IT Landes were not only the cheapest, but we also felt the most comfortable with their sales person ("project estimator"), Frank. He was not at all pushy, the pricing was straightforward and well explained. Fast forward 1.5 years, one AC repair and the furnace suddenly died in the middle of winter. Frank was back out the day we called. No surcharge for emergency service, no deposit required, and the new quote was actually a few bucks less than previously. Installation was scheduled for 2 days time, so Frank brought us two portable space heaters to keep us warm in the meantime! The installation team did a great job, (mostly) kept the rest of the house clean, and the finished job looks very tidy and professional. Best of all the new HVAC is quiet, efficient and the house is very comfortable. One note: I wouldn't recommend going with the Carrier-branded thermostat that Landes recommended. It doesn't get good reviews online and there are plenty of other better ones out there. We chose the Ecobee 3, but there is also the Nest and others from Honeywell.

TWO WORDS: STAY AWAY…read more I contacted IT Landis for service on our 20-month-old Lennox heat pump with an auxiliary propane furnace because they advertise themselves as a Premier Lennox Dealer. The system would not reach the thermostat setting of 69°F and was running 24/7 without heating the home. Visit #1: The technician suggested we run our ceiling fans in winter mode and that the outside temperature was very cold (NO FOOLING THAT'S ITS COLD OUT-IT'S CALLED WINTER). No diagnostics or meaningful troubleshooting were performed, and the problem was not resolved. Visit #2: Two days later the same technician returned. At 11:00 AM the thermostat was reading only 64°F despite being set to 69°F, yet he again stated there was nothing wrong with the system. We then contacted the service manager, Dominic. Unfortunately, the conversation was extremely unpleasant. He was dismissive, rude, arrogant and said he would "do us a favor" by sending another technician, even though these were paid service calls. Visit #3: I mentioned to the Tech that we could smell propane in the attic where the furnace is located. The technician responded that he works with gas and oil so often that he has "no sense of smell," and again concluded there was no issue. The following day our propane supplier delivered fuel and immediately identified a gas leak in the furnace gas line--in the same area the technician had reportedly checked. We had to hire a plumber to repair the leak at a cost of $475, which should never have occurred. Visit #4 I called IT Landis after the gas line repair that was caused by the first tech and this tech again stated that the house was warm. I attempted to explain that the outside temperature happened to be 68 degrees that day so the inside temp was reading 68 but the system still did not heat to the 69 degree set point on the thermostat Visit #5 and Resolution: After four visits from IT Landis with no solution, we contacted another HVAC company. Within 15 minutes, they identified the real issue: the trunk line supplying heat to the first floor had become disconnected/loose, meaning the system was heating the attic instead of the living space so the thermostat would never reach the 69 degree setpoint. The repair cost $520. In total, FOUR IT Landis "technicians" failed to diagnose OBVIOUS ISSUES, including a gas leak that was caused by them and a disconnected/loose trunk line. Between the poor diagnostics and extremely unprofessional customer service from management, this was the worst service experiences I have ever had. BTW, the arrogant service manager had the audacity to mail us an $800 bill...GOOD LUCK ATTEMPTING TO COLLECT ON THAT. We spoke to an attorney and was advised that we should file a lawsuit against IT Landis for creating a potential fire/explosion/carbon monoxide hazard that they caused with the leaking gas line, excessive propane usage due to the gas leak, and their inability to repair the trunk line issue thus causing the furnace to run 24/7 for over two weeks causing us to incur over $2100 in unnecessary propane bills. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for HVAC service. DO NOT USE IT Landis

They fixed another plumber's shoddy work (Ben Manis Plumbing-DO NOT USE HIM EVER!!!) and did not leave without completely checking both my plumbing and HVAC systems.They cleaned up after themselves and suggested that I get a contract (at a reasonable price!) for both systems for peace of mind which I did. I had the fill valve purchased new from Home Depot as I thought it would save me money to have my own new part. I also had the bidet wand. As is typical for some companies today there was a charge to come out--not to be applied towards my bill. The young man came in to see what the work was and then out to the truck to call the office on pricing. I told him/showed him, the fill valve I had purchased. He told me they will not use customer provided parts. I asked him to ask the office again about this policy , he did, and nothing changed. His pricing for these 3 jobs was over $900. I told him I wanted parts and labor to be itemized. Answer was 'we don't do that', 'we have flat fee pricing'. Between the cost and their refusal to use the new part I bought, I told him to only handle the fill valve part of the job however I insisted on an invoice with parts and labor itemized. Again, they refused to do so. I called the office to speak to the service manager, and he again refused to comply with my request, again repeated the flat fee pricing. In the end I got no-where. I asked to see the box the new fill valve came in--no surprise--same company part as what I had purchased. Cost for the 11 minutes max it took him to replace the part? $373.12 to include the $79. arrival charge. Did not get an itemized bill. What are they hiding? Knowing cost of parts and cost of labor is a routine and reasonable request of a customer, and many companies automatically provide this information without being asked. Addendum: I had the other 2 parts of the initial job completed by another company for $265.00 and automatically received an itemized bill. Note that even combining the two companies charges, the total is not close to exceeding $900 which Hirschberg quoted when they job costed initially.

Look elsewhere for a trusted HVAC company! Detail: Be very careful with this company. My furnace was making a loud rumbling sound so I called C&C based on a referral from a friend. Front desk was really nice, she did mention there could be a diagnostic fee of $69 on top of the automatic $129 service fee if the technician needed to do a deep assessment to figure out the problem. In the end, my inducer motor went bad. This is a problem that should be immediately identifiable by an experience technician, but they charged the $69 fee for "minor diagnostics." Ok, fine, but then, instead of quoting a repair they called it "costly" and recommend COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF THE ENTIRE UNIT. The sales guy called me to schedule a time to come and give a replacement estimate. I had to stop him, and ask what the repair of the motor would cost. He couldn't quote it at the time. The next day, the office called me and quoted the repair at $1100. At this point, I didn't really trust the place, my unit is about 18 years old but is in decent shape, there is no reason to jump to complete replacement. So I googled the serial number and found the replacement part, confirmed with a friend in another state who has HVAC experience. The replacement motor was $300 online, shipped next day delivery. Talking with my friend, and looking up induce motor replacements online, I decided to give it a shot. I am barely handy and the repair took me 20 minutes; a few mounting screws, an electrical connector, and a hose detach/reattach and it was done. Furnace kicked right on, back to normal. So glad my instincts were right about this place and I got away just giving them $200 ($129 service call + $69 diagnostic fee) and stopped responding to them trying to replace my entire unit! There are tons of HVAC companies, find someone else that is a bit more honest with their consultations and a bit more reasonable with their pricing.
