It was a choice between this and a couple of chain restaurants for us, and my son picked Mr. T's Moonshine BBQ. We were there a bit later, just before 8 p.m. on a Monday, and easily got a table right away. I didn't want too much food - at my age I've learned my eyes and stomach are rarely on the same page - but I definitely wanted some brisket...as an amateur smoker I appreciate how much work goes into beef brisket so always try it when I see it on a menu. So I went with the Happy Hour Caesar Salad & Brisket. For $8.50 it was a great value. The fat of the brisket was rendered PERFECTLY. My wife wanted the baked potato but allegedly someone came earlier and bought TWELVE and cleaned them out. Disappointing! But the two street tacos she got off the Happy Hour menu were tasty. My teenager decided to lean in and get the brisket entree. Fries and Mac & cheese as the sides with cornbread. He added some of his brisket to the Mac & cheese and loved it. Fries were crispy (double fried? Or battered?) but didn't get finished - too much food! I had a couple of beers that were good. The tap listing was available on a screen. Service was well-above average. Very friendly. I can imagine this place getting busy during peak hours but it's small enough that they likely can keep up. I doubt we'll be back. We are from out of town and while we come to the Seattle area often I like to try new places whenever possible. Was in Lynnwood for lunch and really felt like a pulled pork sandwich. This place popped up so I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did! I was greeted by the bartender who said I could anywhere I like. I pulled up to the bar and ordered a beer and the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. The beer came quick and the sandwich followed shortly after. They have two BBQ sauces available on the table sweet/spicy with a roll of paper towels. I chose sweet and loaded up my sandwich. Parking lot was packed- but there was one high-top table when we walked in. We grabbed it. Loud bar/pub atmosphere- I'm sure sporting events are fun here. Big bar on one side and 'family' seating on the other with warnings for the under 21's to not cross the border. I got the half rack of ribs and my partner got the pulled chicken sandwich. Also beers. The food arrived fast: nice thing about bbq is that it has to be already prepared so they just have to plate it. The half rack was huge. 6 big ribs, Cesar salad and fries were my sides. So much food. Glad I got the salad. I didn't try the pulled chicken but she got the Mac and cheese as a side and that was really good. Haven't had decent restaurant Mac and cheese in a while. I'd like to know what they make in-house here. The fries felt bought-in...the salad was...good but...uniform? Like maybe out of a bag? I'm prepared to be wrong about that. The barbecue was good. The ' spicy' sauce was sweet and not vey spicy and the 'sweet' sauce was kind of boring: bbq sauces need work. Add a mustard based sauce? We LOVE dining here, especially being huge hockey players/fans. The owner is awesome. He tells great stories about his hockey days of yore, and the food is scrumptious. Great family environment, accompanied by sports content on high def. televisions, and fantastic decor, especially during the Christmas season. Not a fan of the huge 15-20 foot skeleton in the back dining area, but maybe it's something funny, or meaningful to the staff, or still remains from Halloween (because it's too bit to store anywhere else?). lol Regardless, this restaurant is one of our favorites in the Lynnwood area. I loved the crisp of the onions on top and the pub bun was so pillowy and held up shockingly well to the mountain of toppings annd burger inside. Report from my first visit: the sweet potato waffle fries are so good I'm actually mad about it. I don't even like sweet potato fries most of the time, but the crisp on these was perfect. If you served them with some whipped butter and maple syrup they'd be a breakfast dish. They were seriously incredible. I had the Master Potato, which was a temporary special, and it was indeed masterfully done. Every part of it was perfectly cooked, the chicken fit in really well, no complaints. My companion says the brisket is basically perfect. Service and ambiance are both fine; nothing to write home about. Moonshine says it's a bbq place. It is, but that's burying the lede: it's a hockey bar transported from the border between Ontario and Quebec during playoff season that has some of the best damn barbecue I've had in the area. Photos litter the walls, including a few of the owner if you know who to look for, of all the hockey greats. Some real salad on