Brought in a safe that I'd lost the keys for. The lady there opened it for free. So nice.

Had to secure the house again, so Vicky was able to re-key my door handles immediately.

I was astounded someone was attentive, had their head up and focused on me, a middle-aged woman pushing my cart through one wrong aisle after another. My sights were set on gathering the necessary parts to put my childhood canopy bed together for my next home's guest room. I needed 16 parts and although I had no idea how I'd put them together, I began by purchasing what I needed. Once the young man was standing at my cart, complete with a ready smile, I showed him a photo of my precious project. His badge showed me his name was Kayden and I imagined he was in his early 20s. With hope, I told Kayden I needed those pretty little toppers for the canopy. He immediately knew their name: finials. He politely waved his hand and motioned for me to follow him. Once at the end of an aisle I didn't realize existed, Kayden showed me the array of reasonably priced finials and asked whether I had any more questions. I thanked him and assured him I was all set. After spying the finials I had to have, I noticed there were only three and I needed four. I wove through the aisles once more in search of Kayden and finally tracked him down. I showed him the finials, resembling the ones from my childhood bed, he said, "Oh, we have plenty of those!" I assured him he was wrong and let him know the hook was empty. He grabbed hold of a 100-foot-high lift and made his way to the top of the rafters. Within moments, he handed me the finial I needed to complete my set. I asked Kayden if I could write a Yelp Review for him and he said he'd be honored. Everyone who shops at Lowe's will do well to have Kayden in their corner. He makes one's dreams come true.

Going in it looks pretty much like Home Depot, but with a different color scheme. Again not a lot of service staff to direct you to where you wanna go. But better than Home Depot though. Walking around I did see the door knob locks, and I did need to replace one of mine to the garage from the inside of the house. I think they call that a "man" door ... weird name for a door I say! Anyways, pick out a doorknob lock. Then I wanted to find the chainsaws. I wanted a small cordless one. I did find the power tools and the cordless chainsaws, but most were way bigger than I wanted to deal with. I wanna keep my feet and hands! I did find some smaller ones, but they were name brands and cost way more than I wanted to pay for something I was just gonna use occasionally. Well, OK, I did get a doorknob lock so that's OK.

This location is on Churn Creek, just north of where it crosses the 44 freeway. Just go north past the McDonald's an it's on the left, can't miss it! Parking was easy enough. We go in and OK, where do we look for what we want. There supposed to be some staff or something to help out but couldn't get anyone. So we wander down some asiles and don't see what we want. OK, I see the tool area, so we go over there. No one to help either. I did manage to find the chain saws, really big ass ones too that might chop my foot off with. I just wanted a little hand held job. I found a couple of options, but wow, these prices are a bit high, OK, higher that I wanted to pay for something I'm gonna use just occasionally. I'm not some pro landscaper. I did look on Amazon and those prices seemed more in line for an occasional user like me. Oh, well, we outta here. I'll say service is severely lacking here, but I guess you know that going into it.

I came in at 9 the next day and the items had not been pulled so I had to leave and come back later. I came back 2 hours later and still had to wait over an hour for them to load my pallet of bricks. The left hand does not know what the right hand is doing at this store. Absolutely terrible customer service and lack of knowing what is going on at their job. I wish we could go back when Home Depot and Lowe's hired people who knew what they were doing.

I've been in three times this week alone. It occurs to me earlier this week that my garage is looking darker than the inside of a basalt lava tube cave. The garage is lighted by four 48-inch duel-tube fluorescent fixtures, and they're past due for new tubes. So I buy eight tubes at True Value and install them. I get all the tubes replaced, and of the fixtures doesn't work at all. I confirm that it's got juice, so I need to replace that fixture. In another fixture, one tube lights up when I throw the switch, but the other flickers for a second and goes dark. I switch the new tubes to make sure it's not one bad side of the fixture. Nope. One good tube and one dud tube. Here's where True Value fucked up. I walk in this morning with the bad tube, intending to exchange it and to buy a new 48-inch fixture. I tell the guy at the front counter that I got a bad tube and need to exchange it. He looks at it from 10 feet away and says: "That's a really old lamp that's just used up." I'm like, "I bought it yesterday and used it for about one second." (Seriously, this penis with limbs is accusing me of trying to return an old burnt-out tube.) He asks, "You bought it as a single?" (They don't sell singles, so I guess he's looking for a "gotcha!" victory, or some bullshit.) "No," I say. "The other tube is fine and is still in the fixture, lighting my garage." "Well, I can't exchange one tube. You need to bring the other back, too." Why? So you can restock them? They come in pairs, shrink-wrapped in cardboard and plastic at the factory. Fuck you, asshole. I drove straight to Home Depot and bought the bulb and the new fixture, and probably saved about $25. I'm not promising that I'll never shop at PC True Value again, but if I do, it won't be because of my "shop local" ethos. Asshole True Value dude lit that up and pissed it out.

It isn't enough that he's divided our country and made a joke of our democracy, but he's dragging the rest of us down by pitting us against one another.
