After having dinner next door at La Loncherita. I wanted to check out for Carniceria Market Michoacan for the first time. I was on the hunt for some Arrachera. I was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of items they had on hand. The market offers an impressive selection of fresh and marinated meats, including the arrachera I was looking for. I went here to pick up some authentic chorizo and taco meat, the gentleman manning the meat counter was very helpful with suggestions and explained to me what meat goes with the dish I was making. It's a small establishment but I'm certain that you'll find what you need, it's very homey and I loved the ambiance. read more

This is a small Mexican store that sell meat and groceries. On the weekends they also sell hot food like Menudo and Tacos. The tacos are $3.99 each a bit costly but are heaping with meat and are very good. I suggest you eat their because to go portions might not be as fat plus they have some really good chili on the table which will cost you more money to go. Be very watchful when buying cooked meat by the pound I've had the butcher load up my meat with fat so let the buyer beware. Not really and service here you basically order your food at the meat counter and eat a one of the tables they only have two. Then pay at the register on the way out. No real ambiance since you are eating in a grocery store. Since it's located in a strip mall there is plenty of park spaces. read more

First time in today and so far so good. I grabbed some pre-marinated carne asada to grill up on this nice day and it was not bad at all. I think it's around $7 per lb. No fuss, no muss. Just took the meat home, fired up the grill, and proceeded to make some above average tacos for the guest. I will definitely be back to try out the al pastor. I recommend you give it a try if you don't have time or the energy to make it yourself. read more

This deserves to be the highest rated carniceria around. Most of the taco stands I used to like are lowering their quality and quantities, so I came in search of raw taco meats. This was on a weekday, so I couldn't get the barbacoa, which is only sold on weekends, along with the menudo (soup). I got the pastor (or adobada) spicy pork for me, and the carne asada tenderized beef for my wife. The butcher, and probable owner, was very chill and welcoming, willing to take the time to explain things to a Latin cuisine tourist. The meat was delicious and we were able to make the mouth watering tostadas we can't seem to find anymore. I came back the next weekend and got more pastor and about 3 lbs of barbacoa meat. We found a recipe that looked right, and slow cooked it in a clay pot for at least 13 hours. I tripled the amount of adobo sauce poblano peppers. It's the spiciest barbacoa I've ever had, but man is it good. read more

I was so happy to find goat Birria close to home, stopped by during the week to inquire, Saturday & Sunday open @ 8am. We showed up at 8:03, only four seats left, people half way through their meals, I kinda laughed inside, everybody inside were like family it felt. Like most of my favorite places, I was the only white guy in sight, this usually tells me I'm in the right place, once or twice not the case! Birria here has the red broth, not the biggest fan, the goat had lost most of it's gamy flavor, maybe cooked too long? Happy to return, the cooks were great for service & any questions we had. The TACOS looked incredible, as you couldn't see the tortilla, so much meat & toppings! I know what I'm trying next Saturday! See you @ 8:03! read more

There's a ton of stuff here aside from the meats, but the butchery is the most interesting part. I did walk around the store, but I didn't even really grasp that they had videos for sale. Goes to show that if your language skills are rusty, you might not notice the stuff that's in a foreign tongue. The meats, though are an international language without a doubt. When you walk in, there are a few aisles of packaged good off to the right, past the register, off to the left, there's a long butcher case and a couple of folding tables with folding chairs. More on them later. Overall, the place feels pretty tightly packed and cluttered, but in a welcoming way. The meat case features a long row of pans full of adobada, asada, chicken, and other taco meats. All seasoned and marinated and ready to go, you just have to cook them however you want. There's chorizo and other stuff in there as well. Virtually everything is under $5 a pound--unbelievably good prices. On Sundays, they make carnitas and serve tacos and other stuff with it. The tables fill up and the carnitas sell out early, so don't drag your feet. Very stoked to have these guys in the area. We came in on a Sunday afternoon, and our of 20 people, we were the only ones who weren't native Spanish speakers. There definitely seems to be a strong community feeling here. read more

