A small little family owned lavender farm near Snoqualmie Falls! My husband and I made a morning…read moredate of it. We started at Snoqualmie Falls, had brunch at Salish and then headed over at 10am to Snofalls Lavender to do U-pick lavender. The field is small but really pretty. They had 3 types of lavender. The kind for arrangements, English lavender for cooking and white lavender for tea. Price was $5 per person which get you 50 stalks per person. So for my husband and I, she told us we could pick 100 stems. She also provided us with a basket and scissors. Highly recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, water, and camera ( for photos!) We went around 10am and it got pretty sunny and warm in the field. Also, I didn't realize how many bees there would be out there, if you don't bother them, they won't bother you :) Overall, it was a really cute little spot. I wish they had some of their products out for sale but otherwise, my husband and I had a great time.

Some people stopped by just to take pictures which is allowed but come on, don't be a freeloader and let's show our support. It's only $5 From your wallet to support this small family lavender farm. Everyone was wearing masks and was socially distanced. Some people took off their mask to take pictures. I would recommend bringing your own scissors to avoid sharing. Would def come back!

We learned the perfect picking trick here: choose fully bright red berries. Avoid the overripe purple ones, as the bright red ones taste the sweetest and have the best texture. They estimated 20-90 minutes for the maze and we completed it in just under 34. I think the maze is free for kids under age 3 (or so?) and for everyone else it's $5 per person. I recommend wearing something like hiking shoes because the maze is pretty bumpy (because of corn stalk stumps). They also had a food truck (tacos!), flower stand, produce stand, a pumpkin patch, sunflowers, pigs, and probably something else I'm forgetting. There was a steady flow of people (arriving and leaving) but everyone wore masks and it was easy to stay quite far from people because the farm has plenty of space. The only close encounter was one group of 3 people while we were lost in the maze. They accept cash and had hand sanitizer available.

But I was very turned off last year by them asking for tips when paying with a credit card! They can turn off the tip option on their credit card machine but they choose not to. I think sometimes they let go through the screen yourself and select your options on the ipad but I've also encountered them several times asking loudly, do you want to leave a tip? Their u-pick prices are already $1-$3 higher per pound for most things compared to the farmers market and then on top of that they want tips. It is DISGUSTING. They don't make tipped wages like waiters so why are they trying to get even more money from their customers through tips? People may leave tips but guess what, in this economic climate, we don't want to leave tips. But we feel that if we don't that you will not only judge us but perhaps even treat us badly. The tips that you have received aren't a signal that we think you are doing a great job; we are afraid of repercussions if we don't. Edit: I thought they were organic but I just checked their website and it doesn't explicitly say that they are, it did mention healthy soil. But it says they offer organic vegetable starts which kinda implies they are organic. So keep this in mind when looking at their pricing.

A sweet, family-run farm featuring the cutest herd of alpacas (and big old sweetheart guard dogs)…read more -- we stopped by for a farm tour and had an absolute blast, and it's just about a ~40 min drive from Seattle proper. The owners are seriously wonderful -- you can tell they care so much about what they do and their passion for their work is absolutely infectious. The tour is split up into a few sections, where we got to learn more about alpaca products, about alpacas in general, and then a feeding session. The alpacas are SO. CUTE. and they are very gentle -- I was pleasantly surprised by their goofy summer haircuts. They have tons of products made from the herd, including yarn. They also hold community events around the wintertime and for Mother's Day! Highly recommend a visit and to support these great folks!
