer. When I got a small splinter of metal embedded into my eye he was able to see me immediately and remove the foreign body. The discomfort was unbearable and I am deeply appreciative that they worked me in so fast. I came into Dr. Wu's office for a comprehensive eye exam. As a scientifically inclined person I appreciated his thorough explanations of the procedures we were doing; my previous eye doctors didn't care enough to explain. In addition, he offered to scan my eyes to lessen my worries about having glaucoma at an early age, and I really appreciated that he sent me my eye scans promptly via email. Great customer service! They go above beyond and then some! Instead of leaving me to pay in full, they did the calling to my insurance to check the best rates. Easy, fast communication through email was appreciated so that something that could have taken 4 or 5 back and forth phone calls, was completely seamless and not even an interruption into my day. My kids and I've come here for years , mainly because it's location . In the past I detected they are very opinionated and have some kind of bias which don't need to be happen in my visit but we come here once a year , so we just let it pass . But today, I went in for contact lenses fitting , Dr. Wu was in some kind of bad mood , everything come out his mouths is very negative ,unprofessional and rude . While I'm discuss about switch to different kind of lenses cos Im having problems with local brand , he said " you are not young anymore " for 3 time with awful tone ,then say I know you don't like what I say ..., and talk with bossy tone to me "its your eyes have problems not the lenses, you know that ,right ? I asked if I can try monthly or weekly lenses , he said " your eyes are so spoiled by daily lenses , those monthly would not work for you , you are just wasting time . When people talk to you like that , it revealed their true personality . Maybe everything he said is right ( I doubt) , but do we deserve to be talk like that ? We've been there several times mostly because this place is very close. Last couple of times we've been there, I felt like the place was tacking on extra fees/charges just because I had good insurance and they could charge them. They give personal attention to the fit of your glasses and have this fancy machine that heats up your frames enough to safely bend to the correct shape for each of their valued customer. I really like going to this office. Dr. Wu is excellent and takes the time to answer any questions or concerns you may have. He is always very pleasant and professional. I do feel that he has my best interest at heart whenever I'm in the office with him. Judy and Sheena are great! I have never had any issues with how they handled my appointments and billings. This office is ok. They take a very long time for you to be seen by the dr, which I always am prepared for anyway, but still is annoying. The salesperson who sells the glasses is extremely pushy. I made my decision to not buy glasses from them a year ago because of that, but I liked the Dr. I had my appointment in October to get my prescription refilled. They gave me 2 free boxes of contacts because they were delayed in getting my contacts to me so that was nice. I don't wear my contacts all the time so they actually lasted me a while. I started using the box of contacts I originally ordered and clearly there is something wrong with them. I'm really good when it comes to the correct use of contact wearing, I don't sleep in them and I don't put makeup super close to my eyelashes because I know that can cause infections. When I called to talk to them about this, saying that I have to clean my contacts constantly because a dirt film keeps getting on them and I can't see. First off, gross and secondly I understand they didn't make the contacts, but they are selling them so they should have some knowledge of prior issues. Or at least they should listen to you.... The first girl didn't hear anything I said and so I had to keep correcting her. She put me on hold and the girl who sells the glasses answered and was trying to set me up with an appointment because my contact is not the right prescription....I never said that. I had to yet again explain it and she mentioned it could be my makeup but I should see the Dr. Again, not listening. I just told them I was done and going someplace else. Treating your clients like they don't know what they're talking about when you aren't even listening to what they have to say is not a good way to go about it. Thanks anyway read more

Great place to get your eye exam and eyeglasses. The optometrist, Johnny T. Wu is nice, friendly and thorough. Our family loves him. They have a good selection of frames for an independent store owned by an OD. Their staff is professional and courteous, and has a good sense of fashion and style; they make good recommendations. If you found a frame you liked, they even order that for you. If you have VSP, F Y Eyes is great. If you don't have vision insurance, go to Lenscrafters during their promitions which happen 3-4 times a year. read more

This review is for the carmel mountain loction. Dr. Wu is amazing but his staff is very pushy and rude. My family and I have gone there for years. We didn't make it for our eye exams last year due to Covid. I called this year to make an appointment for our annual exam and Judy was very pushy. I only wanted to have an eye exam for my daughter who broke her glasses. She goes on to tell me how my whole family has to be scheduled for Dr Wu won't continue to see us. She decides to elaborate and mention that he has cut off and cut ties with many patients due to covet so we are lucky that he would still consider taking us but we all have to come at the same time. We all cannot go at the same time and when I told her that it's like she wanted an explanation. She then went on to mention my son who is 17. She said he can drive himself and I said he doesn't drive. She responds with saying yeah I'm not surprised teenagers these days are lazy and just like to Uber everywhere. She told me that Dr Wu didn't hire a person who applied for a job because the person uses Uber and he feels people who Uber are lazy. So after years of dealing with their pushiness and smart remarks I decided that I had had enough and just like Dr Wu can decide who he doesn't does not see we can also go to another optometry place. So we took our business elsewhere and we will not be going back there. read more
