This was hands down one of the best Italian food I've had so far. Pizza was delicious and the fettuccine chicken Alfredo was probably the best I've ever had. Service was great, our server was very sweet and the food came out in a very timely manner as well. The other 3 I was with also enjoyed their food very much. The place may seem a bit divey from outside and out of style but aren't the best restaurants usually that way. From the name you'd think it was a Spanish restaurant but nope it's some of the best Italian food you can ever have. Would recommend to everyone to try at least once. If I wasn't only visiting from out of state I'd definitely be eating here very often. read more

First time at Carmela's. I ordered the veal parmigiana. It was very good. Generous portion cooked perfectly. I usually try to avoid the pasta fraction. However this time I ate it all. The pasta tasted home made and was perfectly cooked. The pasta portion was not oversized but just right. The restraunt lighting (fluorescent) and atmosphere is a bit austere however the quality and value of my meal and friendly service out weighed this deficiency. read more

We are visiting from out of town, and just had one of the best meals ever. We met Carmela who was busy in the kitchen cooking our meals. The service could not have been better from our waitress Reese. We heard jokes from Carmela's son Stefano, while he made garlic bread. And her husband, Charlie was singing Italian songs while making pizzas. A true GEM. We can't wait to bring our family back here. My husband had veal picatta. The owner of this place is a real ass hat no manners whatsoever. We had placed an order over the phone we get there. The place is empty other than two other customers in there we asked him if we could sit there and eat our food and with this horse face and a tone unbecoming to customer service he said NO. I THOUGHT HE WAS KIDDING SO I WAS LIKE REALLY, AND HE SAID NO you can't eat it hear I can understand if the place was packed, but there were only two other customers in there used to visit this place quite often we own a house in Vienna. Was in Cambridge a few weeks ago and saw this place on Yelp when trying to find somewhere to eat. The group I was with decided to give it a try and everything was fantastic. Came back again this evening and everything was just as good as the first time The food was excellent as was the service. I ordered Fettuccini Alfredo with Tortellini noodles and chicken and the sauce was incredible. It might be the BEST Alfredo sauce I've ever had. Also tried out the lemon-cello this evening and it was great. The frosting was perfect as was the cake itself. Disappointing experience for rave reviews online. Very overpriced food that didn't even get eaten. This was also attributed to the portion size being chosen by the person taking the order. We had a sub that made us sick overnight. Worst of all was the customer service of an older woman who may be the owner? Very rude and argumentative with all she interacted with. Well we ordered cold Italian subs. Not homemade rolls and some pressed ham was the most prevalent cold cut on the sandwich. Worse then Wawa Italian subs. What's the deal. All the posts on Facebook mention homemade bread and decent cold cuts. Mentions sharp provolone. Prosciutto, capicollo, salami home made roll on the Italian. Anyway very disappointed and not inexpensive either for such inexpensive ingredients. I am sorry no pics. We were very disappointed in this sandwich. This is my new favorite restaurant in Cambridge Maryland. We had a great time here. Everyone at this family owned restaurant was so nice. We look forward to our next visit. I had lasagna and my husband had the Italian wrap. Other entrees enjoyed by our table were the Alfredo and shrimp pasta and chicken cheesesteak. We had an apple cobbler for dessert brought in from a local bakery. Our waitress was Reese and she was so wonderful. The owner and his wife welcomed us and really appreciated us as customers. This restaurant is a must do when visiting Cambridge. We came on a Saturday night before the dinner rush (we have a 3 year old) and I'm glad we did. The place filled up with regulars (which is a great sign). The waitress was amazing with my son (and us) and was very accommodating when he spilled his water. The food: wow! So good! Made to order and delicious. My husband rarely leaves food on his plate but the servings were HUGE and he really wanted to finish. I had veggie pizza and my husband had calzone. The chef was so gracious with letting my son watch him cook. He even gave him a sample of what he was preparing. My son went to say thank you to the chef and he took a few seconds to talk to my Son and wish him a good night even though he was dealing with Saturday night dinner rush. On a whim, we popped in here last night for dinner. The restaurant is small and homie and definitely not fancy but the food is excellent in the service was too. We got a pizza, which was really good. Had a chance to meet Carmela and she is an amazing person. We were a group of 7 and it was middle of the day weekday late lunch, Carmela served us some of her best meals. Everyone was satisfied, the sandwiches were amazing. She toasted them to perfection. Pasta, salad, everything was great. My son had his first real cannoli, I must say the filling was the freshest I had. We will definitely be back here, we were hunting for a nice seafood place but some were either rated poorly or just simply wasn't open for some reason. So glad we picked Carmela's place. read more

Excellent, excellent food, big portions, awesome service! I ordered the fruta del mare and fiance ordered the linguine with red clam sauce. Both were perfectly cooked and loaded with seafood and light red sauce. We were both stuffed about 1/2 way through our food but kept eating because it was so good!
