We came Sunday after church and unfortunately the music was so loud we had a hard time talking with one another. Had a very nice time at Carolina ale House. Pretty cool vibe; especially if you like watching sports while having lunch/dinner. Lots of televisions to watch your favorite sport. Food was very good. I had the quesadillas. I got full quickly so I took half home. Service was great - everyone is very accommodating. The only area that I was not thrilled about was how loud it was. I expect a sports bar/restaurant to be loud but this was excessive. Even in the dining area I had to really raise my voice for others to hear me across the table. Not one to leave negative reviews but this trip got me, server Christopher C was rude from the moment he came over to our table. Not a problem really, I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and when I tell you it had 1 singular chicken tender cut in half for the entire thing, I'm not exaggerating, brought this to Christopher's attention and politely asked if there was any way I could get some more on my wrap, since you know it's like 15$ , came back almost instantly and said he could re order it but it would come out the exact same way or he could charge me for a side of chicken, no apology no concern, he must hate his job, which is fine but don't take it out on us. The grouper fingers were delicious with a light, crisp cracker coating seasoned with old bay. The fries had a light batter and were crispy and delicious. We've come for dinner in the past with great experiences. My dad loves the chicken tenders! Recently we've been taking advantage of their pool tables. Always one available when we come. Tonight Casey (sp?) was very pleasant as usual. Unfortunately they were our of the Buffalo Trace that they advertise on the restroom doors but I got to try Knob Creek for the first time. We ordered out here our fist time and it was a miss for us. The cheese curds were far too salty. We got the 12 bone in wings, battered and fried, and they were soggy. My husband's steak tacos were cold. I got the mac and cheese and the noodles were overcooked and the dish was flavorless overall. I would like to personally thank Carolina Ale House for helping us abandon family restaurant meal night forever and remind us that we prefer to cook at home. The meal we had tonight was awful. The levels of garlic we had on our meals made them inedible. My husband is already in the bathroom sick and my daughter is doubled over in pain. We just got home. If you walk in and see no one at the bar.. don't immediately think you're gonna get a drink within an hour. They pride themselves on making you wait no matter how busy it is, it's genuinely an art form. The sauce was delicious, not too spicy. If you want more spice,, try the five alarm that might do it. I think the chef delivered our food to us. I am on the fence with this one. My first visit was delightful (with a large group). My food and drink were on point. We were about 30 strong and had one waitress. She did an exceptional job by putting in our orders by table. That way, all didn't have to wait for some. On my second visit with a group of 15, we had one waiter. Service was good, and the restaurant was quick to accommodate us. My food didn't look restaurant-worthy. It looked dark and old. Came back here recently with my cousin! We sat outside at the bar. The outdoor area was really clean and spacious! The bar looked clean as well and organized! The bartender was so kind and helpful in helping us choose drinks, by making some suggestions based on our preferences! Took my family there for lunch on Sunday...6 of us total. Liz was our server-she is amazing!! Patient with my kids, she made several suggestions for food, wing sauce etc-her knowledge of the menu and service was on point!! I recommend the meatless wings, they were so good. Beer was cold and refreshing! My only critique (I'm biased as I work in the restaurant biz) is that the hostesses could use some additional training on being more welcoming and outgoing when guests enter the restaurant. They weren't rude, just not as engaging as I would expect from a team member in a customer-facing role. When we left I was the one to tell them thank you and have a great day. What a great experience and service on Super Bowl Sunday. Staffing appeared staggered at 2pm and made perfect sense. Game time is 630p sharp. My order was to go due to unexpected guests. Everything was great and cooked to perfection. No complaints at all. Had the hand battered and fried wings, and the artisan 5 cheese spinach dip (awesome stuff made with 5 cheeses, spinach, cream cheese, along with pita and chips).
