I set up an appointment to get a quote for a single garage door and a double . I took off work to meet Paul ( manager) at my home. He took measurements and showed me different options . He informed me that he would get back to me with a quote via email that night or the next day . That was 11 days ago!!! I called Tina in the office 5 days after the onsite visit to ask why I hadn't heard. She put me on hold and then came back to tell me that it "takes time to get the numbers from the company and they would call me as soon as they hear." I called them yesterday ( another 5 days) after not hearing back and when I told Tina I still hadn't heard, she asked me in an annoyed tone, "I don't know what you want me to do??!" No apology ; nothing. I asked to be connected to the manager,Paul, who has been with the company over 40 years and I got his voicemail . I left my concerns and dissatisfaction in the message along with my phone number and still no response! I see in other reviews that others have had the same problem! They obviously don't need the business ! Unless you have all the time in the world, don't mind taking off work for nothing and don't care about poor customer service, I wouldn't waste your time giving them a call! read more

I've been using Carmichael Garage Door for over 13 years now. They have handled my original install and maintenance for over the past decade. I had a spring break this afternoon and knew who to call. I spoke with Brenda at the office and she said she could have a Tech on site within the next three hours. Brenda called me back 10 minutes later and said her Tech had finished early with another repair and asked if it would be okay to send him early. Our long time Tech Ben Beers arrived 15 minutes later and I immediately recognized him from our last repair six years ago. Ben went straight to work, inspecting the door and also finding a broken door hinge and worn bearings on both sides of the door. Ben discussed repair options with me and also explained how he was going to rectify not only the broken spring but the other issues discovered on the safety inspection. Carmichael Garage Door sent technician Alex Serpico to my house for a service call. Alex is exactly the kind of technician that we always hope for. He was friendly, courteous and professional. Alex investigated my problem and did a 14 point safety inspection of my garage door and opener. He then presented me with a detailed explanation of the fix that included replacing some hardware with an estimate of $89, their service call fee. After replacing the hardware, he reprogrammed my close and open gaps, and all 3 remotes. I also learned from Alex that the newer garage door openers have backup batteries that will open the garage door a few times during a commercial power failure. Never knew that! One of the springs on our garage door broke, and we called Ben Beers for the repair. He did an excellent job! Not only did he fix the issue, but he also recommended the rollers to be replaced since they were cheap plastic and replaced them with heavy duty rollers. I called today and he arrived within 2 hours and had all the parts on hand to fix it same day. His prices are reasonable. I love how he gave prices for immediate fix and rebuilding the mechanics for long term function (at which I'll call him at another time to replace other parts). Because of unusual building construction obstacles, Ben went way beyond the norm in his efforts to provide us with a door opener while other installers just shook their heads and walked away. At initial consult Ben had me remove some storage above the door and then returned the same day to assess the project and gave the green light! Then, after consulting the manufacturer, proceeded to modify the opener to fit our circumstance. We replaced our garage door opener in early July. Today our garage door wouldn't close. I called Carmichael Garage Door and they had someone out this afternoon. Ben, the manager, was the person who came; he quickly identified the problem and fixed it. Ben also did a full inspection (which they seem to always do) to be certain there are no other issues. Best, it was "no charge" because it was related to our earlier work. I will add that all of the employees have been customer focused and appear to enjoy their jobs. Ben is a life saver. My son broke the door by trying to close it with a big board in the way. Thought they would need to replace one of the tracks and possibly a panel and/or bearings. Ben came out today as planned and placed bee tracks and other parts for our main garage door. He did a great job by himself and was able to get the garage door working in just a few hours.
