Carnival Horizon...LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Enjoyed an AMAZING 6 day cruise on board Carnival Horizon. The staff is so friendly. The service is outstanding. The boat is immaculately clean. The activities on the boat are all super fun. My stateroom was so cute. So why am I giving 4 stars instead of 5? The food in the main dining room is good. Guys burgers, Blue Iguana, pizza bar, and Fahrenheit 555 are all yummy, the buffet was meh. We had breakfast one morning and it was good, but the other meals were yuck. Plus, this boat has terrible desserts. I'm not counting the ice cream. That is delicious! Overall though, we had the best time, and already booked our next cruise with Carnival. Hopefully, I will love that boat as much as I loved Horizon.

Birthday Cruise for my daughter , suite booked was expecting great things. Boarding easy since we were priority which was nice . Suite was large with walk in closet room for everything we brought. Bathroom was large with 2 sinks and large outdated spa tub . Balcony was large enough to accommodate 4 people. Room stewart Edi was an pleasure to have , he accommodated us when needed. Now the unpleasant things charged for double at bar , when I didn't request it . Havana Bar access was questioned even with wrist band visible, and simply ignored at bar for drinks. Decided we wouldn't go back just hang in general pool area. Guy's Burger ewwwww yuck , food poisoning from Hibachi chicken was bad . Someone's underwear in the couch in suite . Balcony door hinge bend so if door shut to hard , you will be locked out . Visit Pig & Anchor, food placed on wrong table , when server realized it he retrieved and brought to us . I stated that was placed on the wrong table , he simply stated this your order . Bbq nothing special plus it was room temperature somewhat cold . Went to get towels for pool , I handed attendant my card, instead of giving it back he placed it on counter. Debarkation was a zoo , nothing organized, once out terminal didn't know uber pulled up on both sides was charged a wait fee. Overall will return who knows , Virgin Voyages has me wanting more then a over crowded pool area , kids running up and down hallways . And tasteless opitions on the buffet or mystery meat.

Initially I would have given Carnival Horizon 4 Stars. The ships crew was Super & the cleanliness, food, activities/ shows & excursions were great. But when it came to debarkating today it was a TOTAL FAIL... Currently on the Horizon & I have to say this is the WORSE debakation! There was no leadership exhibited for a late arrival. People are missing their flights & no information or guidance given. Currently two (2) hours in & no sign of getting off the Carnival Horizon. I believe leadership shows itself during adversity & at the moment I have seen NO leadership. I hope Carnival will reprimand Captain Nick for the lack of communication & customer service taking place as the customers are getting unruly not knowing what the HELL is going on. Captain Nick has been silent & I hope he is never given another Ship to lead, maybe demoted to Shipmate.

I've been on 5 cruises so far. Three Carnival and two NCL. The Horizon is the best ship I've been on so far. It's not just the updated decor, but the layout, and the food and activity options offered. If you have the money to fly to Miami and get a hotel, it's definitely worth it!

I have been on several Carnival Cruises this was my first time on the Horizon. This was a 8 day cruise to Aruba, Curaçao, La Romana and Amber Cove. All of these ports were great and we took a tour and ventured out. I had an OceanFront room on the 1st floor room 1389. The room had 2 bathroom, one had a sink and shower and the other had a sink and tub. The bathroom with the sink in Tub smelled like mildew. I wiped it down with Lysol sheets but the smell Re occurred so I left that door close and did not use that bathroom. The food on the ship was pretty standard. I always sit in the dining room for my meals breakfast and Dinner so basically it was okay. The dining room staff were very attentive and they were working hard. We went to the steakhouse and the aroma was awesome. The food was welled prepared and delicious. The piano room is connected to the steak house so they open the divider and we had live music. The Japanese restaurant was really good too. The food was welled prepared and awesome. We really enjoyed the presentation. The entertainment especially the Love and Marriage show was impossible to get into the theatre to see the show. One of the comedians was so boring I fell asleep during his set. They really need to work on the entertainment because it was awful on all levels. Drinks were pretty good if you stayed away from those sugary drinks that were wasted calories. This wasn't a bad cruise ship but Carnival really need to do better with the entertainment unless they are lacking on the entertainment to get you to go into the casino. I am not sure if that's the case but who knows

