The eggplant parm is ridiculously greasy, the prosciutto, mozzarella, and red pepper wrap is really subpar (very little of each ingredient and not high quality tasty items either. The service is ok, when they get the order right. They are notorious for mixing up or missing DoorDash orders. The crew behind the counter are disgruntled, loud, and chaotic. This is one busy place! It was packed when I went. The staff are friendly even while keeping up with the amount of customers. Food was good! It could use more depth of flavor but I liked it, and it reheats well lol there is a restaurant area in addition to take out, which is small but kinda loud. This place has been in business a long time and is still running strong so you know they must be doing something right over here and that's a fact, this old school style shop makes some really Tasty Pizza. And that shouldn't surprise anybody because the Roucco Family have been at it since 1968 so they definitely know a thing or two about making Great Pizza and everything that goes into it.          My first hand experience with their Sausage Pizza has always been a deliciously flavorful one and I especially like the way that they slice these huge pieces of Sausage longways. I have heard that this pizzeria was one to go to. I went and it was honestly bland. It wasn't awful, but not anything to write home about. That being said, the cook looked tired. Always on the lookout for good pizzerias, I saw lots of recommendations for Carmine's in Netcong. Tonight, my wife and I were in the area and we had a chance to stop in for dinner. Carmine's didn't disappoint! My wife had the Caprese salad and I got 2 slices, one plain and one Sicilian. The pizza was excellent! Really nice crust and well made. Salad was ok, but I think it will be much better in a few months once those great Jersey tomatoes are in season. The big surprise were the garlic knots. They were almost bite size and tasted delicious! This place has been around since 1968! I can't believe I haven't been here before. Stop in if you're looking for a great NJ pizza! read more

Went for dinner the other night. Overall had a great experience and enjoyed the food. My only complaint is the vodka sauce and Alfredo sauce is more on the watery side than I would like. However, still taste good! Always better the next day as well! Pizza is excellent! read more

We were in town for a wedding and found this place. What a great find!! The pizza was great! There was a perfect balance of sauce and cheese and a very tasty light crust. Went here for a quick lunch as we were driving through this part of NJ. We were debating grabbing take-out Chinese next door when a friendly stranger said to go get 'the best pizza in town' at Carmines. Place was empty except for a table or two but it was a Friday afternoon so not abnormal. We were seated quickly and the wait staff was friendly. A Caesar salad to start (good, well dressed) and a large pepperoni pizza to share between 3 people. Oh my good.. talk about an overwhelming selection of wonderful food... I was completely blown away! We're from Texas so we definitely don't get our choice of authentic Italian food and man was it worth the wait! The pizza was fabulous. Not so much NYC pizza (didnt have the grease and the size to fold it) but more so high quality. The crust was amazing and everyone commented on how great the mozzarella was! I got the broccoli robe with Gf noodles(I don't eat egg) and it was great! I had never tried it before and it was different than I expected, the sauce runny and oily yet garlicy and perfect with the noodles. The bread was great to dip in it and the soup I had as an appetizer was great. The owners daughter was our server and she did a great job too! The only hiccup was forgetting some pasta and when we asked for extra of something it was occasionally forgotten. HOWEVER I went in with a large party, so I understand it can be overwhelming or simply busy, especially because she was the only server. There was also a lady that threw up on the way to the bathroom (NOT FROM THE FOOD) but the staff was so kind and had it cleaned up in no time! Driving along the I-80, we found this place on Yelp. It's in a very small town (or rather, a strip of stores). The establishment looks old and dingy from the outside, but as soon as you walk in, you'll see 8-10 workers behind the counter all busy doing something. The ambiance is typical of a pizzeria, there's a few tables to the right or the more formal dining room serving salads, pastas, veal, seafood, chicken, hot & cold subs, and more. We opted to sit in the front and order a pie and garlic knots. We ordered a Salerno (Large - $16.95) which includes chicken, roasted peppers, fresh tomato sauce, mozzarella, garlic and pesto seasoning. The pizza was made fresh and I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the pizza was for the middle of nowhere. The chicken was tender and tasty, and other ingredients were very fresh. It made for one kick-ass pizza on a thin crust. Ingredients were standard fare with my only gripe was that they didn't get the melted mozzarella and other ingredients near the outer edge of the pizza. We also got an order of the Garlic Knots (8 for $1.00, w/ Sauce $1.50). These garlic knots are smaller versions that one is accustomed to getting at a pizzeria. But I found them to be better than their larger counterpart, partly because they were less doughy inside, with more surface area to inside ratio, providing more garlic and buttery goodness. Yum!! My friend also ordered a plain slice ($1.75) which had an equal proportion of tomato sauce and mozzarella. The crust was just as good, however we found it to be ever so slightly salty. They could have put less salt so that the sweet/tartness from the tomato sauce could have been more pronounced. Otherwise, a good slice that we'd return for. All of us enjoyed Carmine's and would definitely recommend if looking for a local joint to eat in the area. Again, delicious for the area that it is in and what we were expecting. But best on the East Coast is pushing it, especially with the likes of Grimaldi's and Umberto's in New York, but I'd like to say that Carmine's makes one satisfying pizza. read more

Damn this place is on point. 3rd time here in about 4 weeks, and always fantastic. First visit was a baby step by ordering one sausage slice. Loaded with thinly sliced pieces of beautiful heaven. Like 12 pieces on uno slice. Thanks heavy hand guy! Next time I ordered the supreme pizza with everything on it basically. Sure it was $30 but who cares. It rocked. The crust is fantastic, the flavors are glorious. Today I got a couple of slices and was told to try the sausage roll. Glad I did. Boom, what a ride. How do you review a place that you have been going to for the last 40 years and mostly eating only two items off the entire menu for all that time? I always order at the counter and either eat it right there or take it home. Don't expect Sal or Joe the two sons of Carmine who run the place to jump up and down because you decided to eat at their place and spend your money there, they have been working there for more then 40 years and so its just work and a lifestyle they settled for, so don't expect smiles. Carmine's has the best Sicilian Pizza I have ever eaten in my life for $12.75. I usually order a whole pie which has 12 slices and request Tony the Pizza man to add extra sauce to the pie and also sprinkle Oregano on the top of the pie. Also its a MUST that the pie be cooked twice. Once in the deep dish pan until its ready and then removed from the pan and placed on the stones of the oven to get the crust crispy. The other item that is the best I have ever eaten in my life is the Calzone that has Mozzarella and Riccotta Cheese inside it and you get a side of Marinara sauce with it for $7. Tony has to make a fresh one for me every time and I either ask him to add either Mushrooms, Ham or Meatballs inside the Calzone. Btw it's BYOB. read more

They gave us more that we needed and made our affair a night to remember. Joe was very easy to work with and accommodating to our needs. This was my first time here, but it won't be my last. They are celebrating their 50th year this year and it's really a friendly, family-owned atmosphere. I went with someone who used to be a regular there, and the waitress remembered his usual order after 4 years of not seeing him! I got the Salad Caprese and it was the most delicious thing I've had in awhile. The interior is nicely decorated and clean. Like I said, I'll definitely be back. read more

Carmine's serves the best pizza in the area. There are other pizza joints in the immediate area but I've found that Carmine's is the best. They may not deliver but it's definitely worth the effort to get it yourself. I personally like mushrooms on my pizza and am happy to report that they use fresh mushrooms, which absolutely elevates the pizza above others in the area. The staff is friendly and professional. They have a TV in the waiting area and never air anything annoying like cable news or reality TV. read more