display in places. A few famous sticks are enshrined out front, and there's some relics here and there that tie the whole place together. Tables are a mix of booths, high tops, low tops, and bar seating. It's got The Vibe. The brews: wide selection. I'm a cider drinker but they had something for me. Their beer selection is almost all local except for the small handful of "if we didn't, we'd have a fight break out." Served right, in nicely cleaned glass, by someone who gives a damn about pouring it right. The meat: soft, tender ribs that fall off the bone. Brisket that is juicy but just firm enough. Burgers that hit harder than Larry Zeidel. If you have a big appetite you'll be fine. Otherwise, you'll have some left over for tomorrow. The sides: none of this KD quality Mac and cheese, it's home made and loose. Everything is made in house from some old recipe in some grange cookbook and sacre de calisse it's good. The potato salad is chunky like it should be. The beans ... oh the beans... perfection. The sauces: sweet isn't too sweet, hot ain't too hot, tastes like there's some good molasses and a bit of Pepsi in there somewhere. The meats don't come sauced so you get to pick exactly how much you want or how little. The meat might stand on its own, but the sauces are a harmony in the song. The poutine: **fuck me, lord** this is some of the best poutine in the state. My partner spent a hot minute in Quebec and he gushes over it. The gravy is made from drippings, it has to be I swear. You could make a meal out of just some poutine and a bit of meat. Split three ways it's still a powerful appetizer. Smooth gravy, crisp double-set fries, fresh curds... So first things first I tried it out on a Friday evening the patio was the only part available which was fine but there is a huge bee problem. A few colleagues and I came by on a Wednesday night to find that we made it to their closing happy hour window. We ordered nachos and poutine from the happy hour menu (smaller portions) and then a couple meat combos to share between us all. My end of the table shared a 3-meat combo with ribs, brisket, and pulled pork for our meat choices, and then coleslaw and baked beans as our side, and the meal came with a slice of cornbread and some whipped butter. The happy hour items were pretty great and enough for six people to share despite the smaller portions than their regular menu. The meat was also very tender on the combo platter and I enjoyed having sauces available at the table because I am a sauce girl - the ribs were my favorite as they were fall-off-the-bone tender. The only things I didn't love were the coleslaw and baked beans - there was not really any flavor in either, just some tossed cabbage and wet beans. The cornbread was also plain and dry (the butter helped), so I'd say don't get your hopes up for any sides and just focus on the meats if you get a meat combo. This was my first time here so I can't gauge whether this was a normal crowd to staff member ratio but we didn't see our server more than the times it took for her to bring our food and have us pay, so we got pretty thirsty by the end of our meal having asked for water refills and never getting any. Overall I'd give 4 stars for the food but 3 for service. There was also a man dressed as a pirate who stood in the parking lot and silently watched us walk to our cars, which was.. uncomfortable. read more

This was the rudest host I've ever encountered, and their non-so-subtle tone felt racist. Unless you are white, I would advise skipping this place if you don't want to be treated like a second-class citizen. We went there on Friday, and the place was busy. A group was ahead of us, so we waited. No one asked how many were in our party, but we assumed they were busy. Then, a blond woman arrived after us. After a bit, the host greeted her and ignored us. My wife had to call out that we were there first. The host ignored us again, prompting my wife to raise her voice. Then, the host looked at us as if we were a huge inconvenience, gave us the most unpleasant smile I've ever seen, and simply said, "yeah yeah." And one of the person in the party made a joke that "someone need a drink" and then they just laughed at us. Located off 196th St SW. Visited a couple times in April '23 with a large party of adults and hockey playing teenagers. It turned out we picked the right place to eat and have a few drinks since the walls are loaded with tons of hockey pictures and memorabilia !! During both visits the staff was super friendly and more than willing to accommodate the group. The food's amazing, unfortunately I didn't get a chance to snap up a pic because I was ready to dig in!
