I called around got answering machines and appointment setters at most other Plumbing firms. Steve Sr answered phone immediately, told me he could install a new water heater at around 2:30 or 3pm when he finished job he was on in Oreland. He asked me to get model number to him as he was heading to his supplier soon and he would pick up needed unit of the same size tank and height. He also quoted a price at the time. At 2:30 Father and Son arrived with heater on the truck and we had hot water by 4pm. The price was exactly as quoted and he has a customer for life. The job site was cleaner when they finished and were extremely careful carrying heater in and old heater out for provided disposal. No BS disposal fee or anything added to estimate. Thank you Steve and Steve, I'll call again.

Had an ongoing problem with hot water heater peridically leaking from the pressure relief valve. 6…read moremonths ago we hired another local "small business" company to deal with same issue. They came in, did terrible and potentially dangerous work and then overcharged us to the tune of $350.00 Fast forward to this week. Called Steve Marston about this ongoing problem (still love the small business). He was at the house the next morning. He explained to us how the excessive water pressure into the house was causing the problem...within 5 minutes. They (Steve Sr. & Jr.) tested the pressure coming into the residence and found it way to high. They put in a pressure reducing valve on the water inlet, checked the expansion tank (which was 6 mos old) and found the interior bladder had exploded (probably the same day the "other guy in town" installed it). He replaced the expansion tank and was done with all that in about 2 hours. AND THE PRICE WAS STILL LESS THAN WHAT I PAID THE OTHER COMPANY. The Marstons are awesome people & quality workers.

When my fiancé tells him that we were told by the woman he spoke to when he made the appointment we didn't need a specific garbage disposal, he said we can't listen to the office because "they are just two women who don't know what they're talking about".... Yikes! The plumber was impatient with us for buying the wrong garbage disposal, and said he couldn't do anything and wouldn't be able to come back for days. I walked out of the room and my fiancé stayed with him asking what we should do - we just need to get a new garbage disposal that doesn't have a cord. So we call the office when the plumber leaves to see when we can get another appointment and the woman says tomorrow. Great. Then we get a call back and the woman says the plumber won't be returning to our home because we did not take his advice and he's an expert of 25 years and she hung up on us. Steer clear of these guys.

Of course, it was in the evening and required service outside of normal business hours. Rydal sent their very knowledge tech, Andrew, to my rescue in about one hour after I called them. I typically see Andrew twice a year when I have my units serviced. He is a true asset to Rydal! In a short period of time, he had my furnace back to normal. If a newly installed fixture does not function correctly before the technician leaves, ensure the issue is fully resolved rather than assuring the customer it will "adjust" over time. Clearly explain and document parts and labor warranty terms in writing before the work begins. Finally, recommend only the repairs that are necessary. In my case, the original faucet had functioned properly for nearly 27 years, yet the entire hose bib assembly was replaced to address a cracked copper pipe. I relied on that professional recommendation, but the replacement faucet never shut off properly from the day it was installed. Greater accountability, better quality control, and stronger post-installation support would have prevented this experience.
