We rescheduled as he explained they get burned and need to confirm appt (ok, maybe do the day before). He did show at the next appt during our scheduled appt time, measures a few windows and I had to track down quote because he forgot to send. I finally tried to order and he lost the invoice, which i resent him, then I was ghosted. I wanted to try and love, but didnt even get the chance. On to a more responsive, organized company I guess.

Hunter Douglas Roller Shades - Measurement Issues…read more We have owned Hunter Douglas shades in multiple homes and have always liked the quality of the products. This review is not about the shades themselves, but about the measurement and installation. We had previously worked with San Diego Shades and had a great experience, which makes this outcome especially disappointing. This time, instead of their technician, they sent the sales rep to do the measurements. All of the shades installed in our home were measured and cut slightly too small, leaving the wooden window frames visible on the sides when the shades are fully closed. While this may sound minor, it affects both the look and function of the shades. The issue is most noticeable in our bedroom, where we installed motorized room-darkening roller shades. Light still comes through the sides, which defeats the purpose of a room-darkening shade. I raised my concerns right after the upstairs bedroom installations, but the issue was dismissed with an explanation that didn't address the problem and did not and does not make sense. At the time, we were in the middle of multiple home projects, and I assumed I would eventually get used to them. I didn't -- and it continues to bother me every time I see them. When the downstairs shades were installed and had the same issue, I escalated the concern to a supervisor, and two of the cheaper shades were eventually replaced. Unfortunately, the bedroom shades were never corrected. Even now, the measurement issue is noticeable and frustrating. For a professional installation, I expected better attention to detail and follow-through. My advice: carefully review measurements and finished results before signing off.

We really didn't know the difference between blinds, shades, shutters, etc, but he brought us catalogs and we recognized shutters as the "window treatments" we liked best having stayed in air-bnbs. Turns out we have great taste, because this is NOT the cheapest way to go, but they worked with us on the cost so we could get what we wanted without breaking our budget. Now that the shutters are installed, I'm so glad we were able to make it happen. Our home looks completely transformed. The turn-around time was most impressive. A co-worker told me we might have to wait 2-3 months for shutters to be manufactured. We also recently replaced our windows and didn't want to re-hang the old blinds. Express Blinds had custom shutters made for 18 windows, a sliding door, and a half-circle window in 3 weeks! We worked with Linda to arrange for the installation to follow within a week of the window installation. She too is top-notch professional. She waited on me to get her a target date based on windows, then arranged for the installation to come less than a week later. She even called the afternoon before to tell me exactly when they would arrive. They arrived on time and completed the entire job in a single day. It was very easy to schedule the delivery and install of the curtains, I got regular updates on where things were while we were waiting on delivery. We're very happy with our decision on our new curtains and I would absolutely come back if we ever needed more window treatments done. I had gotten quotes from three different companies and they were top of the list but the quality and the delivery were absolutely there and so the price is 100% justified.

We had been quoted anywhere between $5,000-$15,000 to replace our sliding patio doors with French…read moredoors. Our garage is detached, so we could not lock our old patio doors, meaning if we wanted to use our garage, we either had to leave the house unlocked or walk around the block to our front door. We were told by all the other contractors that our doorway was a weird size, and that they were unable to install the doors without cutting into our drywall and stucco and removing our patio stairs. We were also told this would be a project that took multiple days. I posted our other quotes to Yelp to see if other contractors could beat it, and Sivan responded. Oded from Sivan came in and confirmed what I suspected: That what we were told by other contractors was wrong, and that they could easily replace our sliding patio doors with French doors with a lock, and that it could be done via retrofitting and would only take a matter of hours. Everyone at Sivan was easy to work with. My husband and I frequently have meetings during the day, so it's hard to have a call about house stuff. Everyone at Sivan was able to communicate via e-mail and text so we could handle things while in meetings, and they were super responsive even though we sometimes took months to respond because we had a baby since we originally reached out to them. We were able to get our doors done for $4,298.80, which was the best quote we had from any contractor and included labor, materials, and a warranty. In sum, we highly recommend Sivan if you are looking to replace your doors!

I will admit, I measured incorrectly and ordered custom Roman Shades from Room & Board which are very costly. Being that two out of the three sets of blinds were exactly 1" too wide I needed them cut down to the correct size and re-stitched. We tried the manufacturer and they wouldn't do it. I must have called and showed up to 10 different window treatment companies and they all said they couldn't make the alterations, BUT when I was referred to Carolina's with my last hopes on the line, she knew what I was talking about before I took the time to go to the workshop. Needless to say, Carolina's team not only made our new blinds correct, they did it in 2 days at a fair price before our first housewarming party, and we couldn't have been happier! They also do upholstery and covers in which I am going to take my C&B couch cover to be replicated. I highly recommend Carolina Custom Window Treatments for their services and timeliness. I was looking to do drapes/curtains for my patio. Carolina was recommended so I gave them a call. They were very professional, came out to give me an estimate and I am glad to say, I gave them the job. I had them use the same material that I was having a drop-shade made from. The panels (I had 4 made using a stripped patterened material) were all Symmetric and perfect! It is important that you know your community and you are willing to negotiate as a family business. That is what will keep your business alive. I was really excited over the reviews, saying how quick they were to get back, how reasonable their prices were, and how they were willing to work with everyone. When I asked them for a quote to re-upholster 17x20 dining room chair, they wanted to charge $75 a piece for 6 dining room chairs. No deal, no hourly rate; no negotiation whatsoever. Then they said that they would not do delivery because normally you can "unscrew" the seat of the chair. I'm sorry, but by the time I unscrew the chair and bring a bunch of those over to you with my own fabric, what am I even paying you for? This might be really reasonable for upper class people. They did say at this business that reasonable is relative and I would agree. I was not able to get my service done here because it is way too steep. They were cordial, but clearly exclusive.