I'm not sure about the bad reviews but we enjoyed our time on this ship. Leon the cruise director was great. Housekeeping was pleasant. Minn kept our room tidy and responded when we needed anything. The lunch buffet was okay. Some days the food was great and other days it wasn't. Guy's burger bar was a big hit though. Dinner was okay Goran was more than accommodating on our dinner hiccup. Our dinner crew was Rachel, Catherine, and Akbari made dinner pleasant each night. The food at dinner was good except for one night. Onto the activities, we went to the Havana Club, comedy show, art show, Dr. Seuss slides, casino, and the kids did camp ocean. I have zero complaints. Everyone in the party enjoyed the activities. The bar drinks were pricey but I kind of expected that. I would sail on the Horizon again.

We just finished our first cruise! 8 days to the ABC islands and I just have to say, that was a TRIP OF A LIFETIME!! We had an incredible time!!! I will absolutely be coming back again!

This ship is what in these days a medium sized ship . I have always been on smaller ships and prefer them over my experience on the Horizon. The layout of the lido deck I really didn't like the balcony stateroom I had was pretty nice. The dining experience was very bad unless it was a extra cost restaurant the steak house was delicious and the Pig and Anchor was also amazing. The Guys Burgers is the only no extra cost food that is really good. The elevators on this ship are not good so you better like taking the stairs. The casino on board was a bad experience. The bar staff and room Stuarts were very good but some of the other staff were not as friendly. The on board cruise activities not that great. The shore excursions were not the best selection I had ever seen . The air conditioning on this ship was not great either especially in the common areas.

We were celebrating our 35th class reunion on the Horizon October 6-12th We had a great time our guy John who took care of our room was amazing and our waitress at the late dinner was very attentive. We had the Hands down best Cruise Director ever ( Georgia) but we were disappointed that we had an Havana room ( Gold Status) but the furniture was very worn I know they take thousands of trips but about every 3 years maybe the furniture should be upgraded

Set your course for adventure! We have sailed around the world several times and on carnival cruise since 1985, and I've never had a bad experience. We sail many cruise lines and actually have never had a bad cruise....... anywhere! This beats snow anytime! Bon-voyage!

My family thoroughly enjoyed our vacation with a few issues: The food was horrible. My balcony room was nice, however my bathroom had the worst urine smell imaginable every morning. The staff did nothing. They called every morning to send a staff person only to verify and confirm that yes there is a urine smell present. It was aggrevating, and frustrating. The ship is very small, after day 4 I became very nauseated from the boats constant movements. I wouldn't recommend Horizon.

Ok let me start by saying this is my first cruise but i have traveled alot. I can say i am not a cruise person. I think Carnival did a great job. The service was outstanding and cookie the director had a great personality. It's just not my cup of tea. It was alot of ppl everywhere you went. I'm not a buffet person and when i went to the restaurant, it was still a bunch of ppl. The food was mediocre although i did enjoy Guy's burgers. They have plenty of activities for everyone but since im not good with time i missed a bunch. Overall, if you want to take the thinkwork out of traveling this is for you. If you dont like to be rushed or if you have a issues with time i say pass.

    Edward C.

I love this ship. I am amazed time and time again. I actually have never had a bad experience. Carnival has always amazed me and I have yet to be disappointed.

