I decided to give this place another shot following my bad experience before. We ordered the grandma pie thin crust, mozzarella sticks, and regular pie thin crust with pepperoni. Like last time, the grandma pie was DRY. The crust was like biting into a rock, the sauce was there in spirit. The mozzarella sticks and regular pie were just ok. Nothing special. At least I gave it another shot but now I know that some of their other items are ok. read more

When you are from NJ, you can quickly get bored of Italian takeout joints. However, even though Joe and Anthony's has the same menu I've seen from every other place, they do it exceptionally well. We ordered the Joe and Anthony Salad, the Drunken Chicken, a Stromboli, and a cannolo. The salad was excellent. They didn't skimp on the salad's chicken and veggies. The salad's chicken was tender and seasoned very well. The drunken chicken was slightly bland but the cutlet was fried perfectly and there was plenty of sauce. The Stromboli was loaded with meat and veggies. We ordered a small but it was HUGE! The cannolo was also awesome. It was still crispy, so you can stuff them on demand. I will definitely return for the salad and cannoli. The inside of the restaurant is no-frills but that's what I would want for the authentic NJ Italian feel. Always welcomed when you walk in. Food is served hot and fast. Tried the Philadelphia cheese steak pizza for something different. Boy did not disappoint. Was just as good as a sandwich with less bread. Also got the plain cheese pizza again really good. Had the garlic bread not bad, would like a bit more garlic, I did have an end piece so maybe it was just that the end had less. They are definitely my favorite pizza place in the area. read more

Visiting the area for two weeks. Joe & Anthony's is close to our hotel.. Several days ago we Ordered pizzas, salad and calamari.Pizzas and salad with chicken were very good. But the calamari were so over cooked and dark brown and inedible. Today we ordered pizza, Manicotti dinner and chicken wings. Pizza was again, very good, manicotti was nothing to rave about and had such a thick tough layer of mozzarella on top, sometimes less is more. The wings... Dark brown, over cooked and tough. The order was ready to pick up in 15 minutes so I'm assuming they pre fry calamari and wings ahead of time and then re fry to heat to get the orders out quickly. Won't order there again. read more

First time here. Came in with my family, we sat down to have a quick bite after going to Lowe's which is right near by. The ambiance is casual (very typical) takeout pizza spot, but they did have a few tables/chairs and a few stools by the window. We ordered a grandma Margherita pie and it was great. So I came to this place originally for the Pizza because I saw review and it was amazing while I was there. I saw a guy get a meatball sub and the bread looked amazing so I had to try it today . Always on the lookout for new pizzerias to try, my wife and I were in the area, so we stopped in at Joe and Anthony's last night. The pizzeria is located next to Walmart at the Trade Zone shopping area in Mt. Olive. It's a small place with only a few tables up front, but what a great find! The pizza was delicious! We each ordered a slice of the chicken bacon ranch and split a few garlic knots. The slice was huge with ingredients piled high. The garlic knots were excellent as well. Very friendly staff, reasonable prices, easy parking. A nice pizza parlor! read more

Just stopped for a pizza. Got a fresh pizza with mushrooms and it was delicious! The inside is small, not many tables (like only 1 table for 4, all others small). They do a good take out biz and it was only 5pm. My favorite part though? 3 men were working in behind the counter, no one on their phones, actually working (making boxes, replenishing pizza toppings, etc). Found Joe and Anthony's while searching for local pizza places to support. The pizza was sooo good (sauce was the highlight). Tried the eggplant Parmesan and was incredibly savory and more than enough for one meal. Wings were a little on the dry side but decent. We were so impressed with the food that we decided to cater them for our daughter's @home Prom that we threw her last Sat. I spoke with Anthony personally several different times for advice on which dishes would be good, the amounts, pick up day/time, even briefly cancelled the order due to forecasted rain. Fortunately the weather changed and Anthony accommodated us virtually last minute. He was always patient, friendly and so helpful. It was such a pleasure to talk with him!! Food Catered: 1/2 tray penne vodka 1/2 tray chicken francese Full tray of garlic knots 1/2 tray salad PERFECTION. We are going back to try other items on their extensive menu! Joe & Anthony's makes some of the tastiest Pizza around and believe Me when I tell You, they don't skimp on the Toppings either. This place has been open for about a Year now and they've gone unnoticed for far too long. Located Right next door to Walmart they share the same wind swept Mountain and most folks usually just head straight into the store in order to avoid that horrendous cross wind. Which brings Me back to My point of that's why this Excellent Pizzeria unfortunately gets overlooked. While not the biggest place that You'll ever find Yourself in, what they lack in size they more than make up for in quality and quantity of ingredients. As I was taking pictures, the Friendly Chef was preparing a Shrimp Scampi Pizza, He offered to show Me the sizzling pan of fresh Shrimp that gets piled onto a typical Pie. Since that wasn't going to be ready for 15 minutes, I went with a Sausage & Pepperoni slice plus I also wanted to try Their Buffalo Chicken Slice. I found them both to be Stellar Slices of Unique Pizza. And again in both cases the Toppings were unequaled to most of the local competitors. Huge Chunks of Flavorful Sausage had me asking right away, "Where do you get Your Meat from?" So the Chef tells Me He gets all his Meats locally from an Italian Market where the Gentleman not only makes his own Sausage, but He can tell You the name of the Pig that it came from as well. This place was awesome!!! One of the first things I noticed when I walked in was how clean the establishment was and it was rush-hour. I ordered what they call an upside down Brooklyn pie. I got mine with meatball. The meatballs were sliced whole not crumbled. Very tasty. One of the best pies I have ever had. Also ordered a meatball calzone which was fantastic. The food is amazing! Thank goodness because the delivery was not. I am not sure who delivered the food, but it was sloppy. No one sent me a message to let me know it arrived, so when I realized it was 10 minutes past delivery, I went to my door to check and everything was cold. Despite the eggplant rollatini being a sloppy mess, since it was carelessly left at the door, and the sauce was seeping through the brown bag; it was divine. Great taste. What sets Joe and Anthony's Pizza apart from others is not just the fact that the owners are straight from the birthplace of pizza, Naples, Italy; but more importantly, it's the quality and freshness of the ingredients.
