There, we were given a bag which contained a water bottle, some booties, and a booklet which included a map, background on each house, and featured sponsers. There were seven homes available for viewing and one church. I ended up driving to each home, though walking is an option if you're up for a good walk in between some locations. I drove because it was rainy and plus I wasn't sure about how far apart each house would be. Street parking was not an issue at all. There was plenty of space available, although this may have been because of the rain. In each home was set up a local restaurant, which offered samples to tourist. This was a very nice touch. A few that I remember include Noche, Timone's, Moore Farms, and La Tavola. Though I don't remember which restaurants served what, I can tell you that I enjoyed lobster bisque, tomato soup, quesadilla (Noche), skewered beef (Noche), a most delicious banana pudding and assorted pastries, bacon wrapped dates (Noche), mozzarella cheese and tomatoes in a basil sauce, fresh apples and cheese (Moore Farms), and salami and cheese. Everything was quite good. Some restaurants had coupons that could be used for a future visit. You had to put on the provided booties or take your shoes off to enter each home. Some people were walking around bare footed (and might I add, EEEwwwww) but most had on the booties or some socks. The homes were beautiful and totally inspiring. I loved every minute of observing the decor and learning the backgrounds of the homes. Also, some of the home owners were present as strangers went all around their homes. Understandably, there were some areas that were not a part of the tour and these areas were clearly marked. At each home, volunteers were available to help tourist and ensure that everyone was respectful of each home. They also were able to answer any questions that one may have had about the home. At each home, the greeter would sign your book to acknowledge that you had been to that home. I don't think they allow but one visit per home. Tickets for this event were $25 in advance and $30 at the door. All in all, I really enjoyed this event and I thought it was well organized. Homes were clearly marked, the maps were accurate and provided addresses, and everyone working the event was pleasant and helpful. 5 stars all day long.

In 2013, there were 9 stops- 8 homes and Briarcliff Summit (for the first time ever on the tour). Ticket pick-up, parking, and volunteer sign-in was at the YWCA. A nice central location for the event. You get a nice tote with a few items- including bottled water, which can come in handy. How it works: You have the choice of taking the tour on a Saturday or Sunday. Walk or drive around to the different locations on the map. When you enter the home, a volunteer will cross off on the map that you have entered the home. You can only enter once. Other volunteers will be available to direct you and potentially tell you facts about the home and answer questions. In each of the 8 homes, neighborhood restaurants set up shop to serve mini servings of their dishes. Note that you will need to wear booties or go barefoot in the homes in order to protect the owners' flooring. Pros: I appreciated the food since I had been volunteering during an early shift. The food from the restaurants was great for the most part and some offered coupons so that you could try them out in full at a discount. A nice variety of homes and few were very special. I appreciate the homeowners opening their homes to us. The crowds were all in good spirits even though it was a rainy and chilly day. Cons: The first house I went to was out of food just as we arrived. And there were HOURS left of the tour. So that was disappointing. All the other restaurants had food left as we went around though. Not enough time on Sunday for the entire tour if you are volunteering. I wish it had been open one hour later. Take home: I plan to go again next year.

I did find the even to be somewhat disorganized though. Tents surrounded the crowd area, but it seemed to be more centralized on one side than another. They didn't have quite enough restrooms as there were lines everywhere I looked. They probably could have had more food options. There was the general fair food, as well as some other local places- Fox Brothers, for one. I also ran into King Of Pops. But I would have appreciated some other good food and reasonable prices. I thought there was going to be more going on than just the bands, but it looked like that was it. There wasn't as much artwork and other vendors as I thought there would be. If I'm not doing anything when this happens next year, I'll probably go, but I won't make it a must-attend.

It was unbearably hot, especially in the open field in front of the Main Stage. What would have helped here is some of the mobile misting units that are used in most other summer music festivals in the metro. A little more planning would make this a very good event, because the core pieces(free entrance, easily accessibility, great music, family friendly environment, good food and drink) are there. Mind you most of them are sorely lacking in quantity but they are there non the less. Hopefully next year, we will find this to be a better planned event.

In other words, you don't know what you're seeing until it starts playing! I found this to be really exciting. The staff behind the concession stand were all kind and friendly, and the entire theater felt clean and comfy. I worried about our seats because we were only 3 rows from the front, and I get migraines if I'm too close, typically opting for the very back row... but since the chairs reclined, I was actually okay! My chicken tenders were hot and crispy and really hit the spot, along with the fries. I loved the mango habanero dipping sauce I chose as well. Our movie ended up being "Hunting Matthew Nichols," a documentary-style mystery-horror, modern day homage to The Blair Witch Project. It's a slow burn, but an enjoyable one. We had a great time and look forward to attending more of these!

I usually do VIP admission which allows attendees to enter 45 mins earlier than the General admission crowd and gives you some additional perks like special whiskey tastings that are exclusive to VIP guests. When I first started going the number of vendors and the food station options were incredible, like carving stations with brisket and tomahawk steak incredible! Over time the number of vendors and food options have definitely dwindled. On my most recent experience, I was very disappointed in the limited food options and how quickly they ran out. I will say that this year the perk of being able to have your tasting glass engraved was a nice touch, but overall, VIP is no longer worth the price if they don't step back up the food options IMO.

With (free) entry, you get tickets for free popsicles and some field day game play. I look forward to the King of Pops Field Day all year long. It's my favorite festival by a mile. Sure, it has a slight advantage what with giving away the best popsicles in the world for free..but it's more than that - it's fun for kids and adults! Besides the field day games - which I find endlessly entertaining, there's live music and a photo booth - another one of my favorites. Not to mention food trucks (Yumbii!!) I also love that they still hold it in the fall, so the weather is comfortable (though it did get quite warm this weekend). Can't wait until next year.

The instructions were clear, the scents were so fun to explore, and it felt like a creative, sensory adventure. Some of the candle label stickers were unavailable, which was a little disappointing, but probably beyond the business's control. This small business is absolutely worth supporting. You can feel how much love, creativity, and heart fills the space. As a nurse, I especially appreciated the painting on the wall honoring healthcare workers -- such a thoughtful touch. Best part? My mom actually wants to come back. And that means everything.
