I've been here a few times over the last few weeks and I've had some ok food but this last one just really was bad and not what I expected at all so now it's time to review it. I wish I could say I was super happy and that's why I'm reviewing this. Tonight I called and ordered a pizza sub (didn't eat it but my nephew said it was good) and a chicken quesadilla (the young sounding guy that took my order couched for this quesadilla like it was the best thing ever).I'll show you what this thing has in it and this doesn't strike me as quesadilla at all. We were traveling through town and found this almost on accident. We liked the name and the reviews were good. When we pulled up I was a bit concerned. It looks like the kinda place That Could be amazing or could be REALLY bad. We ordered at the counter. The rest of my family got fried. Chicken and equally fried veggies like squash, onion rings etc. I got a gyro. I wasn't super hungry and really do not like fried food. A few minutes later they called our number and brought the food to our table. I wish I had been super hungry. The gyro was amazing. I tried an onion ring and a bite of the fried chicken!!!. Wow. Chicken Hut as we call it around here...they have just about anything you want (country food wise) and some Greek food too! Yianni's Special is delicious. The best fried chicken I think I've ever had in my life!!!!!!!!!! Almost as good as mommas! I want a barrel of their fried chicken right now just thinking about it.......mmmm. Place is always full of people - regulars and new comers. Just a good ole family country place to eat and get you some good cookin. ....They do have some odd things I haven't tried like a wiener on a stick but hey whatever you like lol. Great prices and great food. Good family place to eat. If you're from the area you ALWAYS see somebody you know lol. If you feel like meeting some good people or seeing some people you aint seen in a while get on down there and get you some of momma's cookin, sit down, and enjoy yourself! Oh yeah and it is def the best place in town to eat lol. Not putting down the very few other places in town but it's the best place in town to eat....and it's actually like the only "everything" "american" "country food" place....otherwise you got breakfast, chinese, and mexican. I moved to Robbins about 12 years ago and discovered The Chicken Hut! First time I ever ate there was to order pizza, who knew a chicken place could make great pizza too!! Thier chicken sandwiches, mushrooms and BBQ sandwich are the bomb!! Thier homemade milkshakes are just like we all remember them when we were Young! We eat there almost every week! read more

Omg this is some of the best fried chicken I've EVER had! The cole slaw was also DELICIOUS. Oh and so was the fried squash. The fried shroom app is good but you should order that as an appetizer first because the are super hot. They didn't come with a dipping sauce though. Hubby had the pinto beans as a side and devoured them si I guess they too were yummy. This is a no frills, seat yourself kinda place. But it's really good food at really good prices. Horrible customer service. Ordered the chicken Parmesan but the lady wrote down chicken Alfredo. When I asked about it we were shown what the lady wrote down, told maybe she heard incorrectly and told we could order the chicken Parmesan if we wanted then we're charged for it. I was driving through the area with a group of 6 friends. We decided to stop and eat here for lunch. The building looked as if the place had been there for a while. You can't always judge a book by its cover. When we went inside, there were about 10 people in front of us. When we sat down we noticed that most of the people had carry out. And there were not a lot of people inside. When we got our orders all the orders were wrong except mine. For example all the "Toppings" on the burgers were wrong. After we tasted the food, we could not figure out why there were so many people. I had the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and green beans. The chicken was hard and dried out. It was way over cooked. I almost chocked on it. The canned green beans were terrible as all are. The mashed potatoes were cold and nasty, same with the gravy. I would have spoke to the Manager, but it took time to get the orders straight on the burgers. And we had a short time for lunch. When we were leaving we saw the rating and it was in the low 90's and I was wondering why it was still open. I wondered why there were so many people eating there. 1.) They didn't know any better and it was good to them. 2.) They were like us, and were near by and in a hurry. 3.) There were not many other places around to eat. Which I think I saw others around. I live 700 miles away and have friends in the Robbins area so I have been eating here for a long time. This is an old restaurant in town and stays pretty busy due to not a lot of competition. Anything I have eaten here has always been good. Typically, you order at the counter and they bring it to your table or call you when it is ready. This is a country, neighborhood restaurant. The food here is very tasty. The chicken is fall-off-the bone tender and the burgers are thick and topped right. They even have baklava for dessert, which is nice. You can get a very good meal here quickly for very little. It's not the greatest food in the world, but for the price, it's damn good. read more

I have worked in Robbins for two years and eaten here several times a week. They offer a variety of food: fried chicken, seafood, burgers, subs, pizza, and greek options. The food is always amazing. The "Yanni Special" is great even if you don't like rice. The staff and owner are so extremely friendly and will make you feel at home even if it is your first visit. The quality is really good especially for the price. If you are touring the Pottery Highway, you must plan lunch in Robbins. read more
