Great location in Cherrydale for a Five Guys and we frequent this spot almost too often. Burgers are always great and service is usually good. My only knock once in a great while is a hard bun with the burger but if you let it steam in the foil for a few extra minutes it'll soften it up. Haha. Sometimes I wonder why I'll pay a few extra dollars for a hamburger but once I leave stuffed I remember why, fresh and prepared where you can see it on the flat top. I had given up fries for the month of January so this trip broke that streak and the Cherry Dr. Pepper made me weak in the knees (hadn't had soda in months!). It won't replace my Chick-fil-A but it's a close one. Many locations have milkshakes but this one unfortunately does not. Like I really needed to add another 1000 calories to this meal. Ha. This location is my *least* favorite. Everything is overcooked and bland. Staff is rude tO customers and don't seem to know which way is up.

Order at the counter; proceed to the beverage station where they have Coke products and excellent sweet and unsweet tea (I made mine 1/2 and1/2); enjoy some of the complimentary salted/roasted peanuts; and find a table. Your number will be called and you go pick up your order. We both selected the "Little Burger" and you have a choice of several additions, but the items in the top row automatically come with your burger: tomato, lettuce, mayonnaise, pickles and more. I also selected the grilled onions (no upcharge) and opted out of the pickles selection. There are more menu items including larger burgers and kosher hot dogs. Our hamburgers were ready shortly after we were seated. Perhaps the most impressive thing I observed was when the hamburger patties were being placed on the grill. Folks, this was RED, FRESH beef, not a gray, rigid, frozen puck being prepared for us. I don't eat a lot of beef, but this was definitely refreshing to see and there's even a promo poster of a newpaper article stating that there is NO freezer on the premises. The restaurant is clean, the music is subdued, the kitchen staff is visible and their banter is also subdued. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. Once you're done, gather your papers, cups, sacks and such and dispose of them at the conveniently located receptacles. Even though there is no table service, there is a tip jar and I encourage you to please tip because the staff is responsible for cleaning after you depart and they deserve something for keeping such a clean place! read more

After our bad experience we had visitors in town and they ran down to get a burger. I told them we'd pass since our previous experience . We got pizza and waited on them to go downtown. They came back with pizza. Said staff was rude when there order was wrong. They said 2 plain burgers for kids and a double no mustard. We went to this location and it was so great! You could have a bad day, come in here and feel the good energy and completely turn your day around. The teamwork and friendliness between the staff was really noticeable. We always love reading the fan letters and seeing the drawings on the wall. My wife, a few friends and I stopped by to grab some burgers from a place we thought would guarentee a good time, we couldn't of been more wrong. When we got there only around 5 tables had people at them and one person in front of us. We all order our food and drove home excited. Then 3 out of 4 of our burgers were not correct. I called, was put on hold and talked to 2 people before I got a manager. I asked if they could fix it and they said just come in. Well it's a bit of a drive for me so i asked if they could make the orders now so I didnt have to wait again. She said sure then went to hang up before I gave them the order! After all this, going back, going home, and opening the foil low and behold another messed up burger. Your better then this 5 guys, but I will not be coming back. I really like the fries here. They are honestly so bad for you because they are so oily but they are soooo good. I guess if you just have it every once in a while, it'll be okay. Five Guys Burgers and Fries are very good always freshly-prepared generous condiments. It is a good atmosphere to fun to go with friends family kids whoever. But it is a tad bit pricey IMHO. This is our 2nd visit to this location. The burgers are much the same in all their locations. The menu includes the calorie count which you may want to ignore because this is a burger joint. The regular burger comes with 2 patties so if you want 1 patty order the smaller burger. One order of fries is enough for 3 people to split. If you take out I suggest you ask for a plastic bag because the grease from your fries will leak through the paper sack. It's a better alternative to a fast food burger choice. read more

This place has an unusual decor to it--mostly white and red tile, large windows, large bags of spuds stacked up, boxes of cooking oil, and all-you-can-eat peanuts. Large "I love me!"signs adorn the windows and walls--praise from critics around the country, which is a little weird, but whatever. It's reminiscent of a 50's diner inside, but the stereo system plays the greatest Rock-n-Roll hits of the 70s and 80s. You'll hear Boston and Led Zeppelin hits bumpered by Go-Go's, "Something So Strong" by Crowded House and "Our House" by Madness. It's kind of fun. The burgers are super--they're 100% beef, and they are just like someone grilled them at home. The French fries are homemade wedges with skins still on, and boy are they generous with the helpings. I ordered a "regular," but it was easily twice that because they filled the bag so full. They offer many different kinds of burgers and a couple hotdog varieties. Everyone gets a white paper bag for their order, even if they're dining in. The staff is friendly. What they DON"T have is side items. Maybe a couple side items like a salad or coleslaw to make you feel like you're canceling out the pint of grease you're eating. Also, I would really like to see a milk shake option here to compliment the burgers and fries. Am I the only one who thinks this is a glaring oversight? It looks like a fun, cheap place to bring the family or a date. The only thing I seriously don't like about the Cherrydale location is the panhandlers. Within 20 minutes, I saw two different men beg money from two different couples entering the restaurant, and I was given a story by a "preacher" carrying a bible who was down on his luck. Have always got great cheeseburgers there. I get my husband to stop in and bring me a cheeseburger home a lot. Pricey I think cookout burgers are just as good and way cheaper. But I do love their burgers. Always ask for extra crispy fries but don't think they know how to cook them because they are still soft with no crunch. OMG this place is disgusting! I don't eat meat any more, but I went to pick up dinner for the rest of the family. They screwed up my order TWICE, so I had plenty of time to look around. There were boxes upon boxes of fries stacked up, thawing, but convenient for the cooks I suppose. The kids cooking all looked sweaty and greasy and tired and miserable having to be there. The line was out the door, and dining room was full of mostly fat camouflage wearing rednecks stuffing their faces with greasy burgers and greasy fries. I shudder at the memory. Plus, my wife said the burger was undercooked and my kids didn't like the fries. Trust me when I say, there are VERY FEW fries my kids don't like--fries are a food group to them. Although we love this establishment and the staff as well, I noticed something that has me questioning the safety of the food they are serving. On our last visit for burgers, I noticed what looked to be a young lady behind the counter with a severe case of conjunctivitis (pink eye). I have worked in a pediatric office and knowing how contagious it is and how this is totally against health regulations and irresponsible it is for someone to handle food or come in close contact with patrons. Also, due to the fact that is treated with a topical and not oral antibiotic, it has to stop draining before it is no longer contagious. I've asked for the names of the managers at this establishment so that I could make sure that they receive the attention that they deserve! The GM, whose name I believe is Sarah, always makes a point to check on the food that is going out, not once have I had a mistake! Thanks to her! She always keeps a upbeat attitude when I see her! The other shout out that I would like to make would go to, Antwone. I come here for dinners mostly, and he always has the biggest smile on his face! It is obvious that his crew looks up to him!
