The pizza was very good. My only issue here is that I found it on the expensive side. $6.29 for a specialty slice and bottle of soda is higher than the norm. It's your average strip mall bland pizza and simple lettuce salad. I was just passing through, needed lunch. Don't do it, it's really not worth it, just go to Panera or anywhere. It's not clean in there, the floors are dirty, the window is greasy, and the condiments are in filthy dirty shakers. Like the dollar store is around the corner, get new shakers, this is gross. I didn't want to leave a neg review without discussing with Paulie first, I am a longtime customer. Before I could get to that bland discussion he made a few angry faces while I was placing my latest order. Confused, I asked him "What's wrong?" He tells me "your making your order while I was taking care of the other order". Really? enough time went by from prior customer, foods in oven, your filling a soda and then I asked "hey, two slices please" so I could get into the bathroom I just drove from Manhattan. Paul and his family are extremely nice, and friendly, and they know many of the local customers by their first names. This place was started by Paul's dad back in 1972. Including, the PLANCHI SANDWICH, which is named after Police Officer Planchi. It consists of a HOT CHICKEN SANDWICH WITH GARLIC, HOT PEPPERS AND TOMATO SAUCE, and MOZZARELLA on a SUB BREAD. This sandwich sounds delicious ! They make GARLICKY ITALIAN KNOTS and you can't just eat one. What I really enjoy is Luigi's pizza, my favorite is the WHITE PIE WITH BROCCOLI. It has no sauce on it just dough, pieces of chopped broccoli, fresh mozzarella and ricotta cheese, garlic and spices all baked together on a golden brown crust.. I like that they chop the broccoli so every bite has broccoli ,mozzarella cheese, and ricotta. I have also eaten their PEPPERONI and SAUSAGE PIZZA too.It was very good and not oily like some other places Luigi's makes a great crust. It's no too thin and not too thick, and it's not doughy. Their crust is just right. It's one of the best crusts around in Morris County. They also make a sicilian style pizza which is thicker crust. Luigi's added to their pizza menu another type of pie called GRANDMA PIE. (Grandma pie is square or rectangular pizza that has been cooked in an olive oil-coated pan. It's covered in a thin layer of mozzarella cheese, and it usually has fresh tomatoes, evoo and spices. When it comes out of the oven, the thick crust is a little crispy.) Luigi's is located in the Roxbury Mall, near the Dress Barn and Kohl's which is down from Shoprite. You can call in an order, or place it online and have it ready for pickup or eat in. Luigi's DOES NOT DELIVER ... There are a few tables, but the majority of this business is takeout. We used to enjoy Luigis. But now we have dietary restrictions in our home. Called tonight (5pm) to ask if they offer gluten free pies and how they handle them. The young lady on the phone was very put out with my pointed questions. If you have allergies in your home, you know you need details. She couldn't answer anything directly (ie, do you have a special cutter for the GF pizza?) and said we do the best we can and managed to tell me twice she was busy. I bought an Italian sub and 2 slices of pizza and the total was 16.95~ ish. if the sub had meat on the sandwich I have no problem paying $10-$11 dollars for it but it was all bread.