As an Emerald member with the one world alliance, I have always received complimentary seat selection on partner . Unfortunately, this Lufthansa experience fell short of expectations. I paid an extra $140 for seats that appeared to offer a better arrangement during the booking process. However, after my wife and I boarded the aircraft, we realized the seating layout differed from what had been displayed at purchase. Paying additional fees only to encounter an uncomfortable seating situation was disappointing. My assigned seat, 6K, lacked adequate cushioning, making the journey more uncomfortable than expected. I relied on extra pillows and blankets for lower back support throughout much of the flight. On longer trips, seat comfort can make a significant difference in the overall passenger experience. The customer service process proved equally frustrating. I first contacted an agent in Detroit seeking clarification regarding my flight details and aircraft information. I was then transferred to another department, believed to be located in Chicago, where I was informed they could not assist and was given yet another number to call. That representative ultimately redirected me back to the original Detroit contact. Only after several calls and repeated explanations did an agent finally provide the information I had requested from the start. After boarding, I found the aircraft itself attractive and well-maintained, and most of the flight attendants appeared hardworking and professional despite managing a busy cabin. However, the overall environment deteriorated as the flight progressed. A number of passengers were noisy and inconsiderate, and the lavatories became increasingly untidy within a few hours, with wet floors and sinks requiring attention. Although the cabin crew deserved recognition for their efforts and professionalism, the inconsistent customer service, uncomfortable seating experience, and declining cleanliness ultimately overshadowed the positives. Based on this experience, I would strongly compare alternatives before booking Lufthansa for a similar trip in the Future. If you're expecting wall‑to‑wall family programming, this isn't that. That said, the Kids Academy was an absolute hit--the staff was fantastic, the activities kept the little ones happy, and it quickly became the go‑to spot. And the arcade? Total blast. Easily one of the highlights for the kids (and, let's be honest, the adults too). Entertainment-wise, the shows could use a little more spark. Nothing bad, just missing that "wow, we need to see that again" energy. A bit more excitement or variety would go a long way. Now... the part that bumps this from a 3.5 to a solid 4 stars: The Haven. We scored a deal, and if you know, you know. Private restaurant, priority everything, a butler who somehow appears exactly when you need them--it's a different world up there. The Haven experience smooths out every rough edge and turns the whole trip into something special. Overall, Norwegian delivered a great cruise with a few areas that could level up, but thanks to The Haven, it felt like a truly elevated getaway. Would absolutely sail again--especially if another Haven deal pops up. Bon Voyage

But after seeing the ads and reviews for Virgin Voyages, I was intrigued, especially by the adults-only concept, so I decided to try a solo trip. I sailed on the Scarlet Lady for a 5-night cruise out of Miami, with stops in Key West and Bimini. Pros: - Virgin really puts thought into the solo traveler experience. I received a welcome note in my cabin with details about a solo meetup on day one, which made it easy to connect with other travelers and dedicated crew members. - Black Friday deals made it possible to book without paying a double occupancy supplement, which is a huge win for solo trips. - The option to bid for a cabin upgrade was a nice perk for securing more space and a better location. - Dining reservations for the more popular restaurants can be secured once you board. If you miss out initially, you can still join a waitlist directly at the restaurant. - Being able to go straight to your cabin upon boarding was super convenient, and my luggage arrived within a hour. - The sail away party, complete with unlimited champagne and high-energy music, really set the tone for the trip. - The food options were a highlight. Between the rotating ice cream shop, late-night pizza spot, Opa Hour tapas, and The Galley (the avocado toast and desserts had a serious hold on me), there was always something good to eat. - The PJ party was a whole vibe. The DJ kept the energy up with a diverse playlist that had everyone engaged. - The balcony hammock in the cabin is elite. It's the perfect spot to unwind, and a nap is almost guaranteed. Cons: - The pools are on the smaller side and not very deep. - The music playlist can feel repetitive at times. I noticed the same songs playing in the same order two nights in a row. - The complimentary Wi-Fi is inconsistent. It worked fine for scrolling, but streaming apps like Spotify were a struggle. - While most of the staff were great, a few interactions felt less than welcoming, which stood out. - The beach club in Bimini was overcrowded. By the time I arrived around noon, finding a lounge chair was a challenge. Overall, there are clearly more pros than cons when it comes to sailing with Virgin. While I'm still not fully sold on cruising as a whole, this experience definitely shifted my perspective. I'm already considering another Virgin trip; it just might be the one that converts me.

