Went in today to buy beef tongue expecting it to be fresh and of good quality. Upon bringing it home we realized the meat had an awful rotting smell and had been frozen (there were ice chunks and the base of the tongue was hard). Ive had this inconvenience happen twice already. I ask the butcher for pork ribs and they price for me beef ribs. Which is like 5 dollars more a pound. First time i called and they refunded me the difference . This second time they said they dont do returns or exchanges. I showed them the receipt that im not asking for any of that just a refund for what they overcharged me. A woman at the register waiting to pay overheard my conversation and said the same thing has happened to her before . Im starting to believe its done intentionally. Can't speak about grocery shopping here because I haven't bought any of their meats but I did get some carne asada taco and chicken tacos and they were absolutely delicious ! Don't believe me just look at the picture! Probably the most photogenic tacos I have seen. I loved the tortilla they were a little thicker than usual tacos but 4 tacos and I was full. The food part is located at the right corner of the store, they have a really big menu so they have any of your needs but I'm telling you don't skip these tacos! If they offered barbecued meat, then they would supplant Primo Market for Mexican market supremacy. But they do have a great adobada de puerco. It's super great actually. Another great item they sell is their homemade guacamole. The guacamole is much softer than Primo's version but costs the same, but it's the flavor that sets it apart. Rodeo's salsa verde is hot, not sour, hot. So if you're looking to venture into something more mild, then you should probably head down the street to Food 4 Less and grab a bottle of Herdez. Aside from the adobada, you can also puchase longanisa (sausage) and Cuban cuts of steak like palomilla and milanese. Granted, those cuts aren't specifically Cuban, but if you're looking to create some Cuban meals at home, this is where you can find your steak. You'll also find lots of produce and pre-packaged goods here. The parking lot is much easier to navigate than Primo and proximity to the 78 is less than one mile. It's a no-brainer if you live in Vista. But if you live close to the 78 and you swear by Primo, you owe it to yourself to see who really is the best. That's the American way... read more

My friend brought some Rodeo's guacamole to work one day. Ever since that day, I would drive by and I would wonder what it's like in there. I finally went in there last week and it was great. Purchases included: bags of tortilla chips from the back, guacamole from the take-out food area, and pico de gallo from the take-out food area. I went back tonight to get some meat. I asked, "Do you guys have marinated chicken?" Boy, do they! The chicken breast is very thin. I love it. I love the "pollo asado" seasoning they use. We have been trying to find a meat market since we have came here a few months back and can't find any like we have in Washington. Anyway hubby found rodeos and went in. They didn't have t- bones which is our favorite, ok fine but he didn't feel welcome at all. Everything is in Spanish. They looked at him weird like he isn't Mexican, he shouldn't be there. Doesn't stores nowadays have a lot of labels in English then Spanish to help them? They can't do that for us? I thought discrimination was bad? Really sad.
