I have tried their classic breakfast sausage and Thai sausage sandwiches and they are both delicious. Both come with Mama's lil peppers, cheese, and a fried egg on top. It can be a bit messy of bite so grab lots of napkins! They seem to be always out of the chorizo sandwich when I stop by so it's probably worth a try as well!

During rainy days, it's gonna get muddy walking through that lot. It gets better once you pass the entrance and go through the path. You will go along the Oxbow Lake on one side and apple trees on the other. After that path, you'll get to the farm where small vegetable, pumpkin, and sunflower patches are. Everything is so cute! The most interesting part is the conservation tent is. Super big and full of baby plants. Amazing! Just don't touch anything :) They grow a lot of flowers too. They have tomatoes in another tent. There are activities for kids such as painting pumpkins or scavenging hunt. You can also have lunch at the tables and buy cider from them :)

But I was very turned off last year by them asking for tips when paying with a credit card! They can turn off the tip option on their credit card machine but they choose not to. I think sometimes they let go through the screen yourself and select your options on the ipad but I've also encountered them several times asking loudly, do you want to leave a tip? Their u-pick prices are already $1-$3 higher per pound for most things compared to the farmers market and then on top of that they want tips. It is DISGUSTING. They don't make tipped wages like waiters so why are they trying to get even more money from their customers through tips? People may leave tips but guess what, in this economic climate, we don't want to leave tips. But we feel that if we don't that you will not only judge us but perhaps even treat us badly. The tips that you have received aren't a signal that we think you are doing a great job; we are afraid of repercussions if we don't. Edit: I thought they were organic but I just checked their website and it doesn't explicitly say that they are, it did mention healthy soil. But it says they offer organic vegetable starts which kinda implies they are organic. So keep this in mind when looking at their pricing.

They estimated 20-90 minutes for the maze and we completed it in just under 34. I think the maze is free for kids under age 3 (or so?) and for everyone else it's $5 per person. I recommend wearing something like hiking shoes because the maze is pretty bumpy (because of corn stalk stumps). They also had a food truck (tacos!), flower stand, produce stand, a pumpkin patch, sunflowers, pigs, and probably something else I'm forgetting. There was a steady flow of people (arriving and leaving) but everyone wore masks and it was easy to stay quite far from people because the farm has plenty of space. The only close encounter was one group of 3 people while we were lost in the maze. They accept cash and had hand sanitizer available.

Having shopped around, I can honestly say that the quality of produce coming from Local Roots is superior to other farms. I also get to see all the hard work that goes into producing this high quality produce, so I feel confident making this statement. No one grows veggies as delicious as Local Roots, and I know this because I eat a lot of them.

I can't believe such a beautiful setting (50 acres) would run such a horrible horse boarding…read morefacility. It looks nice from the outside, but once you board there you pull back the curtain and see the truth. The owner of the land is converting the place to a Christmas Tree farm and leaving the back section to a barn manager who barely knows what a horse is. I pay $715/month for pasture only and they restrict feed to our horse because the owner hates to spend too much $$. The barn manager wants to develop a Parelli program here but I've never seen her ride a horse. Don't work there either! She lies and manipulates and takes advantage of young workers. I can't say one nice about her.. she's just playing a role and trying to convince everyone that she's Wrangler Jane, but she's all smoke and mirrors. Stay away from here. If you value your horse's health and well being, don't board here.