The restaurants that were unique to this ship compared to the last one I was on were the " Chi-Bang", Cucina del Capitano, Teppanyaki and the steakhouse. I also really enjoyed the pizza from the " pizzeria del capitano" as it was very thin and had fresh ingredients! We did eat at the " cucina del capitano" one night for free, but it wasn't anything special, so I wouldn't go again for $8 per person. The rest of the cruise food was the average meals that you get on all ships--- a bit on the heavier side and tough on my digestive system, but it was nice to have the opportunity to skip the seated dinners to eat a quick salad at the buffet or have other lighter meal. In regards to the layout of this ship, I felt that it was a bit confusing and I definitely missed having the central atrium that was present in all other ships. However, we were fortunate enough to have a room in floor 16 so we could be close to the Lido and serenity. Speaking of serenity--- on previous ships, this was on the back of the boat and thus made for a less windy experience, whereas this time it was located on the front of the boat and you were lucky if your food or towels didn't blow away. My other critique of Celebration is that many attractions required an additional cost--- if you're going to advertise a " roller coaster at sea!" , then you shouldn't be charging guests an additional $15 per person to ride it ONCE. Our local 6 Flags has better deals than that. Furthermore due to the high winds and chilly temperatures during our cruise, the " Bolt" rollercoaster was closed more often than it was open. As a result, when we tried to book a ride, they were all sold out. The ropes course and the water slides are free, thankfully, but one of the slides was broken during our trip, so that was a bummer. In regards to the shows and entertainment on this ship, Carnival Celebration blew all the other ships out of the water ( pun intended). Color my world, We Are One, Noche Cubana, and the circus show were absolutely AMAZING. I felt like I was watching some " cirque du Soleil" shows on the cruise ship, and was very impressed! As usual, their Punchliner comedy shows were also hilarious, and they were always a great end to the evening. Overall, due to the greediness of the owners of the ship in making us pay extra for random unnecessary things, I give the ship a 4/5. That rating also includes the fact that, despite advertising " Celebration Key" as a Carnival owner island, all the activities one would want to partake in cost money. I wish cruise ships would stop getting greedy and instead focus on keeping their customers happy by avoiding extra unnecessary charges.

Overall the seven day cruise was fun and relaxing. What I like about this Carnival cruise was the…read moreparty atmosphere and the variety of food options that we enjoyed without additional costs. The suite life was definitely not as great as Royal Caribbean! The things that we like were the spa shower, the Loft deck (for suite guests use only) and the complimentary bottle of wine. The best perk for booking a suite was the nice size of the room. Unlike Royal Caribbean there was no suite lounge or daily reception. No concierge for booking spa treatments, fine dining etc! There was no coffee available in the suite. There were no treats left by the room attendant. There is reserved seating at all events on Royal not Carnival. Carnival only allowed one meal on their private island Celebration Key (after that you have to pay) Royal provides an endless buffet. There was no private area for suite guests like on Royal Caribbean's private island. The thing I disliked the most about this Carnival cruise was the presence of so much security they were three or four deep everywhere on the ship. In the Limelight club the DJ stopped the music, the lights were turned on and security addressed cruisers with drinks in there hands and no shoes on the dance floor (this happened 4 times while we were there during which the DJ scorned the crowd) It was so tacky. Didn't go back there again. We ate most nights at the Lido Marketplace ( buffet). I like having choices and the food was generally good with the exception of the chicken three times we found it undercooked. The ChiBang restaurant was underwhelming. The appetizers were good the dinner entrees so much. Guys burger joint was delicious just a little salty. The coffee offered in the Lido Marketplace was weak. We had to buy coffee everyday to get a decent cup. The cruise staff were really friendly. The New Year's Eve event was okay. (I like the two Royal Caribbean new years cruises better.) We skipped visiting St. John and Amber Cove ports opting to enjoy the quiet boat instead. Disembarking the boat was quick and easy because we got to the staging area very early and carried our own luggage. Though the walk pushing my luggage back to the car was no fun.