this review is rated 5 exclamation points!!!!! a hidden gem located in the strip mall behind the lynnwood convention center, next door to the tanning salon. this is a mexican market, a tiendita with a carniceria. the grocery shelves are well-dusted. the ladies at the front are friendly. and...what's this??? a meat counter! yeah well, it is a carniceria, yes? duh! the case had beautiful cuts of beef, pork and chicken, as well as some seasoned meat for carne asada and other seasoned meats. the meat counter was busy during the 30 minutes i was there. everyone was loading up for their sunday dinner. there are fresh veggies like onions and avocados in front of the meat case. there were some beautiful cactus leaves. there is a heated deli case with.....with..... chicarrones! BIG long chunky strips of pork belly!!! so thick, you can reheat it at home in the microwave and not reduce it to a teeth-cracking piece of rock. the gentleman behind the meat counter told me on saturday and sundays they have pork and beef and soup. i returned on sunday, the hot case had the chicarrones, the crispy tacos, and pulled pork and beef. there were men sitting at the 3 tables eating tacos and a bowl of what looked like....like... BIRRIA! of course, i asked, and the same gentleman from a few days ago told me it was goat soup. :-)) i LOVE GOAT (soup) BIRRIA! you can get a large bowl for $8.99 or 1/2 bowl for $6.99 served with cilantro, chopped white onions, a wedge of lime and warm tortillas. i was advised for the future to get there before 1 pm. at 1:30, my bowl was the last one before they sold out. then i noticed a sealed plastic tub of what looked like beef jerky. i was told it is mexican beef jerky called carne seca. $12.99 a lb. i "cooked" it for a minute on each side at home per instructions on my grill. it came out perfectly "reheated" with a nice chewy consistency. when i asked what kind of beef was used for the carne seca, he told me it was a cut from the leg, then he brought out this huge hunk of meat from the cooler to show me. how cool is that? write this down: 1. goat birria on saturday and sunday. get there before 1p 2. chicharrones 3. carne seca 4. home made salsas 5. fresh cactus leaves...time to try that recipe i saw on the cooking channel 6. order your food, sit at the table, you can get a drink like a mexican coke from the grocery side. eat your food, drink your drink, go to the front, tell the ladies what you had, and pay what they say you owe. the chicarrones, pulled pork and beef, crispy tacos, carne seca and salsas are made in-house. what a great find. did i tell you i LOVE GOAT BIRRIA? i didn't even notice if they had videos there. read more

Never disappoints! This place is gold! Legit and authentic! Everything you can possibly need to have a taco fiesta at home! That is precisely what I planned for my husband! I asked the butcher how much meat he thinks I would need for about 12 to 15 people, he suggested about 9 pounds and he waa pretty on point. He also helped me out by saying I can pick it up tomorrow instead of having to put it in my own fridge! AWESOME! THE DOUBLE AWESOME? THEY HAVE ARRACHERA!!! I have been craving arrachera since my Cancùn trip! The best thing ever and they carry it! The butcher even asked if I wanted it seasoned (mind blown!) Service is just awesome! The market also sells their homemade salsa, tortillas, chips, avocado..seriously everything to make yourself an awesome and authentic Mexican meal! WAIT..THERE'S MORE! I may now be telling my age..but they have those amazing Mexican candies that are now hard to find from my childhood. This place is my favourite for any of my taco and Mexican ingredients needs! If i could give 0 stars I would have too bad is not an option . I purchased carne a el pastor to make at home and it was the worst carne a el pastor I have ever tasted. No flavor whatsoever not even salt and the quality of the meat was extremely poor . It was so bad we didn't eat it. Needless to say it ruined our dinner. read more

Saw this place when getting my son a haircut nearby. We were a little early so we stopped in here and so glad that we did. They had some amazing looking marinated meats in the butcher display. I bought a pound and a half of Al Pastor, a couple limes, and a bundle of cilantro for a very reasonable price. For dinner I cooked the AL Pastor in a pan, put it on heated corn tortillas with a sprinkle of diced white onion, cilantro, some cotija, and a squeeze of lime. It was so delicious!!!! So easy and so amazing. I can't wait to go back and spend more time in there seeing what other good stuff they have. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Al pastor was better than anything the taco trucks near me have. I'll be back soon to try more! read more
